Our daughter Delilah has been training here, and we've decided without hesitation to keep her enrolled long-term. From day one, Coaches Warren, Alex, Jefferson and all the coaches at BTT have been nothing short of phenomenal. They've shown an incredible amount of patience, dedication, and care with Delilah, and it's clear they genuinely love what they do. What really stood out to us is how they treat each child as an individual, recognizing where they are in their journey and guiding them not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. They give each student personalized attention while also nurturing a strong sense of discipline, confidence, and respect. The environment is supportive, structured, and full of positive energy. You can see how much the kids are enjoying themselves while learning real skills. There's a beautiful balance here between focus and fun, and as parents, that means the world to us. We're so thankful to have found a place that not only teaches technique, but also reinforces character development. Brazilian Top Team Long Beach has already made a lasting impression on our family, and we're excited to see Delilah continue to grow here. Thank you again to Coaches Warren, Alex, and Jefferson and all the coaches at BTT for everything you pour into these kids. Highly, highly recommend this gym for anyone looking to introduce their child to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a place that feels like family!

After…read moreabout a couple weeks of my daughter being signed up and got the itch to jump on the mats which Char and Coach Marcelo were more than accommodating to give me a trial class. I was immediately hooked. This is a two part review as we have two members in the household: Kids Classes: There are two kids groups. 4-8 and 9-13 My daughter is in the 4-8 class. The coaches are attentive and incredibly patient with the kids while still pushing the kids to be the best versions of themselves. Since signing her up. I've noticed a big boost in my daughter's confidence, attentiveness, and there have been benefits in the classroom as she does a better job staying focused and listening to her teachers. Adults: I had prior experience from a different academy when I was younger and was turned away from jiu jitsu till coming to BTT and now I'm obsessed with this beautiful sport. The instructors are all incredibly detail oriented and do a great job of breaking things down starting from the fundamentals classes to the more intermediate/advanced classes. The original goal was to help lose some weight and that has happened, but the greatest accomplishments have been helping find an outlet for the normal stress/ anxiety of a parent along with finding and befriending an incredible community of people that are there for you on and off that mats. If you're even thinking about giving it a shot. Do it. You won't regret it.

The ratio of coaches to students allows for the students to receive the appropriate attention. The owner, Professor Rodrigo, makes the effort to get to know his members and create a safe, clean, inviting, and fun environment for everyone. Both my partner and I trained here for roughly 6 years. My partner was also promoted to black belt at this gym. I was able to train SAFELY during my pregnancies. There are many women in the program that truly made training amazing in this male-dominated sport. We made many friends in the classes and the only reason we left the gym is because we moved completely out of the area, but we are very much still in contact with our friends at the gym. We know that if we visit the area, we will be welcomed with open arms. Our daughter is too young to train, but we would absolutely enroll her if she was age eligible. The kids program is fun, consistent, and even offers anti-bullying training! There is plenty of space for parents to stay and watch their kids train - even making friends with other parents! This gym is for everyone - those that choose jiujitsu as a hobby and for people that want to take jiujitsu more seriously and enter into competitions. They offer a free trial class and even provide a uniform for you to borrow! If you are even sightly thinking of starting your jiujitsu journey, look no further and try a class at Gracie Barra Long Beach! You will not regret it!

I visited two other gyms in the area before deciding to continue my training at Jiujitsu League. I already had experience with jiujitsu and was not stranger to the art or the gym culture. You will find people here that are willing to help you start your jiujitsu journey or continue to grow and integrate new aspects into your game. You will also find that the owners and other instructors are very laid back and comfortable teaching/coaching all students, not just those who are already "good" at jiujitsu. You will not find people here who are trying to destroy you on the mats in an effort to boost their ego. You can learn at your own pace and the availability of multiple classes throughout the day/week will help you find the time and space that suits you best. Haley and Kevin are excellent instructors who go out of their way to make newcomers feel welcome. I joined BJJ because the idea of ever having to defend myself was scary to me. When I came to Jiu Jitsu League, I knew I was going to be absolutely horrible at it--but I also knew I would find great fulfillment if I stayed consistent, persevered through the physical and mental challenges, and learned this practical life skill and martial art that is objectively challenging. I've been learning BJJ here for two years now and I'm hooked. It has been challenging especially at the start. But seeing myself progress has been more fun and fulfilling than I had ever previously imagined--and I couldn't have asked for a better gym culture, coaches, or training partners to help me along the way.
