I never played sports because I didn't think I'd be good at any of them, and I never enjoyed working out. I originally joined because I simply wanted to be more active and find something fun to do. I never imagined I would completely fall in love with Muay Thai. Over the past year and a half, this gym has given me so much more than just a workout. I've made amazing friends, gained confidence, and found a community that genuinely feels like family. Everyone here is welcoming, respectful, and supportive, no matter your experience level. The Krus are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. They truly care about helping every student improve while creating a positive environment where everyone can succeed. A year and a half later, Heart and Pride has become my second home. It's a place I look forward to coming to every week, and I honestly can't imagine my life without it. If you're thinking about trying Muay Thai--even if you've never been athletic or played sports before--don't hesitate. This gym has completely changed my life, and I'm so grateful to be part of the Heart and Pride family.

My training has been tailored to my needs and fitness level, with adjustments as skill and fitness increase. Everyone has been great, and I've interacted with several of the coaches and the owner Beau. I've experienced nothing but kindness and helpfulnes. I haven't taken the BJJ classes, but I am a BJJ purple belt and have observed the classes and instructor(s) there. It's solid, fundamental BJJ and the safety of the students is emphasized. I've seen a couple negative reviews, specifically commenting on people being rude or the environment being dangerous for beginners, and to me that's frankly ridiculous and makes me quite suspicious of the reviewers themselves. Especially the one by "Janice C." who claims she trained Muay Thai in Thailand and was somehow concerned by the practices at Fight Syndicate. That's a fairly laughable claim; the Thai's train brutally hard. Emphasis on "brutal". I am a recreational fighter, and the training has been well suited to my recreational intent. I'll work hard, but nothing like you'd see at a Thai camp and I've never once been hurt or put in a situation where I felt at risk of being hurt.

He checks on the kid's report cards to make sure they've been studying. Come in sick, he'll send you home. He treats it as a sport and encourages tournament fighting with all his pupils, it's part of adrenaline management training to make sure they can handle the stress of competition and life. The trophies on the ground tells you enough about the quality of his instructions. I have been going to fitness gyms for over 30 years, and I switched to this location so I can work out while my son is in class; I didn't want to leave the posh of the LA Fitness, but did it for the convenience...and to my surprise, I love this place! It's affordable, the people are friendly and they always rack their weights unlike LA Fitness and 24 hr. The mix of boxers, MMA fighters and general workout enthusiasts makes for a much more pleasant experience than the singles crowd at the larger gyms. The people here have a general purpose of improving themselves. They have all the free weights you'll need and a limited but acceptable choice of machines. The bathroom is generally clean and the showers are nice on the men side. Expect to sweat, they don't believe in air conditioning at this gym, open the doors and turn on the fans...old school, oh yeah!!

I am officially leaving and terminating my business with them due to an incredibly toxic, unprofessional, and uncomfortable environment created by the coaching staff. Training here has made me feel singled out and mistreated. Coach Adi frequently relies on backhanded compliments and passive-aggressive behavior that creates a toxic dynamic. Furthermore, Coach Juan has actively tried to use personal information about me against me, completely breaking the professional trust you expect when signing a long-term financial agreement. The breaking point for me was a highly inappropriate and uncomfortable experience while sparring with Coach Juan. During a drill where he was not wearing a cup, he explicitly instructed me to drive my hips directly into his. Because of this, I was forced into unwanted, highly uncomfortable physical contact with his groin area. I immediately communicated how disturbing this experience was to two other students in the class. A gym should be a safe environment built on trust, respect, and professional boundaries--especially when lock-in contracts and significant monthly fees are involved. Unfortunately, Coach Juan and Coach Adi have made this space feel unsafe and toxic. I can no longer recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a safe place to train. UPDATE: After posting my honest review detailing my experience, a representative from the business responded by threatening legal litigation against me for sharing my feedback. I am updating this to warn others that this business attempts to intimidate customers into deleting negative reviews rather than addressing the actual service issue.
