I have been a long time customer of giant eagle and though there have a few problems, It's never been as bad as it is now. I purchase from giant eagle through pick up usually and always leave notes to please check for freshness and signs of decay on my fruits and vegetables. Almost always there's a problem with one item or another and I just end up throwing it away and not mentioning it but this time last time was the final straw.
I usually have to toss a quarter to a half of strawberries, and usually a quarter to a half of grapes. but this time the grapes were almost all rotten and I will include pictures

I was very disappointed that I have had no acknowledgment of what I wrote to them and I wrote to them two different times in two different forums.
I believe that they use the pick up grocery option in order to get rid of fruit that maybe on the verge of going bad, items that are almost expired, or already expired and bent and dented cans. Even though they are very convenient and my neighborhood, I will go out of my way to avoid the store at all costs. read more
