I picked up my vehicle from the Tesla Clermont location on July 3 at 3:00 p.m. after driving approximately 45 minutes to get there.
During the delivery inspection, we discovered numerous defects, including paint swirls, more than ten paint chips, and extensive paint bubbling across at least seven different body panels. The delivery employee assisting us was very kind and did everything within his authority to help. He photographed the defects and documented the issues so they could be addressed.
Unfortunately, because it was the day before the Fourth of July, no managers or supervisors were available to speak with us or could be reached. We were told that a manager or supervisor would contact us within the next day or two, but that call never came.
To make matters worse, the photographs and notes taken during delivery were not properly entered into Tesla's system. As a result, when the vehicle was eventually taken to the Collision Center, the staff could not easily locate the original documentation showing the condition of the vehicle at delivery.
While I appreciate the delivery employee's effort and professionalism, the location's lack of management availability, failure to follow up as promised, and failure to properly preserve such important documentation made an already disappointing delivery experience much more difficult. For a brand-new vehicle, these defects should have received immediate attention and a clear, organized resolution--not months of delays, missing records, and avoidable frustration. read more
