The mall itself is covered but has sections that are open to the elements including rain. It's a nice feature which keeps the air fresh, it doesn't have that plastic chemical smell of most malls. They even have a few areas with outdoor lounge chairs. Good variety of stores and they have an excellent food court with typical fast food and some nice looking table service restaurants. On the top floor they have a big movie theater playing French and American movies. There is also a cool art exhibit located in the mall and it appears that it is also used as a night club with DJ and bar.

Nevertheless you can find everything you want in a bunch of different shops and restaurants without losing time waiting in a queue. I prefer Confluence to Part-Dieu in term of ambiance and people. :)

Shopping, shopping and shopping…read more Located across from the main train station, they have so many shops here for most everyone. Most shops sell reasonably priced items. I wasn't looking but not sure if they have high end stuff here but I guess that's what Paris is for. If I wasn't here on business, I think I would have enjoyed shopping here and possibly purchased a suitcase to take stuff home. I didn't buy anything (no rooms in my small carryon), but walked around to compare pricing with similar quality items in the US.

There is a nice Migros in the basement, a Paylot, a small sized Denner, Cats & Dogs, three cafe's, clothing stores, 5 sec laundromat, Inter discount, Sun pharmacy, Ecole Migros school, etc. There is also a covered parking with 700 spaces, and the first hour is free.

For any Brits it is a bit like stepping back in time going to shopping centres around here. Don't get me wrong, the shopping centres are very nice, if you like that sort of thing, but it is a bit of a shock to see C&A (in Blaexert but not at Val de Thoiry) again and does Etam still exist in the UK?
