This nationwide company has a good sales force. They sound professional on the phone but once you schedule with them and get transferred to a local franchise, it's a scam. The building needed paperwork in advance of the move and I had to chase them for days before they sent it. Their trucks are tiny (12-foot dump trucks), they started 2 hours late, and they didn't send enough people/trucks despite knowing well in advance that it was a big job. I had flown in from out of town to empty a family member's condo on a Friday and got seriously screwed by this company. DO NOT USE. read more

We agreed on a price (already expensive) and it conveniently "had to go up " when there was only one item left in the room because the truck was "almost half full" -- despite plenty of space. I used you 1 800 got junk yesterday to get rid of some large furniture pieces I could not use and some trash and when i say trash I mean magazines books papers matches all on the ground of the house. Now when I read junk removal I considered the papers and magazines and trash on the floor junk and the owners son kind of disagreed but in the end he and his helper swept up all the junk on the floor. I was thankful for that! I used 1 and a 1/2 trucks worth for all my junk which cost me 600 for the full truck and 400 for a 1/2 truck (their truck had junk already on it when they pulled up...) They also used all my large black trash bags. I asked for a discount because I paid for those trash bags and them using them when I bought them for me to use was only fair. All in all they did a great job considering what a mess my dads room was in. Trash all over it. He really was a hoarder. A little pricey but they did a great job removing my furniture and trash. read more

Honestly, what a horrible company. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. Booked on 12/15 to have a removal done for 12/17 between 4:30-6:30. I was not contacted 12/15 OR 12/16 to notify me of any problems with my appointment. I specifically scheduled for late evening because I would be working earlier that day. I was contacted at noon DAY OF to ask if they can do the removal at that time because they were finishing up with their other appointments and would not be in my area later on that day. Okay? But, I am working and cannot just leave! I explained this to the guy that called and he reassured me that ANOTHER CREW would be back out for my appointment. Fine. No harm no foul. I THEN received a call at 4:37P. No one is available to come for my appointment because they were all finished earlier in the day and their boss could not let them have a large gap in between appointments. WHAT?! How is that my fault? I was given an appointment time. I had this appointment confirmed. The guy told me that all he could do was reschedule me. I told him I was available all Sunday morning. He called me back at 5P 12/17 to confirm for 12/19 @ 9AM. I told him I was upset, but as long as it was done on Sunday, it would be okay. CURRENT TIME- 11:27 on 12/19. No one has call. Unfortunately, I had high hopes for this company with such great reviews. I had scheduled an appointment for a small junk removal for today, time blocked off 1:30-3:30 pm. I get a phone call at 10:30am stating they were finished with jobs for the day and asked if they could come immediately. Living in a high rise, my elevator was blocked off only between 1-4pm. I said they could be here at 1pm sharp to start the job. They agree and say they would be here at 1pm sharp. Great! Early finish to the day. 1:30 rolls around and I call to ask if and when the movers would show up. I was told they would reach out to me momentarily. 3pm rolls around- still no word. I call, they say they would be in touch momentarily. Mind you, my appointment was scheduled 1:30-3:30pm. I receive a call at 3:10pm saying the movers were backed up at another job and to reschedule. Why would I reschedule if they weren't accountable to show up for the first reservation? A day wasted, with poor communication between the company and client. Very unprofessional service. Had a confirmed appointment for a Thursday in Miami to remove a couch and selected pieces in my apartment for 11 am to 1 pm. I got a text confirming that that they would be there on that day. Around 11:30, I got the first call stating they would be delayed at a job in Coral Gables. Then around 12:30 or so, a second call stating they would not be able to come until 1 pm. We kept sending text messages to ask about status of pickup. No response. We waited until 1 pm and no show from 800 Got Junk We had to get on the road (moving truck). I showed my family the confirmed email appointments and texts. Not good service. We're going to send the bill to them if the apartment people bills me for the removal of the trash. Big national company doesn't have multiple trucks in the area to do pickups?? This was a weekday; not weekend. Don't recommend this company. read more

Our experience from booking the appointment online, to receiving confirmation calls, to a prompt arrival and efficient junk removal, was flawless. They hauled away big cabinets, a wheelbarrow, an old fridge, an old ladder, broken blinds, glass table tops, and tons of boxes. In and out in less than an hour and now we have our yard and garage back, as well as our weekend back. They even swept up the garage before leaving. I wish I could give 0 stars because they did absolutely nothing. We hired them to remove items from our house due to fire damage. We completely explained what happened and what we needed over the phone. We even offered to meet them at the house prior so they can look at it. We were told over the phone that it won't be a problem and set up a time. My husband and I both took the day off and met the people at the house. They said they couldn't do the job, said they "thought about calling and asking what exactly the job entailed beforehand" but decided not to. Then they left. I called the 1-800 number again and they said they saw all the notes we had told them about the house, talked to the people who drove the truck, and said there was nothing they could do. They didn't even apologize. I DO NOT recommend this company. What a waste of time. It made an already horrible situation worse. read more

Great 5 Star Service from Solomon and Kingsley who picked up my junk, stuff I'd been storing for way too long in an un-air-conditioned space, including a mattress and a carpet that smelled from Miami dampness. I am shocked how much stuff they "stuffed" into a half of their small truck. The truck bin sides are super high, so they are able to load more than you can imagine in that short space. I had expected I might have a full truck load of junk, but it was only half, so I was pleased with the price and with the junk-free garage I had once they were done. Solomon and Kingsley called ahead to let me know exactly when they were coming, and they arrived exactly when they said they would. And, they were as polite and respectful as can be, especially doing a true "dirty job." They wholly deserve 5 stars, and I wouldn't hesitate calling them again. read more

While assisting my girlfriend with her move while she was out of town for the week. I called a few places to get some furniture removed from the new place she is moving into. When I called 1-800-GotJunk they told me it would be $134 to fill 1/8 of a truck and then from there it would be small increments with the more stuff it is. First, their trucks are really small to haul stuff in. So, that's the first trap. Secondly, the increments are not "small" at all. Ended up being $430. That's way more than we thought we were going to have to pay according to the phone call I placed to them. The one good thing about the service I received is the drivers. They were really good guys who did their job great and were helpful. No complaints with the department. 1-800-Got-Junk needs to be more honest with the size of their trucks when giving people prices and don't say small increments when it's not. We felt deceived when receiving the quote but at that point we had no choice to accept it because we were moving stuff in that next day. Again, I'm really disappointed with this company and conversation over the phone that made me decide to pick them. It was not up front and honest at all. My window was after 2PM. They called me at 12PM and asked if they could come early. I said I was 45 minutes away and they said they would see me in an hour. Three hours later (4PM) they called and said they were running late at a job in Hallandale. My job was in Pembroke Pines. They show up almost at 6PM, and did not have enough space to take my items! They went to another job in my window and were not prepared for my items. The rep did not care, he was rude, condesending, disrespectful and did not care that I was left with a garage full of stuff the day before I had to be out of my house. I escalated to corporate and they told me I would be contacted by the local management. It never happened and I will never use them again. Do not use them! I called 1800GotJunk to remove a queen bed and couch from a 500 sq ft apt in Miami. I was told pricing for that will start at $138. The lady then asked me if there is anything else I'd like to add, and I listed a handful of other items, but said the most important thing is the bed and couch since it's difficult for me to handle myself. The men arrived to my apartment and told me everything would be $600. I said i'm sorry, but that's too high. I said let's just get rid of the big items like the bed and couch as originally discussed. They then told me that the bed and couch would be $300 and showed me a sheet with itemized pricing. I told them sorry, but i can't and wish I was told that over the phone when I called originally. I then called the company to see what happened and the agent on the phone was rude and argumentative. All I wanted to know why I was quoted $138 when the total price upon arrival was $300. The agent's only answer was that I'm wrong and they're right. To be honest, I've never been spoken to by anyone in this manner before in my life. Either give me pricing or don't, but telling someone pricing for a queen bed and couch starts at $138, when it's really $300, is deceptive. This company LITERALLY has an itemized price sheet with things like bed, couch, table, etc yet doesn't tell you on the phone. There's no excuse for this type of bait and switch. Instead they say $138 so you book them and then hope you'll pay the extra after you've taken time of your day to meet their workers. Skip these guys and go with a company that's more transparent with their pricing and also workers that don't argue with their customers. read more
