The customer service that I received was stellar. I was surprised, coming from the United States postal service. However, I needed to see 2 different people at 2 different windows because I was sending several large parcels as well as some smaller pieces of mail. Both were quite helpful and friendly, even though I had lots that I needed their help with. I visited during the busy Christmas and holiday season, but the lines were not that bad, and I got all of my business done in a relatively short amount of time. Also, nobody bothered me when I left the large suitcase but I brought all of my packages in on one side of the room underneath the counter. I think that if I was to do something similar in America, some security guard would've come up to hassle me immediately. Hahaha. If you are mailing several large parcels like I was, keep in mind that there is an escalator up to the second floor of this building, so you don't have to lug your burden up the stairs. I am old school that way and believe in putting pen to paper with the written word. I was happy to find a post office in my hood when we recently moved to Sheung Wan. As an English speaking person, I was happy to find all individuals who are working at the post office speak English. They are quite nice really....dealing with those often long lines of people all day, I am glad they all seem quite nice. Avoid the long lines and absolutely do not go around the end or the beginning of the month, where it seems like every 8 out of 10 people in line are there to pay a bill. Horribly convenient if you want to pay a bill (versus on-line I suppose), but horribly inconvenient if like me that you are sending snail mails like birthday cards and postcards back to the US. There are moments when I am here and feel like this is really a bill paying facility that happens to do postage. There is an "express" line if you have 3 bills or less and it is hit or miss if that lane is busy. I also find the post office is the only place that I can spend the abundance of small coinage like 5, 10, 50 cent pieces where they do not look at me in horror when I whip out my change purse. Good way to get rid of the small change we accumulate all too often in Hong Kong.

A giant statue of the Hong Kong flower sits prominently in front of Golden Bauhinia Square which is located on Hong Kong Island and is a popular tourist destination as it sits right along Victoria Harbour and with that there's no designated parking spot but we were blessed to have a friend that took us around the island and dropped us for a quick pic and to enjoy the stunning glory that represents Hong Kong. Yes it's absolutely a tourist spot as you need to be a bit patient to get a clear shot of it while avoiding locals making the most of it by asking for money in exchange to take your and/or group shot of it with ease. There's many spots to enjoy on this island and though this is a simple yet complex spot to get to does give you a lovely view of the harbour taking in the beauty that Hong Kong has to offer. Compared to the many landmarks and tourist attractions in Hong Kong (#1), the Golden Bauhinia…read more(金紫荊廣場) is not terribly impressive beyond its tasteful design and prominent position in front of the HK Convention Centre. It stands 6 meters tall overlooking the beautiful Victoria Harbour and faces the mighty skyscrapers of Kowloon. For those not in the know, this is where the "Handover" occurred (#2) almost exactly 20 years ago. Every single day there is a flag ceremony held by the HK Police Force, who yawnfully raise the flags of China and Hong Kong, while Police Band plays the national anthem, followed by a performance from the Police Pipe Group. This happens daily at 8am and it's a (boring) show from start to finish. Of course, a majority of the people here are heaps of tourists who came off of a shuttle bus. It's an attraction, but not a serious one. I'd bundle it along the same lines as the Symphony of Lights (https://www.yelp.com/biz/uNe6EPhUrC2sm-IHohSR2Q), just worse music and way less colorful. ___________ (#1) Is there more awe than the Tian Tan Buddha? My expectation was kind of a 3 going in, but definitely a solid 4 coming out. What makes this place a 4 on Yelp? 1) Although most likely only for a limited time, they have a special exhibition of "3D Human Body." Totally kid friendly and educational. Mostly all things in print on the walls (pictures and words), but interesting none the less. The exhibition ends with a small area that showcases the SARS outbreak of 2003 and how it was identified and eradicated. Kind of interesting as an outsider who was aware when this happened, but knew the global reach this had. 2) Dating back to 1906 as the Government Bacteriological Institute, how great to see an old building that has not been knocked down to build a residential complex. 3) Plague, SARS, bacterias, infectious diseases, epidemics, sanitation issues,...kind of gross, but also like a car wreck...you don't want to look, but you have to! The history or these kinds of outbreaks here in Hong Kong (actually right in this neighborhood!) over the last 100+ years is outlined and showcased here at this facility, where they once were focusing on research, public health improvements, medical advances, etc. 4) Zhang Yanzi is an artist who is from mainland China (represented by Ora-Ora gallery) who was on special display during my visit. Very cool, merging art and medicine, really great contemporary art that is a good fit on topic and size for the space of the museum. Kind of neat to have the old and the new of this museum merged under the same roof. 5) From the top floor to the basement, they have loads of old school medical equipment on display. From an operation table from 100 years ago to the original lab table they used, it is kind of cool that all this stuff was preserved. 6) This is not your average museum. It is small compared to many and definitely a unique topic, but really kind of cool. There are only around 30 medical museums on the planet. How cool that there is one right here in HK! For $20HKD per adult, you will learn something new. I did not expect to find this all so interesting, but I did.

Lee Tung Avenue is a beautiful pedestrian street in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, lined with charming cafés,…read morerestaurants, and boutique shops. It was once famous as "Wedding Card Street" because of its many printing and wedding invitation shops, but it has since been transformed into a modern lifestyle and leisure destination while still preserving its unique history. Visiting Lee Tung Avenue was especially meaningful to me because my mom lived here when she was a child. Walking along the street made me imagine what the neighborhood was like years ago, and it gave me a warm feeling. It was a wonderful place to explore and relax.

Like everyone said, this street is where the East meets West; it is definitely more luxurious, with many high end shops and restaurants, after a controversial redevelopment by the government since 2003. I was hoping to see the signature rows of red lanterns on this street, but they took it down for the winter holiday, and it's all Christmas decor right now! This street is usually filled with excitement; many come here to take selfies with the decor, and to check out the many restaurants and shops. There is Japanese ramen, Chinese noodles, French cuisine, egg tarts, coffee shops, and many more! Connecting to the MTR station right underneath Lee Tung Avenue, you will also find an underground pathway with a grocery store, and plenty of local shops for beauty, jewellery and baked goods! Psst, a NEW popcorn shop just grand opened, and it makes the pathway smells extra, extra sweet, and you just want to stop by to buy some lol ^^
