Situated mid-way on Sai Sha road between Ma On Sham and Saikung, you will find yourself driving into a small village road at first and then turning into this great big opening as if you have just left Hong Kong. there is ample parking for everyone here (and admittedly difficult to get to by public transport). There are 100 bays for you to practice your swings, as well as a 19th hole, pitching/ bunker practice area as well as a putting green. The entire range is dedicated to perfecting your play on the green. The lane fees are reasonable at 100 HKD/ hr and as many balls as your back will allow you to take a swing at- other practice areas are separately priced and as of writing I have not tried them personally- but they do look kosher enough. There is a small café/ food kiosk on site where visitors usually grab a drink or a bite after an intense practice session. Kids love it here because there is a lot of grass land around where they can go nuts. The only complaint that I would have with the location is that changing facilities are rather primitive and the bays are getting a bit tired with use and I don't foresee any plans to upgrade them. Anyhow, for this sort of price and without the need for membership; I can live with it.

Clubbing it…read more.. Nothing prepared me for how we were taken care of so luxurious while we were taken on a one day city tour of Hong Kong Island and a friend of a tour member had offer to take us around has made all the arrangements which is no great feat and dinner was at a restaurant in the Hong Kong Golf Club. Located near Repluse Bay Beach which was an insane gathering place with large tour buses lined up forever because it was late it was a bit difficult to see as there isn't much lighting though we were shown a little of the greens is quite interesting knowing that the restaurant is right along it giving it a lovely view for guests dining on the terrace but we were upstairs and what a lovely place. Food kept coming starting with crispy duck, lettuce wrap, sweet sour pork and more that I just can't remember but one thing that I did was the dessert...something that I haven't had ever is a "Baked Alaska" and you know the flambé was so amazing though I don't believe I got a pic of the inside as the staff cut it up for us all and served it was a delight. Love this unique experience that made me feel so special to walk in like a member and leaving with full happy belly with the stunning view of the nightlights is the best way to enjoy Hong Kong. Thank you!

Dinner in Hong Kong…read more.. Our friend, Andrew, is a member of the Hong Kong Golf Club and he wanted to bring our group to dinner here. We walked on the putting green so that he could show us the outside of the building... because the building is 120 years old! Andrew ordered fancy dishes like Peking Duck... it was made into two dishes. The first was crispy duck skin, wrapped in a thin crepe filled with plum sauce, cucumber, and green onion. The second was lettuce wraps filled with the duck meat and topped with plum sauce. Other dishes included stewed veggies in hom ha (preserved shrimp) sauce, tofu with salted fish (hom ngee), shrimp with long rice, sweet sour pork, deep fried wrap with veggies, and baked Alaska for dessert. I didn't get some photos since I was with non-yelp people who just dig into the food... LOL! Service was excellent! They filled our teapots with hot water and presented ouour Baked Alaska with flair! Thanks to Andrew for this unique dining experience!

This combined with the exceptional (yet causal) and authentic hospitality at every service touchpoint made for a truly outstanding guest experience. * * * * * Strokes is a well-designed space; it's cheeky and comfortable, with a variety of seating areas and furniture types to ensure an effortless sense of comfort. The interior decor--a pastel colour palette with brass accents, velvet and wood-accent furniture, and retro-inspired accessories--establishes a relaxed atmosphere. The selection of games and entertainment are accessible and engaging to both children and adults, including 9/18 holes of miniature golf (ranging in difficulty), table tennis, and arcade-style video games. After devouring a collection of truly impressive and dynamic small plates and main dishes, it is clear why Chef Chris has such genuine enthusiasm and pride in his culinary work, particularly in the recently revamped Strokes menu. From the small plates menu, we thoroughly enjoyed the Fried Brussels Sprouts, as well as the Keto Moco--one divinely prepared fried egg on top of a (substituted) Beyond Meat patty, resting on a bed of cauliflower couscous and generously surrounded with savoury mousse. In a tasting of the large plates menu, the Pork Belly with Pandan Gremolata was expertly prepared and our absolute favourite--the exterior was golden and crisp, while the meat was tender, juicy, and flavourful with the perfect balance of fat, salt, and zest. A unique and refreshing bite was the Tangy Pomelo Salad--a seemingly effortless balance of fresh and crisp textures with sweet, sour, and salty flavours. We also demolished the Animal Burger (substituted a Beyond Meat patty) with Fries--a classic snack that was, like all of the previous dishes, perfectly prepared, and satisfying. The bar features the usual beer, wine, and liquor, however, the bartenders prepared several specialty cocktails that were delicious and thoughtfully crafted to complement the specific Malaysian-influenced flavours of the small and large plates. Our experience was flawless. We look forward to our next visit, largely due to the truly exceptional food, fun atmosphere, and unmatched hospitality.

Gigasports is a mega store for sports goods, in fact it is a giga store for sports goods (that's…read more1000 times better than a mega store - whoop!). I particularly like the location in Pacific Place, as it is large, carries a good stock, both on display and "out the back", and often has sales on, on top of their regular discounts. The store stocks all types of shoes, clothing and accessories for sports, primarily; running, fitness, basketball, racquet sports, swimming (which many other sport stores don't cater to), footy, and general outdoor (hiking, etc). It is mainly shoes and clothes, with some things like bags, swimming goggles, medical supports. They don't stock a great deal of kit like balls or tennis racquets, so if you need specific sports equipment, you may have to look elsewhere. The store is well laid out, by sport, department, and brand, so things are easy to find. Staff are on standby to help, and can be helpful to the point of pestering, but they do have to make a buck I suppose. When you buy, always ask for a discount. Nine out of ten, they will apply the 5-10% membership discount, regardless of whether or not you are a member. This store in particular, impresses me with their range of swimming gear. As well as swimwear, they have loads of goggles, including prescription lenses, waterproof mp3 players, and floats and accessories. The stock is large compared to other stores. They also have a dedicated kids department, and a good Columbia concession with loads of wicking clothing.

I had been looking around Wan Chai for some of those but the best deals I could get were still not that great value for money (okay design and too pricey for their quality). Wan Chai has great stores for branded trainers; prices are half the ones at Giga Sports, but I suspect they're also from previous collections. However today I was after some tights and sports bras. I was impressed by the size of the store: they have a few sections by brand and sport. There's a specific one on fitness which I went to check out. Unfortunately they only had a couple of tights from Adidas, but they were around 250HKD, which is much cheaper than other stores. Their range of bras is great though, and they have the same price (so it's pretty much average). There were some more clothes on the running section and even the tennis one, but for the size of the store it didn't seem much. They're not a specialized store. Instead they have multiple sections with a few items, including swimming and golf, and a corner devoted to hiking products. There is way too much staff in this place though, but nobody approached me to help, which was fine as I could find what I was after quite easily. I picked up a brochure I saw at the fitness section and I'm browsing through it, got hooked on their Adidas tights and will come back for them!
