It was a pleasant sort of day, and the park was a lovely thing to stumble onto. It was expansive and very walkable, with a lot of nice greenery and good people watching. And by people watching, I mean that the park was full of senior citizens getting in workouts--the park was equipped with cute, colorful, low resistance exercise equipment explicitly designed for the elderly. I saw one old lady doing leg presses, another cluster of them hanging out on mechanical stationary bikes. We didn't spend a ton of time at Cherry Street Park, but it seemed like a neat little spot, certainly a boon for locals. I'd love if my grandma had a free outdoor gym near her apartment. Just the thought of her gabbing with her church friends, pedaling very slowly on an exercise bike, makes me wish someone would copy this place in my city.

Well maintained and couple or several water fountains. We just walked through but felt safe plus felt not in a city rather in a fun relaxing atmosphere vibe. And it is right in the middle of a busiest street in HK.

However, after watching an awful lot of youtube I ended up discovering this notorious place. However, it no longer exists, and it has been turned into a park. Despite that, there are a number exhibits, including a model, on the former slum. It is quite a nice a peaceful park though.

You'll reach a section where it talks about the Kowloon Walled City, interesting facts, and a small statue of how dense the apartments were. As you walk further in, there will be people giving away vouchers (free) to walk inside the Cinematic Journey (movie set). You get free entry and for 15 minutes, you can view the movie set, get a sense of how the apartments used to look, and read more history. Hong Kong Park / Admiralty (Hong Kong) -- For the swarms of tourists that trundle down from…read moreVictoria Peak, I am amazed how just a few actually entered this bucolic park when they get off the tram. Jamie W and I were pretty much the only ones who walked into the park, which was totally fine by us. I was surprised to find out it was only built in 1991 because it felt well established as an urban oasis. Because it's on a hillside, the landscape is scrupulously terraced connected by leisurely paths festooned with flowers. The central pond was quite a draw for serious photographers with huge lotus plants, turtles sunning themselves on the rocks, and colorful schools of koi converging on the shoreline. This is an awesome park with very cool attractions, nice water exhibits/gardens, and a tea ware…read moremuseum. Also HK has the most adorable trash cans ever, which are on full display in this park. Was t able to check out the areas near the mountain or higher up but will do so next time. Highly recommended!
