I happened to be in the area of West Covina, and the one donut shop that stood out the most was just a short five- to seven-minute drive away. I decided on Mandolin Donuts and water. I drove to the small strip mall and walked into the mom-and-pop-owned donut shop. I was immediately greeted by a smiling male employee, whom I would find out was named Jeff, behind the counter. Jeff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and a genuinely happy man--the kind of person who radiates positive vibes that easily rub off on customers. The shop was stocked with donuts, beverages, and other items. The menu boards displayed a variety of sandwiches and other food items. Each item in the picture looked delicious. I ordered a plain croissant and a cinnamon donut (my favorite), plus a strawberry & banana smoothie for my daughter. I continued the small talk with Jeff as he bagged my donuts. I explained to Jeff that I was coming from a Yelp-sponsored lunch in the city of Alhambra, which seemed to amuse Jeff. I shared that I would write a review of my experience in his donut shop and mention what a friendly and happy man he was during my short visit. This brought a smile to Jeff's face and even caused him to blush :) I left the location and as I was driving home, I decided to try my croissant and cinnamon donut. I can HONESTLY say that both the croissant and donut were absolutely delicious. Truly one of the best of each item I have ever had in my life. The croissant was soft, flaky, and very tasty. Lucky for us, Waterfount is just down the street from us! They are open till 7 PM so we can always swing by after work on a weekday when we are running low on water, which is perfect. I am one of those people who have the special skill of tasting particular water, and believe me, the water here is fresh and great-tasting! They have different types of water but we just get the filtered one with reverse osmosis and it always tastes great. They are a family-owned business and provide the best service around. The location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the plaza. I usually go into the store to refill my water, but they also have self-serve fountains outside open all hours 24/7. We bring our own gallon bottles, and they always power wash it for you there before they fill up it up for you. They have carts here to wheel the gallons to the car in case you need it, but I always have my trusty fiancé with me most of the time, so he carries it, and I just support where I am needed, haha! Prices here are minimally higher than others in the area (only by $0.50) but the water quality here has been great so I don't mind. The water from the first water shop I went to often had a moldy smell and taste to it and they weren't as clean. So I found a better shop in Altadena that I frequented for years and never had that issue so I was hopeful to find another excellent and clean water source - so far I haven't had any of those issues here at Waterfount. The water always smells and tastes great! They're located in the plaza with Grocery Outlet so there's plenty of parking. They have a couple of large carts for you to wheel the jugs to your car too which is helpful. They offer different types of water filtration and also have 3 large self serve fountains outside open 24/7.
