Mannings is one of the two biggest drugstore chains in Hong Kong. Watsons being the other. This Mannings is located inside the Hong Kong Station complex. It is not a very big location. More of a convenience store size drugstore. Was looking for some Claritin for my allergies. If you are a foreign visitor, you won't see many of the OTC drug brands that you will find in your home country. As such, Claritin does not exist in HK so I had to look for the generic name on the package to find the HK equivalent brand which is NT-Alergi BTW. Fortunately, it was not as difficult to find as they do have products organized by ailment. This Mannings is alright. It is not a big store, but you should be able to find what you need for any immediate needs that you might have while travelling on MTR or Airport Express.

Bonjour is one of the main cosmetics chains in Hong Kong. Sasa is the other one. This location is…read morelocated on Bute Street in Mong Kok next to the footbridge that connects Grand Century Place/Mong Kok East Station with Mong Kok Station. The store actually has three different entrances since it takes up multiple storefronts. While Bonjour is known for their cosmetics and fragrances offerings, it has commonality with the two drugstore chains, Mannings and Watsons. While cosmetics are the main offering, Bonjour has a nice selection of drugstore products. Particularly Chinese medicines and healing oils. And the prices seem to be the same or better at Bonjour than at the two drugstore chains based on a product comparison I did on a few items. The store also has a nice food and snacks selection including some that are imported. There is even an area here in the right side back of the store that is full of Japanese snacks and groceries. The only issue with this store is that the aisles are small and the checkout location seems to be oddly placed near the middle of the store. If you are looking for a drugstore item, you should check out Bonjour to see if they have it. You might save a few bucks here rather than going to one of the drugstore chains.

I actually visited several Mannings outlets there, but since I bought the most items in the HK International Airport, this outlet is what I chose to review. That, and because I forgot the locations of the other outlets. For starters, they offer good discounts on selected personal care items, such as 70% off on luxury face creams or 50% off on hair care products. And these products aren't your throwaway brands; these are decent mid-range products that you can use every day. Anyway, I was on the last leg of our vacation and still with a wad of HK$ to spend on myself. Sure I could save them, but I didn't fly all the way to HK and convert my cash just to decide to reconvert it to PHP at the last moment. I wanted to convert my cash into skincare: cash gets saved, my face gets wrinkled - where's the fun in that? So I raided the store for various creams, serums, lip balms, and masks on sale, only to find out at the checkout counter that I was short by HK$50. I forgot that I blew a portion of my money on chocolates a few floors away. Glutton. Apologizing profusely, I prepared to withdraw my purchases, but the cashier dumped my items on the counter. "Nonono!" she exclaimed in heavily accented English. "You take away what you don't need, yah? Then I count again for you. S'okay, yah?" I threw out the lip balms (who needs duck lips anyway, when ducks don't even have lips). I was still short by HK$26. Panicked, I fished out a bunch of loose extra coins from my purse. The cashier continued, "I count your coins for you, yah?" And luckily, I had enough to cover the rest of my purchases. No way was I letting go of that collagen serum because my eyebags won't let go of my face. So all bills spent, with a few leftover coins rattling in my pocket, I happily trotted off to better skin and brokedom. Thanks, Mannings, for your helpful staff and cool products.

Prices…read moreare fair and this particular store focuses more on cosmetic products, when compared with the other three, so if you're looking for some of the "older world" products like cold cream, this place has it. This is literally where I shop for cosmetics for my mother or grandmother. The store itself is well lit and clean. In Hong Kong standards, the place is reasonably spacious in Hong Kong standards, and there's a lot of people around to help. Bonjour wasn't particularly busy during my visit, but it's pretty clear that this place is still quite popular amongst mainland tourists.

We were walking past when I saw cute hand sanitizers... Cony (the white bunny) and Brown (the bear) from LINE FRIENDS. I HAD TO get them. This brightly lit shop is cozy with narrow aisles. It's just a convenient place to get some shampoo or bandaids. Service was alright. If I were working here, I would be perturbed by customers who don't have their wallet ready or those who complain about prices... lol! Yes, these people ahead of me in line make the payment process slower. Remember to bring your own package or just drop your purchases in your tote bag! There's so much more to see and do in Hong Kong!

Basically, Mannings is like CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid...you get the drift. The stores vary in size and product availability. The ones at the airport are pretty small, so they mostly have candy, drugs, and toiletries. I usually just stock up on candy here (mainly blackcurrant jelly candy, which is like crack for me). It's surprising that they don't have exorbitant prices for things here, and seem to be similar to prices in other parts of HK. Plus they have sales here too!
