Delicious, recommend trying this czech dish. During summer, make sure to make a reservation, they do get very busy.

Best meal in Cesky. Stopped in for the rabbit duck terrine/country pate. Not much to look at but nicely done. I don't care for rye bread but the berry jam was a nice accompaniment. I decided to order an entree after testing the appetizer. The waitress recommended duck or beef cheek. I went with the later in a red wine sauce. Scrumptious. Meat was very tender over a velvety mash and topped with roasted carrot slivers. The garnishes were superfluous. Wish the wine sauce was more pronounced. Some things to note. It is located in a stairwell leading to the castle. I thought about leaving when the inside was a bit dark and did not offer much of a view. Tough call on a beautiful day. Also the staff are a bit too nonchalant. Glad I stayed. My premonitions were reaffirmed as multiple tour guides recommended this spot.

Svejk is a nice, cozy restaurant in the old town part of Cesky Krumlov. It has plenty of seating and many of the tables offer a view of the town. Service was friendly and quick here. My friend and I got the braised beef cheeks and the roasted pork shoulder, all of which tasted quite good. I found the pork shoulder to be a bit dry at spots, so the gravy was definitely appreciated. It had a nice smoky flavor to it, so it hits the spot especially well when it's cold outside. My friend said the beer was really good here.

My friends and I went for a dinner here. The place was packed and they only had one table for two. We didn't mind it so we settled in. After a while some nice couple offered to exchange tables and we had a space just enough for three of us. My husband and I ordered some beef and potato dumplings (knedlik) from their daily menu - it was delicious! We ordered some other things and they were great. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cozy. The waitress was nice as well. I recommend.

Visited Cesky Krumlov back in April. Our tour guide recommended this place for a good, traditional Czech meal, so we heeded her words and went over! Good choice: prices were reasonable, and the food was plentiful. Ordered a kulajda (mushroom-dill) soup for starters: broth was clear and well-seasoned, then rabbit as the main dish. The meat was tender, but didn't find the taste any different than that of chicken. Still good, though. Came with a generous portion of mashed potatoes, so I'm not complaining. Overall, a solid place for hearty, generous portions of traditional Czech cuisine. I recommend!

Good food. Traditional czech offerings. We did not have to wait too long. Would recommend it.

We sat in the smaller room on the right, which also has a heating stove for the cooler days. And huge, spacious terrace in the summer, which we didn't get to utilize as it wasn't that warm when we were there. The wait staff was fast, easy going and attentive to our needs. The walls arch quite a bit, as my husband found out, when he bumped his head. That shows to pay more attention in historical buildings, such as this one. They have good variety of traditional Czech dishes. The menu is both in Czech and English. We ordered: Home-made liver pate with onion marmalade and bread. It was so good, we basically "woofed it down" and ordered another one. Home-made cabbage soup - thick, hot and delicious. Definitely hit the spot. Beef goulash with dumplings - the quality of meat was first class. Classic dish that you can't go wrong with. Roast pork with cabbage and dumplings - the most traditional dish you can possibly order in Czechia. It was divine. Mulled wine - which was my most favorite part of the dinner :) Highly recommend trying this place out when visiting Cesky Krumlov, you won't regret it.

Ordered two sausages and got a sausage and pickled cheese. Both were awful. The pickled cheese is "smelly" cheese. Tried to tell the waitress we didn't order the cheese. Not sure what will happen with the check- update they charged us for everything including the food we didn't order. Also we didn't eat any of it. Just paid it and left. Loud beer hall atmosphere. Also ordered the strudel. It was decent. Hot and tasty. Not very sweet. Service was slow and not so friendly. The wait staff was busy so I do understand that. Much better places to go. Only came here because it was next door to our hotel.

See my photos, you can pick between 5 different main courses, each sounding so tempting! I went with the meatloaf with mashed potatoes...the Czech version of meatloaf was meaty, magically seasoned, and delicious! The potatoes were so creamy, lots of butter? The pumpkin soup was so aromatic and fragrant, and equally wonderful going into mouth. The meal also came with a unique tomato salad, that I don't know how to describe, but it was very fresh and lovely. Sponge Roll with Parisian cream for 60CZK/$2.70...the best $2.70 I've ever spent. Everything was so delicious that I ordered the dessert: Sponge Roll with Parisian cream. The sponge cake was light and fluffy, the chocolate cream was perfection. 62CZK/$2.80 500ml Kozel Dark Beer...I love this country! Staff was all very friendly, the interior was modern and chic, but I choose to sit outside in the lovely garden patio area. Unfortunately I was only in Cesky Krumlov for 2 nights, and I didn't have time to have another meal here.
