This minuscule laundromat has 3 washers and 3 dryers that can handle a large amount of laundry. Prices per load are affordable. Need $5 or $10 coins? There is a change machine that'll help you out. Other things I like about this place: - Open 24 hours - Laundry baskets and small step stool provided for convenience (the dryers can be a bit high for short folks) - They can provide you a receipt via email if you need to claim for business purposes - They are open to feedback. You can leave your comments on their tiny notebook! - Place is clean, machines are easy to operate, and most importantly they all work. Hopefully my washing machine gets fixed soon, but should I need to do a heavy duty load in the future, this will be my spot!

First and foremost - the people there are incredibly friendly and helpful. I know how to do laundry, but the process was different than I was used to. You don't need to add your own soap as it's built into their water line and all payment is done via a kiosk using your Octopus card. If you don't have enough funds, there's a 7-11 next door where you can reload. A single load costs $20HKD and to dry its $8HKD for every 10 mins. The dryers are on the larger side, so you can definitely dry two loads in one, just add a little extra time. The coffee was great. I had an Americano and since it's an open type concept with free wifi, I was able to browse on my phone while watching the hustle and bustle of the morning while sipping my coffee to pass the time. Highly recommend if you need to do some wash as a tourist or a local in Hong Kong!

This is in fact an amazing news for all as this place is opened 24-hour a day and you do not need to bring your dirty laundry to those local laundromats where the staff may criticize your taste in clothes. As a matter of fact, this shop is fairly new to Hong Kong as it is from Taiwan originally and it finally branches out and here it comes. I am almost 100% sure just in a few months, there will be more of this opening all around Hong Kong. The best part about this place is it is very user-friendly and it has clear instructions teaching you how to do this and to be honest, how difficult can this be? This may probably be better than other laundromats. As for the price, it is very cheap and of very decent quality, compared to the exorbitant rate Hotel laundry charges you. It has only opened for less than 2 weeks and I can see more and more people coming here and most washing machines are occupied already. The Good: this is the only do-it-yourself laundromat in this area of HK island. It is open around the clock, so you can go wash your clothing at any hour of the day. There are small stools to sit on while you wait for your laundry to be done. The machines are relatively clean and are effective at washing your clothing. This is very convenient for when you really just have to wash your clothes and your building doesn't have a washer. There are also dryers! Yes, you can actually dry your own laundry instead of having to hang it up in your apartment or up on your roof. They sell detergent and those little laundry dryer fabric softener sheets. The Bad: Because HK is so humid, the dryers are quite humid too. After running my laundry through the dryer twice, the clothing was still quite damp. The dryer windows get very foggy while drying the clothes - something I haven't seen doing laundry in other countries. Having to schlep all of my damp laundry back to my apartment was a pain because the wet clothing was heavy. I'm sure this problem is a non issue during the less humid winter months, but for October I would have had to either run the dryer three to four times OR just given up and dried my clothing at home. I think this place is a great option for those who want the freedom of doing their laundry whenever they'd like, but the humidity situation in the dryers was a deal breaker for me.

For example, to pay about US$3 to wash EACH pair of socks or undergarments? It would be cheaper to just buy new ones. So, when we arrived in Hong Kong and settled in the North Point area, our hotel did have laundry service but it was also on the pricey side. One of my travel mates stayed at this hotel in the previous year and mentioned there is a laundry service that is less than 10 mins by foot just past Tim Ho Wan. I'm not good with navigation at times but the member said "Look for the Rainbow sign!" From the City Garden Hotel we stayed at, indeed it was a short stroll and immediately found Tim Ho Wan, where I eagerly looked inside as at that time had never experienced a Michelin Star restaurant. As I proceeded to walk further and looked up, I finally find the sign posted above "Rainbow Laundry" (RL) and also in Chinese characters. This place was an easy find. When I walked up with my bag of dirty laundry, there was a middle-aged female who looked up at me. She took my bag and weighed it as they charge you by pounds. I paid approximately a little over US$10 to wash about 5 days for dirty clothes. What a deal. Between 1 to 6 pounds is a flat rate of HK$36. It's an additional HK$6 for each extra pound thereafter. There is a deadline of when to drop off if you want same day pick up. For an additional surcharge, you can pay the extra free if you wish to have your clothes expedited. Payment is required when dropping off and they will issue a receipt. After doing the tourist thing by exploring the city all day, I came back late in the afternoon to find my bag of clothes all ready. When unpacking the bag, my clothes are still toasty and nicely folded. Should you be staying in the North Point area within this vicinity, the walk over to RL is definitely worth it. Reasonably priced to have your clothes washed and attended to in a timely manner. NOTES: 1) Cash only. 2) When I researched RL, I realized they didn't have any posts on Yelp so I came back to take some photos to help others with navigation for future use. When bringing out my cell phone to snap a photo of the store front, the middle-aged lady barked at me. She started to yell at me asking why am I taking pictures for. I advised I'm Yelping her business to assist people in the future who need to have laundry done. At this time she immediately kept quiet.
