I have been traveling through this airport for years and I only recently discovered this store on my last trip. So if you need to do a google search for more locations, search under the name "Living Plaza by Aeon". Back in New York, the Daiso chain has finally started to make an appearance on the east coast. Their stores are more concentrated in the west coast with a few in the mid west. The airport location is large for an airport store, with a variety of great products! I tell you this from a standpoint of having been abroad in Japan and having seen some of their Daiso locations myself. I feel the need to give this disclaimer: of course it is more cheaper to go visit Daiso in Japan (everything there will be priced starting at 100 yen). If that is not feasible to you, then visiting this store is more reasonable despite the higher cost. (12HKD = 166 yen approximately). After checking in our bags at Terminal 1, we actually walked back all the way to Terminal 2 with our carry-ons (walk took about 12-15 mins walking quickly) in order to visit this store before boarding our flight. If you time it right on your next trip, you too can have a mini speed shopping spree (save room in your carry-on if you can!). I will call this store a higher end dollar store; a dollar store on steroids if you will. They have travel pillows, typical travel accessories you would really need on your journey, but they also offer a great home section: home decor, home organization, kitchen; laundry section (I picked up a cute laundry bag!), a beauty section and much more. The stationary section is so cute. I couldn't decide which pens to buy so I just walked over to the wall and grabbed a whole bunch! They make great souvenirs too and since they are so unique everybody at work will know this pen only belongs to you and you only! As the other reviewer has commented on, the pricing starts at $12 HKD which is affordable. My laundry bag was on the pricier side of $60HKD but if you compare it to something you would buy at typically Bed Bath and Beyond or Target, then I still think it's better due to quality and price comparison. There is a whole section for toys, dishes/bowls, snacks, hobbies (sewing, gardening, etc) and random tools/gadgets. I had found this baby stroller S hook and a baby stroller blanket clamp to secure the blanket from falling out, something I had been searching for in a few Daiso locations in Japan couldn't locate. I gave these out to my expecting friends as gifts (I don't think it's something you think about or see often in use in the US). If I had more room in my suitcase I would have shopped more. The store wasn't crowded when we stopped by and the cashier was friendly and courteous. I believe they accept Octopus card payment/Cash/Credit Card. Left a hefty balance on your Octopus card? Spend it here! For those of you returning to the East Coast, Daiso currently has two stores open: one in Edgewater, NJ by Mitsuwa Market and another in Skyview Center in Flushing, NY (both stores opened in 2019). Most other items that are pricier, like a travel neck pillow will run approximately HK$25 and thick nylon tote bags with zippers for around HK$60. All still very affordable for an airport store! The shop is always neatly organized and the employees are polite and speak English. A plastic shopping bag will run you $0.50. I could spend hours here, but alas, there's a flight to catch!

Love the Supermarket in the basement level. Price might be a little more than getting from other grocery store but the selection here is good and everything so clean! You can find Imports from Japan: Fruits, Seafood, Kobe Beef, you can find here! Plus great place to pick up some cooked food too! They even have Durian from Thailand when it is in season! I am unsure if this was due to more focused branding. There is a good variety of home goods. My first Daiso experience was in Little Tokyo in LA and I would definitely return. Everything is the same price unless there is a sticker/sign indicating otherwise. I enjoy buying bowls and cooking utensils/ items to change your lifestyle.They have molds for heart shaped sushi rolls, onigiri, and cute bowls and jars. There is a section on grooming/accessories/cleaning/cooking/stationary.... need I go on? It is fun to just peruse the aisles. This particular location is in the basement; we walked around in circles before we were able to locate it. Once you walk inside it is like a wonder of products waiting to be discovered. This chain is basically a 100 YEN store, similar concept to a 99 cents store. However, unlike most 99 cents stores, the product quality is better (with the exception of Dollar tree which does sell some brand name products). You will find kitchen items, study essentials, pre packed snacks for kids; all the stuff that you really need if you were to start a family from scratch. Why has it got 5 stars? That's because every time I was instructed by the almighty to find items that I had no interest and no knowledge of finding, I would find it here. Lids for jars of different size? Checked. Cover for the ironing board? Checked. Plastic boxes for organizing stuff at home? Please choose your colour. No matter what the outside world has changed for different times. Wong On remains the same , old fashioned and good quality store for family . Today I was attracted by their jewelry brands and Desigual purses ( designed from Spain ) . House of Amber Jewelry is from Denmark since 1933 . They made the Amber into all kinds of jewelry and they are all beautiful ( rings , pendants, necklace , etc) . This section also had very good quality Amber . Next to that is the pearl jewelry section . The pearls are giant size with satin appearance and soft luminescence. A few jade pendants and rings are next to that . I went upstairs to look at the Spanish design Desigual bags . I did not find the leather bags I wanted but there are lots of different faux leather bags and denim ones. If they are not on sale , then it would not be a good deals . The Wing On in East Tsim Sha Tsui has more items on sale today . You can also buy Desigual bags from website in U.S.A. Macys or Norstrom on line with deals . They are easily returned ( to the store ) for refund if you don't like the size or other reasons in the U.S.A. Wing On has always been known as a more down to earth department store, offering a great variety of clothing, home-wares and other accessories. Even a quick glimpse on their website will show you the variety of the products they stock both online and in store. From baby strollers and kids tea set, to razors and cool boxes, it is a veritable treasure trove of stuff. Unfortunately, the store does have a reputation of being super local, but it in fact stocks a lot of international brands, especially in the household appliances department. Like any department store, there are lots of floors, and plenty of square footage. It's nice and spacious and pleasant enough to browse around. The products are reasonable priced, and are often discounted on top of that. Always ask for discounts, or in store promotions (this in fact goes with any HK shopping, always ask for a discount!). You may find that they will knock a few % off the price, or guide you through some in store promotions. A good example was when Mrs L and I bought some towels. First off, they had this super luxurious UK brand, which is popular back home (certainly with the Queen, no less), but not very known, let alone stocked in Hong Kong. Then on top of having the brand, there was a in-store scratch card lottery to win stuff. We won HKD200 in vouchers to use another time, sweet! Don't let a bit of a "local" reputation put you off, yes the store is full of mainlanders, and the staff speak bobbins English, but if you persevere, you can get some great goods at a low cost.

My sis bought skincare items and the merchandise did not come with a carrier. I get it that we need to protect the environment and use less paper, etc etc.. But this a bit much. My sis has to put her purchase and stuffed it in her designer leather bag. The only thing I like is the grocery store in basement two. So many things to buy and many interesting food items to check out. And yep, we stuffed our groceries in our designer bags too :( Extremely crowded on weekdays evenings and all day on weekends.

It is located very prominently at the intersection of Jordan Road and Kowloon's main commercial artery Nathan Road. Back in 1995, when I lived in Hong Kong for 4 months on a work assignment, this was one of the stores I would occasionally putz around in. And now in 2024, 29 years later, it is virtually the same and it's like having walked through a time warp. It's like the old-fashioned flagship version of Macy's of Hong Kong and a store full of traditional Chinese goods and products, and some of them exotic. What struck me the most, and I recall the same sentiment back in 1995, was the number of staffers they have. It seems there are more of them than customers, and there are a lot of customers in this 5 story (plus fully stocked basement) store! Some practices are still antiquated. For example, the sister-in-law wanted to buy some dry goods in the basement, and there was an advertised 20% off promotion. To get the promotion, she had to go up to a clerk on the 5th floor to get her receipt hand-stamped. Then she returned to the basement to complete the transaction. It all took maybe 20 minutes, but it did allow us to use their interestingly tiny and slow elevator. As a tourist, it's worth a walk-through just to say you've seen the store and the surrounding historic Nathan Road shopping area.

To combat the heat at night, I cherished the cotton weave breathable blankets that you could only buy in Hong Kong. When I got older, I tried finding one in the states (specifically, NYC Chinatown), but to no avail. So, I would ask my Uncle to help me get one whenever he went back for a visit. Well, this store, Yue Hwa, still has these special blankets for sale. Even though I have 3 of them, I just couldn't help buy another. This store is huge, and I haven't had the time to really browse properly, but I really like what I've seen so far. You can really find some traditional things here, but it can be on the expensive side.
