Based on glowing reviews on Yelp and other sites, and pleased with 1RentalCentral's low overhead commission, we hired Rudy to manage one of our properties, with the intention to place all of our 6 housing units under his care if he did a good job. At first he was gung-ho and all interested in our well-maintained property. He won our trust and we signed up for his services. He vetted out a couple of promising renters in short order and let us choose which one we wanted to rent the house. All seemed to be going swell! Once the renters moved in, however, things went downhill fast. (Not with the renters; they're great.) When the A/C fan motor went out, the renters tried contacting Rudy, but he wouldn't answer his phone.The renters ended up calling us to make arrangements for A/C repair. And this wasn't the only time. They called us for another A/C issue and also when the water heater thermocouple failed. Each time, they called us because were unable to reach Rudy. We can't reach him, either! We did save some money by doing some of these repairs ourselves and calling a specialist only when the issues were beyond our expertise, but isn't removing oneself from direct responsibility for maintenance one of the key reasons for hiring a property manager in the first place? We are not sure if Rudy is the only property management agent at 1RentalCentral, but we are planning to request a different agent if they have anyone else. Rudy is good about closing the deal and getting the cash flow started, but good luck getting anything from him once the lease agreements are signed. read more

Rudy is not only very friendly but very helpful as well. He makes sure he can help out in any way possible to get you and your family into a home that you are looking for and will be satisfied with. Even if he is super busy with other clients he makes you feel like your concerns and questions are taken care of and addressed right away. BEWARE! I'm not sure what the overall point of this business is, but based on my own experience as well as other reviews I'm now reading, I don't think they are interested in helping landlords rent properties or help tenants find a great place. I originally called about a rental home I saw listed on a website. I called and initially spoke with Chris and he and I set up an appointment for the next day. I showed up on time but waited about 40 mins - just me and the receptionist. She assured me Chris was on the way. Ultimately Chris wasn't able to make it so Alex was the person who "helped" me. He talked a lot and spoke very fast. Seemed rushed and ready to get me out of there from the moment we sat down. It was rather uncomfortable and shady - I should have known then. Ultimately, he took my $60 to process the application (they accept cash only) and promised I could see as many properties as I wanted once I had paid the $60. While I have good income and no past rental negatives, I wasn't the most desirable renter based on credit. Alex assured me he would still work with me and we set up time to see a property the following Saturday morning. When I arrived on Saturday, Alex was no where to be found. I called the office but they are closed on weekends. I went ahead and left a message expecting a call back on Monday. I never got that call. It's now been 3 weeks; I have tried to contact them numerous times and I have left several messages during business hours. They took the $60 and ran - they haven't returned a call or made their services available since. If they decided not to work with me or if all if the properties I was interested in were all taken, a simple returned phone call or email would have been appropriate. I'm blown away by their level of unprofessionalism and honestly wonder they get away with this over and over again. Landlords should be aware of how potential renters are treated here. Place is horrible try to haggle me 350$ to try to fix my credit illegally and than shows me someone else's credit report with her social security number and on top of that make money of my credit report scam!! Wish I can give this place zero stars. Was referred by Volunteers of America to find a place for my family and I. At first, Rudy was very helpful in getting the paperwork in order. He said that he will help us find a place before the 30 day time frame. He kept in touch with us for the firsr two weeks. When it got close for us to move out, nowhere to be found. Was not happy at all. Worse part, we were out $500.00 for an extra service. Should have posted this review a long time ago. Better late than never. I had set up an appointment for this company to manage my property and they never showed up! Never got an apology either....

Rudy sent us to an address that didn't exist, gave us his number to contact him but was just the offices number which was closed. He never contacted us when we obviously never showed up to the address that he had given us to check if we were lost or still on our way. He did absolutely nothing to help us and just wasted our time and gas. read more

I used Rudy in 2013 and he charged me 300.00 to supposedly fix credit and find me a rental . But however he is nothing but a scam artist . Never followed through for me with anything he promised. We were adamant to move into a specific place and Rudy made it all possible for us to get the place. Being students not many property managers would stay as loyal as this guy did. Even when the odds seemed to be against us, he never gave up and continued to strive forward to make sure we got what we wanted. First timer on going out and seeking for a place to rent. Came across a place I had interest in and called the number on the ad. A guy answered and was really short and rude to me, so I called another number and it was for 1 rental central I spoke with Alex and he warned me to beware of another number that, that guy I had to talk to had nothing to do with the property and he was trying to scam people. I was very thankful as he warned me and was straight forward on what what going on. I went in to the office and talked with Alex and gave my information and money for the application fee ($120) for me and my boyfriend. Alex was super helpful and I kept joking with him saying your not going to just take this money and I won't here from you right? He said ohhhh no! I think I asked about 3 times. The application was good for a period of 2 months. I had called every other day checking on status. He told me he would let me know what was available and would send my application. Called and spoke with a lady and I had asked for Alex and she said he's busy at the moment I can take a message and he'll get back to you. He never got back to me after the 5 times I called for him. Every time the lady asked for my name and put me on hold it seemed like he know who I was and was avoiding me. Application fee didn't say if it was non refundable or not. But I wish I coulda saved my 120 and went with my gut feeling on knowing that I was going to be scammed!! read more

Nothing but Unprofessionalism and deception. 1st Rental Central has done nothing but deceive my Family and I... STEER CLEAR OF 1st RENTAL CENTRAL AND SAVE THE HEADACHE. 1st Rental Central definitely does not have peoples well being and livelihood in mind. From day one all they do is make empty promises and make you believe as though are actively trying to help you but do nothing but misinform and lead you on.
