Post-rush hour, west bound near exit 7A

The 2016 YELP 500, Review #087: Every time I drive this highway it seems to be free of traffic. Lucky maybe? I don't know. If I have to drive during rush hour I try to ascertain that I have the right to be in the HOV lane. Note: knowing the schedule of this traffic flow is key when scheduling trips out of LAX because this freeway basically put you ON the runway!

Personally, I am a fan of the 105 freeway. Hard to believe cause I dislike driving in the Los Angeles area. There is only one reason that I drive on this freeway. It is my route to and from LAX Airport. I always have another person with me that way I can use the carpool lane. When I am heading west to LAX, I hop onto the 105 from Studebaker Rd. This is the beginning of the freeway (from the east). Even during peak times, I make it to LAX in less than 60 minutes. If no traffic, then it takes about 30 minutes. A convenient commuter freeway for me. Although I am not a fan of Los Angeles freeway traffic, I am grateful to have the 105 Freeway to use.

Do it at night if you really want a thrill

So SAFE , so FUN , so PEACEFUL ‍ Bring your portable radio and your water safe phone protector and you are safe to go ! The bikes are so easy and stable ! Amazing experience! Being out in the ocean on bikes is a vibe !

Can hardly tell but thats a solo driver.

I use the carpool in many freeways (fam, and co-workers). The 105 is by far the worst freeway. People dont respect the carpools. From solo drivers to yellow lines crossing and even cutting through onramp, you name it. Van pools are the worst offenders of yellow line crossing and using on raps to cut through. Highway Patrol needs to be on top. Specially near junctions (110 & 710)

An enjoyable freeway to take if you need to go towards the beach. Better if you have a passenger because you can then enjoy the carpool lane

Wednesday afternoon rides towards the beach / LAX are definitely tolerable when you take this freeway, find yourself a passenger to tag along and the carpool lane makes the ride that much better

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience here at Rubel Castle. Our host, guide,…read moreand local "Rubelligent" volunteer, Ms. Kathleen had all the intel about this historical property. She was so knowledgeable and helped set the stage for us to slip into a forgotten era and get a glimpse of how imagination met inventiveness with a DIY charm. ~ A LITTLE BACKSTORY FOR YOU ~ It's not pronounced Rubel as Barney from Flintstones. Rather, it's like Target is to Targét when we are trying to be fancy. So that's Rubel as in "Roo-bell." Unlike modern-day construction, Rubel Castle wasn't built overnight. It was made of collected recyclables and construction rubble that spanned many decades and took several friends and volunteers to build it. For Michael, however, the lifetime inspiration was first sparked at the age of 9. His love for canons was where it started and the rest is history you can hear about on the tour. But don't just show up like we did randomly one day. To book, visit RubelTours.org and make a reservation. ~ OUR TOUR EXPERIENCE ~ It's as if Michael Rubel, the creator and mastermind of this enchanted dominion had intended it to be--magical. Built in the castle period of wood and tin, every corner captured our interests, from antique cars to the 1890's Seth Thomas Tower Clock with a unique backstory (and only six in existence today). There were old vending machines, tools, trinkets, and machinery that time had long forgotten. Did I mention there was a drawbridge? Yes, and a dungeon too. I was just waiting for a dragon to come swoop down on us next. Walk in the footsteps of famous visitors like Alfred Hitchcock, Dwight Eisenhower, Jack Benny, and Bob Hope. It's a feast for the eyes no matter where you glance. I particularly enjoyed the bottle house that Michael built in 1968 as his "home" as a kid. That independent spirit was quite charming to see. ~ WATERCOLOR NATURESCAPE ~ We were fortunate to have our gracious host lead us on a tour and organize a special art crafting experience outdoors. It was absolutely lovely beneath the trees and between rusted vintage cars from the turn of the century. We each got a small canvas to paint our flowers in watercolor. (This particular experience takes place in the Spring and Fall, weather permitting.) We heard the squirrels rattling in the leaves and birds chirped and sang in the trees above. We discovered that peacocks apparently originated from this property, compliments of Michael Rubel. And did I mention that on the far side of the property, a custom garden was in full bloom? BOOK A TOUR Help support the Glendora Historical Society and keep this magnificently unique city-castle maintained. It's worth it.

A castle in Glendora? Yes, your eyes aren't deceiving you--Rubel Castle is real, it's magnificent,…read moreand it's gloriously eccentric. Thanks to the sheer persistence (and probably delightful stubbornness) of Michael Rubel, we now have this quirky, towering State Treasure sitting right in the middle of Glendora like a fairy tale that accidentally took a detour through a hardware store. This place is beautifully done, and part of its charm is that it's a full-on hodgepodge of relics, antiques, crystal trinkets, and "wait... what is that doing here?" moments tucked into every nook and cranny. You'll marvel, you'll laugh, you'll squint in confusion--honestly, it's everything you'd want in a castle built with love, imagination, and a dash of madness. And let's talk about the makeshift cemetery. Quirky? YES. Fun? Absolutely. Slightly spooky? Only if your imagination is over-caffeinated. But it fits the vibe perfectly--like the castle whispered, "You know what I'm missing? A tiny cemetery." The tours are fantastic, the guides are passionate, and the whole experience feels like you're stepping into a living scrapbook of California history and charming chaos. Overall: Amazing, amazing place. Book your tour. They only do tours every first Sunday of the month, so set your alarms, mark your calendars, tie a string around your finger--just don't miss it. Rubel Castle is truly a California State Treasure, and an absolute must-see for anyone who appreciates creativity, history, and a little eccentric sparkle.

Some old things that "came with the house" including some antique painted landscapes and an 1882 painting of Yosemite Valley, a 1700's butcher block, an antique telephone, and a pair of wrought iron rooster lamps ended up with my family. There was a stable, horses, and some outbuildings that held my Uncle's 1930's Duesenberg. I visited that place with my family a dozen or more times between 1959 and 1966. There were wedding receptions, family reunions, funerals, or just family get-togethers. There was a massive 20 foot tall avocado tree that grew up the side of the house at the back porch service entrance and we always went home with a large brown paper grocery bag full of avocados. My brother and I loved playing their baby grand piano in their living room and watching Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color and Bonanza on their HUGE 25" color TV set in a large open landing at the top of the stairs. Nobody else we knew had color TV in 1961. It got to be when there were more funerals than weddings, my uncle and aunt either sold or donated the place to the City of Bell Gardens. Lots of fond memories attached to that place. Just a few of us left who remember those days.

All of these reviews are ACCURATE!…read more I have been a disabled constituent and I certified and went through the motion of having my provider certify for the entire month and I reached out to complain to local Assemblymembers Gipson and Assemblymember Sawara. I might have misspelled that but my point is after voicing my complaints about how EDD did not take action AFTER I had the Assemblymember open up cases, they still had the audacity TO DO NOTHING. What happened was I complained about the bureaucracy and the government Assemblymembers NOT TAKING ACTION AGAINST EDD NOR HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. I was letting them know that I don't have online access because I don't own a computer and going to the library is a hardship. The government knows we are indigent yet they still allow EDD to control and implement the processes of certifying before being paid. This is NOT THEIR MONEY YET THEY CONTROL PEOPLE BY DELAYING PAYMENT. After a billion calls of calling 800-480-3287, Larry helped me certify via phone which I heard is NOT SOMETHING THEY DO ANYMORE. Now they force you to certify online and they don't give a damn if you don't have access to an email which I explained and another agent updated my email address after Larry was already handling the issue by switching to paper method of certification. I informed both of the EDD people that I NEVER GOT PAPER CERTIFICATION WHICH THEY CLAIM TO ALWAYS MAIL. How are they able to force people to certify online only when phone should be an option for basic yes or no questions???? I COMPLAINED AND ALL THE REVIEWS ARE ACCURATE. You won't get any expedited options DESPITE THEIR DELAYS AND INTENTIONAL INCOMPETENCE. Complaints have been emailed to other government agencies but these people all have this in common: CORRUPT BUREAUCRATS IN GOVERNMENT WHO COLLECT HIGH SALARIED AND DO NOTHING UNLESS PEOPLE COMPLAIN! IT IS TIME FOR THE POLITICIANS TO LISTEN TO CONSTITUENTS AND FORCE EDD TO BE ACCOUNTABLE AND IMPLEMENT CHANGES TO HELP PEOPLE GET PAID AND MAKING THEM PAY FOR DELAYS AND LATE BILLS AND LATE EXPENSES! I EVEN VOICED I DO NOT HAVE MONEY FOR FOOD OR GAS AND THE ASSEMBLYMEMBER JUST SAYS LIP SERVICE OF: "i understand your frustration" but they do not do anything except passively email you something generic. MAKE FORMAL COMPLAINTS AND APPEAL THE GOVERNMENT! Write to your Senators and local government because CORRUPTION HAS TO STOP!
