The first appointment was just X-rays and I had to come back later in the week to talk to the doctor but they were able to schedule the adjustment and the massage on the same day. When I returned for the second appointment the waiting area smelled horrible. They had some sort of air freshener or scent diffuser that was not in use on the previous visit and the smell was not pleasant. Went in for the consultation with the doctor where I was told the slight deviation in my back could lead to all sorts of terrible things. The adjustment took less than 5 minutes and I was sent back to the smelly lobby to wait for my massage appointment which I had thought was made for right after the adjustment but it was 2 hours later. I left and came back shortly before my appointment. When I returned I was informed if I wanted to come in for future adjustments I would have to pay full price out of pocket as they had checked with my insurance and they did not cover chiropractic care. While waiting, another customer came in and I was a little surprised when he was allowed to go around the counter to look at some personal pictures on the receptionist's computer screen. I guess they don't have any policies prohibiting that to protect patient privacy? The massage therapist came to get me, I had no idea what her name was as she did not greet me or introduce herself just led me to the room and told me to remove only my shirt for the massage. The massage was ok, more of just a light Swedish with multiple pauses while she stopped to use the laptop she had on a counter next to the massage table. About 20 minutes later she said she was done. I later called my insurance as I thought it was odd they did not cover chiropractic care. I was told my out-of-pocket was only 20% and they had no record of anyone contacting them for coverage on my policy. Does this office just not want to deal with insurance? Or did they expect to tell me that information in the hopes I would return and blindly pay full price for all future visits? Either way, it was very misleading to tell me I have no Chiropractic coverage at all just to get me to come back to them rather than check for a doctor that accepts my insurance
