Its very rare that you are allowed to let your dog off their leads in Hong Kong without the fear of them running off. This dog run is fully covered for that very reason. A lot of locals in the area will bring their friendly furry friends here for a little exercise every day/night. If you come often enough, it won't be long before you start having conversations with the people (and dogs) that come the same time as you. Everyone is very friendly, and for the dogs that are a bit more rough not he edges, there is a fenced area within this park for you. The regulars are very good at cleaning up after their dogs. For those that come once a month, not so much. The best time to come would be before dusk so there are no surprises or chances of you stepping into a pile of literal crap. The space is cleaned every morning by government workers and the they do a good job. Of course, they do the best they can because in the end, its a dog park. There will be urine smells and poop the usual smell that comes with having 100s of dogs visit daily. There are actual sandpits for dogs to do their business, but not all dogs go there. Some dogs just like grass better? lol They also have some portable toilets available inside that park. The park closes promptly at midnight. The lights go out and the people come by to kick you out and lock up for the night. Next day, repeat. =)

There is a nice sidewalk along the waterfront that is popular with joggers and romantic couples alike. One weekends the greenspace is typically filled with families out enjoying the weather. For dog owners, the park also houses a pet garden (dog park) located very close to the Macau Ferry Terminal building adjacent to the Central Police Station. Offering a fairly large section of grass surrounded by bushes, the garden has two water spigots and semi-covered seating for owners. Bring your own water bowl to fill up however, as your pooch will get thirsty. This is a favorite destination of our pug.

You're going to need that mosquito repellant! They're crazy bite-y in this park, so I suggest going with maximum DEET. And maybe layer that with a repellant bracelet. And anklet. And reapply that spray! In the early days before I wised up about using protection - mosquito repellant - I once counted 60+ bites between both of my legs. Nightmare! Sasha (my dog) is quite social and loves chasing his new friends around, playing ball, and socializing. I've also made some human friends that I look forward to seeing on weekdays! On the weekends we tend to go somewhere much nicer - like Stanley, Shek O or even Cyperport. You may not find much grass here, but your dog will enjoy the park nevertheless!

Quite a spectacular view, and unique to Hong Kong. People do Tai Chi, group dances, fishing and jogging around the park. Walking along the harbor trail leads you to close to North Point. There is a pets' park towards the end. On the weekends, you can see pet owners with all their cute doggies chilling. Right next to the Harbor Park is Soho East, there is a large variety of restaurants there. A great place to explore dinner options!
