Monki is right next to H&M - and also, in my opinion, the worst H&M there is because it's permanently crowded and they never seem to turn up the air conditioning. So whenever I'm at Langham, I always give the H&M a miss and head straight for Monki. The clothes at Monki range from girly to things you can sort of create a goth look out of, making it a place where everyone can find something that they like. It's one of the few places I know with sizes XXS, so it's great for people who are a little on the smaller size. I've bought everything from nice dresses to basics here and I find that the quality of clothes here is not bad at all. The accessories section at Monki is worth checking out - they have some really cool jewelry like statement necklaces that go great when paired with solid tops. Their stuff doesn't look cheap either. Last year, they were doing a sale on their tote bags, and I was out shopping with a friend from Singapore and she bought 2 back. They were only around $50 each, if I'm not wrong, the designs were cute and the cloth seemed pretty solid and durable. The changing rooms at Monki are really cool - they're filled with mirrors on each side, so looking straight into any one is nothing short of a real life optical illusion! I do wish Monki would have more sales though - usually, they just have one section of stuff on sale and some accessories too. I've never been to Monki and seen that they're having a huge sale. Shopping experience…read more.. Retail therapy is my best relief and here in Hong Kong's Fa Yuen Street Market it definitely was something that I'm so glad to have visited. Nadine and so proudly figured out to navigate our way to this huge area that seem to have the dedicated space for this market which took the whole street. Walking through as I browsed each vendor there seem to be the same of many items which made me confused if it was the same seller or different though some of the prices and various other items differ I wasn't the greatest at bargaining though it was easier if it was just out of curiosity versus a want it was really fun looking through the various items with everything from household to electronics, towels and plushies. Taking the train was definitely fun and easy just find your way to Log Kok Station and there are signs to guide you the way...happy shopping! Thank you!

Fa Yuen Street is another "Night Market" shopping experience…read more The street is blocked off from vehicular traffic and both sides of the street are lined with vendors that block the regular brick and mortar shops along the way. That means there's four rows of shopping! The outdoor ambiance was fine for an October day. The sky was a bit overcast, so we were not burning in the heat. Some stalls weren't set up by noon, but most were open. Vendors didn't bargain much since prices were quite reasonable. Example: I got a pair of socks for 10 HK$ while I got another pair for 12 HK$ at a different place yesterday. Yeah, it's only a few cents difference, but hey... it's the principle. Fa Yuen Street had more fruits, towels, and household goods as compared with the Ladies Market. I saw pillows, curtains, chair covers, blankets, and scissors here. Other merchandise included luggage, purses, tote bags, reusable bags, Thai-style clothing, umbrellas, sunglasses, socks, underwear, and more! For us, it was worth the trek over. We got off at the Mong Kok Station... same one we used for the Ladies Market!

For me, I have mixed feelings: I did love some models and thought some other were a little ridiculous, so much that I wouldn't wear them, I thought. Two pairs made me start thinking of an excuse to get them...a pair of colorful sandals with a bit of a platform and blue leather strips up to the ankle (that were on sale), and some sneakers with details in pink, green and purple of the lift-up type (heel embedded in sole). These were more expensive than the sandals though. I didn't find prices very high considering that they use high quality materials (leather and suede) and they claim to have their shoes handcrafted. I wasn't so keen on their flats, however I cannot deny their personality; in fact some of them are really original, with some messages on the front part of the shoe. They seemed to be quite random though: "seat belt", "stop", "go". Definitely I wouldn't find those same ones anywhere else. They probably are best fit for casual wear, even their high heels, given their colors and patterns. I could also find a few very plain designed flats, but it's definitely not their symbol of identity of the brand.

From high-end brands like Burberry to Nike, along with many local and international stores offering big discounts. As a visitor and first-timer, the mall was a little confusing to navigate at first, but it's very convenient since it's directly connected to the Tung Chung station. There are also restaurants and additional shops outside of the mall area, which gives the area a lively atmosphere. Both the Novotel Citygate Hong Kong and The Silveri Hong Kong hotels are attached, making it super convenient for travelers. One thing about Hong Kong, there are lots of shopping malls. This one I wasn't too impressed with.

I ordered the Tofu and mushroom salad, Thai Chicken skewers, Thai Wings and a strawberry and guava smoothie. The food had amazing flavor and was delicious. Of the dishes the Tofu salad was the best. The Tofu was seasoned and cooked perfectly as were the mushrooms. The portions were large enough and priced accordingly. It's definitely a place I'd recommend when visiting Hong Kong if you're looking to kill a little time before your flight.

Over the next few months, I emerged from the store shopping bag in hand more often than I didn't, When Bershka was replaced by something else about a year ago, I'm not going to lie... I was a little crushed. But ever since I realized that there's a bigger Bershka over at Olympian City in Tai Kok Tsui, I've more than gotten over it. The Bershka here is less crowded than it used to be at Times Square, presumably because of its more offbeat location in Olympic. There's always a section filled with great sales, and it's not like other stores where with things on sale, only the L's and XL's are left - they usually have what I like in my size. And best of all, the changing rooms are great! There are more than five cubicles and they're all pretty spacious. There's hardly a need to line up for the changing rooms, compared to the old one at Times Square - I think I had to queue up every time there! The style at Bershka is pretty diverse - you can find full-on animal print stuff, or you can opt for a basic, solid color tee. They've got super casual tanks and shorts, but if you're attending something more formal like a prize ceremony or a fancy dinner, you'll be able to find something here too. While Bershka is catered to the younger audience, my mother has been able walk out with a couple of buys, so it goes to show that there's something for everyone here! Best of all, Bershka is pretty affordable. Tops on sale aren't usually more than $100, and most of their jeans are on sale right now for just $139! The quality is not bad too. I was like a kid in a candy store who just wanted to try everything! The lady who assisted us was very friendly and patience, even though we did not make any purchases. But she does need a little work on her appearance to keep up with the image of this brand. Other than an oversize sweater and a pair of short over black stocking, maybe pantsuit or even uniform (surprised it's not provided) would be more appropriate?

My sis bought skincare items and the merchandise did not come with a carrier. I get it that we need to protect the environment and use less paper, etc etc.. But this a bit much. My sis has to put her purchase and stuffed it in her designer leather bag. The only thing I like is the grocery store in basement two. So many things to buy and many interesting food items to check out. And yep, we stuffed our groceries in our designer bags too :( Extremely crowded on weekdays evenings and all day on weekends.
