I did not think that I would join one of those but back then as the public examination slowly approached, everyone was scrambling on getting their hands on notes, and I ended up joining one with a few fellow classmates. The first impression about this place was - did I just walk into a factory? There was nothing fancy about this place like other tutorial schools in Hong Kong where teachers are branded and promoted as celebrities on a fashion show. (To be honest, lots of so-called teachers are fresh-graduate and they got all those publicity from promotion, which does not reflect on their ability to teach) Anyways, with this place, it is rather down-to-earth. No gimmick. No spending hours watching videos. No 'teachers' spending half their lesson bragging how good they are and telling corny jokes. Here, they only have one teacher. He might seem rather unprofessional at first glance, (actually reminded me of Mr. Long Hair), but it seemed to be he was a rather passionate individual and he devoted himself greatly in helping students improve their English and his motto is "Make a difference in English we can". It was never fun to have extra hours on classes after regular schools so some of my fellows stopped coming not long afterwards. However, for me, I did attend all the lessons I signed up for (maybe be for 2 months) and I was glad I did. I will not say that it is the best I have seen as I firmly believe language cannot be improved through drilling papers. It has more to do with ones' motivation and determination. If you do want to rely on some extra helps, I would recommend you coming here instead of those centres where you just sit alone watching videos...
