They have boxes of drinks of the table, so you can quench your thirst as you try on the frames or wait for the optometrist. Their prices are really good, a few friends I know, and I myself included, come here to get our glasses when they come for a visit, as the price is much better than in the US even with insurance coverage.

Stepping in, we know why the service at MK sucks. The owner is spending her time here. Needless to say, every employee here provides top notch service. I have eyecare insurance in U.S. but I still like to come here for my glasses, because I enjoy shopping here so much. They have over 5000 styles of frame for you to choose from, from name brands that costs thousands of dollars to ones that costs only a hundred or two, from Korea, that still look very cool. You simply grab a tray, try the frames on at random, and put your maybes into the little tray to make your final decision later. Fun and pressure free. The staff pretty much leave you alone, though if you ask, they will gladly give you suggestions to fit your preference: lighter ones, trendy ones, ones that fit the shape of your face... They never try to upsell me for more expensive frames or lens options, but genuinely help me get something I'd like. They will also gladly adjust your old glasses for you or do simple repair at no charge. Chau, who's helpful with his suggestions and opinions, helped us narrow down our many choices to one. Then Paul the optician will exam your eyes. He's totally great. Humorous, personable in an easy-going manner, so you can discuss your optical needs with him. If yours is a simple prescription, you may get your glasses in 10-15 minutes, special orders may take a few days. I spent about US$400 for eye exams (for both contact and glasses, in US my insurance covers only one, and the exam includes eye pressure too when I asked), a pair of eyeglasses, and 6 boxes of contacts.

It is much more affordable to buy glasses in HK than in the US (even with vision insurance!). I picked out a pair of glasses, with the prescription lens and the frame, my total was about $1000 HKD (about $127 USD). My brother purchased some prescription sunglasses and regular glasses. They have a variety or brands and some frames as cheap as $300 HKD. They sometimes can have your order finished by the end of the day or the next business day. Mine was ready the next business day afternoon (we ordered on a Friday early afternoon). The overall process is quick, easy, and no-fuss. Prices are competitive and they give you some lens cleaning cloths as well!

The hotel is connected to the Langham Place Mall on Level 4 via a shelter walkway across Shanghai Street. Langham Place is the largest shopping mall in Mong Kok. The 15-floor (+ 2 basement levels) mall with 180,000 sq ft of shopping space has over 200 shops and eateries, and direct access to the Mong Kok MTR in the basement level, making it very convenient to stay at the Cordis Hotel. I can't believe that the mall is already 21 years old. It still looks modern and funky. It has a 9-storey glass atrium that makes it look very airy with natural light during the day. There are many eateries and a food court on Level 4, plus many more restaurants and eateries dispersing throughout different levels of the mall. There is a long escalator going up from L4 to L8, and then another one from L8 to L12. There are also shorter escalators going up the floors after the long ones. The best strategy to browse the mall is to take either the escalators or elevators to the highest floor of the mall (supposed to be L15), and then work your way down by walking. It took me about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to do so. But it depends on whether you have something to shop for, or just browsing. I like to look at the cute things in the gift shops or toy stores. In my trip back in March, 2025, I purchased a Lulu the Pig disguised as Ne Zha. It was so cute and a great buy, it was on sale for HK$100 (US$13), down from HK$700 (US$90). However, the rest of the merchandises were at full price. We like the restaurants at the hotel, but have also tried different eateries in the mall. There are so many different cuisines to try. In our most recent trip in October, I noticed a big sign announcing that "Din Tai Fung is coming soon"! For a DTF fan like me, this is really great news. It is going to be close by Orchid Padaria Café (one of our favorite Cha Chaan Teng) on Level B2. I really look forward to dining in there when it opens! The Langham Place mall is an air-conditioned oasis in Mong Kok. It provides free WiFi, free parking, and long opening hours. It constantly attracts a lot of people. If you are not used to places with dense population, I suggest that you don't venture out there on Fridays, weekends, or any holidays, so that it would not be too overwhelming. Give it a try on a "slow" day first. Have fun!
