Tale of two Businesses. The Core 10 Gym is pretty wonderful & never had any complaints. Decent gym, good staff, good equipment. No complaints Their personal training group however, "Lighthouse Fitness" are morally suspect. I had a 6 month contract with them that ended in June 2016. I only did a 6 month because I wasnt sure I would do it for an entire year. Sure enough I didnt even make it to march. I assumed it was all done with come end of June. Sadly I was wrong. Going through my finances on 1/13/2017 I see that a payment for them came out on the 12th. When I got through to them on the 16th (no evening or weekend hours for billing) They said despite it being 6 month contract, it was on "auto-renew". I dont remember doing that, and it defeats the purpose of doing a short contract but I dont have my paperwork so can't dispute it. So I asked to cancel. The lady tells me I will be billed a final month in February (12th) since they have a 30 day notice. I was like look, you got 7 extra months from me. Can't you waive it, especially since I was unable to contact you from Friday till now (which would have been within the 30 day window (last payment came out on the 12th remember.) As expected, she said "NOPE" Think it's pretty morally shady, even if allowed by law. read more

This gym is nothing but lies. It is NOT ten dollars a month as advertised. It is twenty one dollars a month if you actually want full access. Also, it is not 21 dollars a month as they charge an additional fee of 55 a year just for the hell of it. I will say this though, if you got snookered into joining the gym DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to cancel your gym membership. Even though they say it is no contract that is just another pack of lies, you are actually locked into a year contract if you want out it costs an additional 80 and you will still be charged for the following month after you cancel. Unless you take the basic pkg at 10 which grants you access to machines, period. No classes, no friends to bring with, no childcare..etc. Also, if you need to change your payment options from automatic withdrawl to an actual paper bill, you will not only be charged your 21 dollar monthly fee but also ten additional dollars a month for the option to pay via mail. The place itself is nice enough, so long as you aren't wanting top of the line equipment and are okay with a limited option of classes and the workers are friendly enough. Just remember that it is a TRAP!!!! Don't join, go with literally ANY OTHER gym available. But if you already got suckered into it, DO NOT try to leave they will slap you with a billion hidden fees. I absolutely love 10 gym and their personal training staff. I have been a member of 10 gym on and off for several years, would not work out anywhere else. I love the atmosphere and the staff is always friendly. I could not be more happier with the personal training staff. My trainer Kyle is the best! Always keeping me on my toes with new routines to get me stronger. read more

As far as canceling goes, they are adamant on that 85 dollar cancellation fee. I was told back in July the membership would be canceled by an employee, but it never happened. They waived the 2 month fees and late fee though. My advice, dont go to a gym that requires a contract. The personal trainer also never got in contact with me after trying 3 or 4 times. Do yourselves a favor, and dont sign any contracts! read more

The gym itself is fine, but good luck trying to get out of the contract. While the basic plan is, as they advertise, "no-contract", the $20 per month plan will hook you in for a year, something the employees do not tell you. It took 5 tries to actually cancel my account. Multiple times I was told that they were canceling me and then the next month I would get charged again. Not worth the hassle. Go elsewhere. read more

Went to check out this gym since my little family and I relocated to OK from California. The person who initially greeted us was super nice and welcoming. My review is more based off my experience with the childcare. The two older women who ran tonight's daycare literally sat there the whole time chit chatting. There wasn't much engagement with the children. My son who was at another gyms daycare last week did so well there but at this one he cried. I would expect the women to try and engage him more but they didn't. I decided to stay with my son so my fiancé and brother could continue their workout ... well that was just kind of annoying. The women talked but barely even checked on the kids! I was so upset. At one point my son was showing them the car he was playing with and they completely ignored him. I get that my son is new and he wouldn't be completely comfortable but that's their job... to try and engage him, distract him, SOMETHING ‍ ugh such a disappointment. read more

As soon as I walked through the door I saw a woman with dark hair behind the desk applying makeup along with people behind her playing on their phones. No one even looked up. Not professional at all! This is my favorite 10gym by far. The staff is always nice, helpful, and just cool. Tons of equipment no matter what style of workout you are after. A few pieces of equipment could use a little tuning up but overall it is all great. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a fairly comprehensive health club at a great price! read more

I relocated out of state and I am currently on week 3 of trying to contact someone about canceling my membership. I left several voicemails at the "customer contact" phone number and never received a call back. I finally went online and did the email contact and got a reply from someone telling me to email someone else. I then emailed the other person and got an automated reply about delay in messages. I can consider a delay because of COVID but given the fact that these positions are more than likely "remote" I cannot possibly see as to why it would be a good excuse. The hospital I worked at had a quicker response time and we actually had COVID related delays in work. This gym is subpar at its best so I am not understanding why canceling a membership here is such an issue. If it wasn't because I do not like leaving things unmanaged, I would have done a stop payment and moved on. I expect somewhat professionalism but at this point all I need is my account terminated and not charged yet another month, seeing as how I did my part in trying to do a 30 day notice and to no avail. Don't waste your time here, go to VASA. Better equipment, facilities and customer service. The one star is because I am required to choose in order to post. read more

My experience with this gym has been good and bad. I recently joined this gym because I had a lot of people I knew that went to it. I joined the gym in early September and was very hesitant because I've never joined one before and wasn't sure if it was a good thing to do. Well regardless I joined and a couple of weeks later and then we had to move because my husband received a job offer out of state. I tried calling to see if they had other options or affiliating gyms where I was moving too and they told me they were only located in Oklahoma. I asked the person I spoke with if there was a cancellation fee and was told that there was a $79.99 cancellation fee. Of course I should have read reviews and the contract (in depth) first but I didn't and now it's either pay the $79.99 or they just keep pulling $22 every month from my bank account. I tried calling the Vice President of the company two days in a row now and still no response. I called and spoke to the manager at this location and she just kept telling me pretty much "sorry, you signed the contract". I asked if she could do anything for the fact that this was an unforseen move but I kept getting the "oh well" response. Let's just say this will be the first and last gym I join for now. It will be VERY hard to trust these places that say they are "NO CONTRACT". Please BE AWARE of the gimmicks before you sign something and join. Lesson Learned. read more

If you really want to workout, invest your money into a different gym. 10 gym is cheap so there are ALOT of people there at all times... Its crowded, stinky, the equipment/machines are broken majority of the time. The area for their classes is not big enough for everyone who wants to join in. No stretching area. I stuck with it for 2 years bc of the contract. Once my contract ended, I got out. I had to call a different service to end my membership 30 days prior to the last day. In that 30 day period they charged me an extra $40 something (which i didnt know of until later on my statement). I thought about calling them but ive had some previous phone calls with them before and they didnt get me anywhere close to resolve so i didnt waste my time this time. Customer service is not great. I tried to cancel my membership a few months early because of Covid and me not being able to go to the gym. They were not allow that, which I get because they have a business to run, but we also weren't expecting Covid and I've been losing $25 every month to something I haven't even been able to go to . I haven't been in months and they told me just to cancel it at the end of the year. Well with everything going on I didn't realize my annual membership fee was coming up. So I was charged an extra $55. I called for a refund and to cancel yet again and no answer. I called again and no answer. They finally called back and I was not able to get to the phone. Anyways I call two more times to finally get an answer. (After being charged another $25) they tell me it's a 30 day cancellation notice and I'll have to pay for next months also. I explain the situation and they say okay they will cancel now but will not issue a refund for the last two months and renewal fee. I'm just really disappointed how they handled it. I never received an email or any type of notification that my renewal was coming up. With the year we've all had an Covid being a thing you would think they would be willing to work with their customers a little more. I will not return. read more

I actually like this gym, it's peaceful and easy to move around. It has all the things I was looking for even child care.

This gym has THE WORST cancellation process I've ever seen. We upgraded gyms and went to cancel, we were directed to a 1-888 number that only handles their payments. Then we were told that to cancel, we had to PAY $85 TO CANCEL OUR MEMBERSHIP!! Plus you have to pay the monthly gym membership if it hits on the 30 days from the day you requested to cancel. So we had to pay around $101 to cancel a gym membership. And if that wasn't enough, I also had to send an email for a request to cancel after already spending 30 minutes on the phone. ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS. DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS GYM!! They will make you jump through hoops and bleed you dry if you need to cancel, the con artists. If you want a cheap gym, go to Planet Fitness!! They don't charge you for canceling. read more

As a general rule this gym is ok but the only area to do floor work is carpeted with very old carpet that is torn in places and is disgusting! There is no way to sanitize it and it has been down for years so there is some really nasty sweat and germs in there I'm sure. I've complained but nothing is done at this point. read more

The women's locker room needs updated like the other areas. I won't go into all the details except the worst: the tiles in shower have mold! I pointed it out to an employee and was told the cleaning lady has been gone. I wonder how long she's been gone. The showers are very bad! read more

I have been a member at 10 gym for over ten years. I have utilized the personal training services for quite some time and Dianna Brown is awesome! She is smart, creative and incredibly knowledgable. She can train all shapes and sizes and gives great tips about how to get the best results. Whether you have had injuries, you are pregnant, or just starting out, she can help! I Moved to Owasso and assumed that the club would be included in my membership but it was not and I would have to rejoin if I wanted to use the club. The place is gross. 10 Gym is gross. American Fitness was gross. No one takes pride in this company anymore? It shows. The tanning bed rooms and area are creepy and stinky. Fix it up. Go to Target with my membership and monthly dues from my past 7 year payments. Buy tables a rug, lamp, maybe a nicer chair and wash clothes and stickers for tanning. Do not sign up at this Gym with any new promotion promising to let you bring a guest. I tried that and after the sign up fee and yearly maintenance I was then turned away at the door with a guest because I only signed up for the special basic offering which I understood included the free guest. After repeatedly telling the little boy at the desk that I was not upgrading my membership to get something that I already had he offered me a card to their contract company so I could cancel. I took it. Now the contract company is saying it needs a letter and 30 days to make the cancelation. Do not sign anything with these guys its a trap! read more

Totals could amount to: $289.87 yearly or $368.87 with the buyout. for a company that highly advertises NO CONTRACT on their building and advisements... this is how they lure you in to upgrade from $9.99 (with no contract) to $19.99 (with 12 mo contract) monthly. Other than the guidance of misrepresenting a NO CONTRACT advertisement (of which you get little amenities: paid supervised childcare, locker room and shower access, fitness assessment with a certified personal trainer (of which they'll try and get you to buy into more training), equipment usage, and the 24 hour gym usage). I have life time membership with this health club in 1999 under formally name All American Fitness Center and later on transfer to 10gym almost 20 years since i've going this club and be able to use all club assets until today 12/28/2018 around 3:30 - 3:49 pm at location 1800 Aspen ave Broken arrow, OK 74012 when i asked for tanning bed the lady at the counter asking me for tanning bed card which is never have had before ! I explain to her i have lifetime membership here never have card for tanning bed ! She asked for my date of birth, after check in she told me that i don't have tanning bed in my membership which is not true ! And it is embarrassed me infront of all others member! So i asked for manager ! She said he not here so she let's me use the tanning bed but the embarrassment not stop there ! Because after 10 min section over they shut off the light in the room ,and it dark i couldn't see anything, i was struggle to find the door and cracked it open so i can use light from the outside to be able to put my clothes back on ! It very embarrassing stand by the door without clothes on ! This is very disrespectful way to treated gym member, very prejudiced toward me ! read more

The childcare staff here is amazing, they have watched my daughter for a year and treat her as if she were a member of the family. The front desk is also always very polite and helpful. Some of the equipment could use some updating but that doesn't really take away from the friendly environment. read more

Good for the price. Every time I go it is very crowded hard to get the machine or weights you want. Haven't tried any classes yet. Some equipment is really dirty. Employees are usually decent, the only time they are super customer service oriented is when someone is signing up for a membership. I am Irritated that even though I am 24 years old and live at the same residence as my 16 year old brother, they still wouldn't let him be my guest. I have never had this issue anywhere else as long as I was over 21 and I have signed waivers for him before. I asked if our mother came up and signed a waiver, if he could then come with me and she said "maybe." So I guess we will call later and see if someone can give us a "yes" or "no" answer. read more

We were not a fans of 10 gym. This gym is overcrowded and dirty. All machines are always full and 5% of the guest clean the machines after they use them. Although cleaning the machines is encouraged when you sign up you never see the staff moving around in the gym and encouraging guest to wipe down machines. Every time we've went it's been so crowded and the gym equipment is filthy. I've been on several treadmills and ellipticals that look as though they have never been completely cleaned. I would always wipe down my machine but still never felt like it was sanitary. We never even tried the pool or spa because I figured by the looks of the rest the place it was worse and I wasn't going to take the chance. Classes are good but so crowded it's hard to move around. I called corporate to cancel my membership hopefully without a fee because I felt that I shouldn't have to pay to cancel due to the circumstances and dirty conditions. The corporate manager was disrespectful and rude. I've owned my own business's and been a General Manager for 20yrs. You don't interrupt the person speaking or argue and make excuses. I just wanted to give some suggestions and move on but when you sign a contract saying they will give you a comfortable, quality, clean place to work out that's what I expect. I'm a member at 10gym,the one on 81st and Yale.When I dropped off my daughter at her mother's I figured since I was at 31st and Mingo I would get a quick workout in.When I went in I was stopped and the guy at the counter said I couldn't workout there and that I had to go to the 81st location.He told me that was the only location I was authorized for.I told him I thought I could go to all location's.He said that wasn't right and I would have to go back to 81st and re-work my contract to have access to all locations.I just thought it was a bunch of crap.To be customer friendly he could have said go ahead and workout and checkout with your location on 81st to have access to other locations.After that I said to myself screw that.And a friend of mine asked me to take her as a guest.Well,I told her she is better off trying another gym.Gary read more

To end contract it has to be 30days notice in writing. "It's in the fine print". I thought by telling worker at the counter would cancel the contract but "Corporate" said that isn't in the agreement. Love the gym. Everyone is super friendly and I get a pretty Big Bang for my buck. However, the personal training is not at all what I signed up for. I was told we would have access to a personal training room (which they had removed), meal plans (never received), work outs for when we were not at personal training (never received), monthly measurements (taken once at the beginning), and an nearly open schedule to train. I've been trying for over a month to speak with "upper management" as I was told by corporate. This is after they told me that it's not their job to know what goes on at the facility as they just "rent" the facility. My contract is over in April, I stuck it out and tried to make it work but it's just not what I paid for. Save your money and attend 10 gyms boot camp. The corporate office for lighthouse has been nothing but rude and unprofessional. I was told today I can expect a call in 72 hours but "don't feel ignored if they don't get back to you by then, they have a lot of obligations" way to make your customers feel important. They told me I can pay a fee of nearly $900 to get out of the contract, when I have only two months left at $270 per month to complete the contract....completely unhappy. read more

I like this gym so far. The staff and trainers are friendly. Also, they have recently upgraded their facilities and equipment, and will soon be getting new tanning beds. It's cheap to only pay $20 for access to everything; you get what you pay for. At this time of year, it has been very busy but typically you can get on the weight equipment right away. Overall, I really like this place/atmosphere and their friendly faces made it easier for me when I first moved here! read more

All this gym cares about is making profit off of people. Don't even bother trying to get help with a bill by calling abc financial customer care, because all they will say is "Sorry." I have been a member of this gym for 3 years and I needed to cancel my membership, because I'm moving to an apartment that has an exercise facility. They informed me that they are going to Charge me an extra 42 dollars (for an annual fee) plus another 10 dollars because in the agreement it says I am supposed to give a 30 day notice and pay any payments in that 30 days. No way was the lady on the phone lenient in any way and she even said if I cancelled a month earlier, I wouldn't have to pay that extra 42 dollars. This is ridiculous, and every time that I have called abc financial with money issues I am always unsatisfied. read more

Due to the fact that the employees of lighthouse fitness management in the 10gym treat me as if I have no common sense and that I am unable to show commitment due to needing to reschedule one appointment, I would like to cancel asap. Seeing as I never received a session. I would also like my refund. I feel as though Dimitri used my emotional feelings at the time to pressure me into a sale I couldn't afford. I told him form the beginning that my schedule changes alot and that I would have to change my appointment sometimes. He said that this would be fine. Dimitri today said that I am not committed and that I should think of the instructors because they need to make money and rescheduling effects that. However I emailed and called within 24hrs of my appointment which is what i was instructed to do but for some reason Dimitri and my trainer Kayla ( I didn't have her information yet) didnt know that I had cancelled? How am I supposed to pay for this expensive plan if I can't work around it. I have a job just like them and if somthing pops up I have to go to work also just like them! So now I am told that I am not committed. I am highly dissatisfied and very upset about how this has turned out. I will be putting this review on all social media platforms in hopes that anyone else Who has the unfourtant luck and happens to fall prey to Dimitri or anyone from lighthouse fitness they will be fully warned of the vile snake like tactics they practice as well has their terrible treatment of paying consumers who have jobs, kids, and personal trainings to manage. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This Gym is a Scam 100%. I'm out $193.52 after a year of paying and not using the gym because they lied. I wanted a gym membership and it was cheap and 2 miles from my house. Everyone was very nice when I went to sign up. I talked everything over with the guy signing me up. I wanted to be able to do classes and swim so I paid twice as much and became a "prefered" member. I do not like auto withdraw period! I asked them if I could pay a full year in cash right then and be done with it. I wanted to see where I was in a year and if I still was using it and not have to worry about anything with my account. They Flat out REFUSED to do that. He assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and that I could have it auto withdraw stopped at end when a year was up (which they did not do). I would have to come back in and do more paperwork after a year and He couldn't not guarantee the rate that I have for that year. I said that was fine. He called the billing department and set everything up for me I just had to get on the phone and state that was what I wanted to do. Everything sounded good and the last step was to set me up with one free personal trainer. He asked if I wanted a guy or girl. I said I didn't really care I just wanted someone that was good. He signed me up with a guy who's name I think was David (It's been a while). I showed up the next day to workout with him. He made me feel bad about the shape that I was starting off in and was very negative. I spent more time taking up for myself then anything. We spent 45 mins out of an hour talking, 10 mins maybe working out (roughly 4 to 5 quick things to see where I was at) and the rest of the time going over what training packages I want to buy. I couldn't pay in cash for those either. I told him none I was really hurt, Because in 10 mins or less he managed to hurt my knee (which I still have problems with). I told him that my weight on my knee didn't feel even and I need to readjust, He said NO it's fine do not move, you are going to do this and told me to start. i quickly knew when I felt the weights it was to much and told him. He told me to just try one so I did and couldn't do it and started to get upset due to the pain in my knee. He then made comments that embarrassed me. I just wanted to do what I had to so I could get out of there. I asked to have another trainer call me or if there was someone that I could talk to. everyone was busy at that time and no one called. I did go back and try to work out myself and take classes the instructors in most classes wouldn't talk to me at all. the classes were packed. Every time I went I couldn't use the pool. the girl at the front desk stopped me a couple of time saying to wait so she could make sure I wasn't delinquent on my account (I never was). I brought a guest and they had to set down with a sales rep and talk before they allowed him to with me, as soon and we told him that he was my husband he signed a paper and we went on our way. I didn't want to bring anyone else other then him after that. I stopped going all together. I hated it there. It was dirty and gross every time I went . I couldn't afford to buy out my contract in one lump sum. I did go back a couple of weeks ago to see if things had changed and took my sister. They didn't make her set through anything but did watch us like a hawk. Nothing has changed and my membership should have cancelled on it's own, but it did not. I got charged twice once for annul fee and once for my monthly membership payment. I didn't know it was coming and it put my bank neg. when I called and talked to My gym they said it shouldn't be a problem but I have to call and talk to the billing dept. and gave me there number. I called them and they said they can't do anything that the club or the gym I sign up with would have to do it. I asked them for corp. number and they REFUSED to give it to me. I found it online and the lady that I talked to there said there's nothing she can do that I should have kept track of when it was up and cancelled it then. I told her I did not want auto withdraw for that reason and called to have it cancelled when I year was up for this reason. She told me I was full of crap and that no one wanting a gym membership sets it up to cancel in a year. I told her that I did and she informed me that there was no record of me ever doing that. I have a hard time believing that since she did not get my name or membership number. There is no way she would even know that since she can't look it up. She also told me by doing auto withdraw that I agree to them taking ANY payments they feel that they are owed WITHOUT informing me of them. My Contract was up yesterday and I saw a change hit my bank this morning I called to talk to them about it FIRST thing this morning. I am out a GRAND TOTAL of $193.52 all because I didn't know 30 days ago that this was going to happen and it never got cancelled to end at a year. read more
