Love having a very long stretch of paved walkway. People were enjoying walking, biking, one wheel, skateboards and even old school roller skates. Our pooch enjoyed the path. We walked about 3-4 miles. Best part is the views of the water and bridges and a local artist, Stephen Cutler. We were talking about how his art really elevates the walking experience. His art is Native American style with lots of bright colors. Just beautiful and then we see this guy painting a fresh painting of a killer whale and lo and behold it was Stephen himself. Was awesome to talk to him and share how much we appreciate his art brightening our walk. https://whatbeautifullight.com/2022/04/23/new-portland-murals-and-the-legacy-of-cultural-appropriation/
The trail does move through industrial areas in parts. The trail itself is free of debris and seem maintained. Surrounding areas are a bit sketch however most of it is fenced off.
