A gem in one of the most beautiful sea resorts in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This is simply awesome…read more My wife and I went there having already read pretty good reports about this place. We were in for a very big and pleasant surprise: the restaurant itself, its great decoration and furniture which give a soul and a feeling one would have in an old library. Extremely cosy and warm, one could spend hours here. The service was impeccable, friendly and professional, on arrival and during our meal. We had a stunningly tasty pear and celery soup as a starter ( Birnen Selleriecremesuppe). We then each had the 'Himmel und Erde' ( black pudding with applesauce and mashed potatoes) and the 'Edel-Labskaus', specialities from Germany both of which we very much recommend. The quality and the sauces with the meat were particularly delicious. We couldn't resist ordering dessert and it is actually clever of them to offer smaller portions of creme brulee and chocolate tart which were both excellent. The wine we had was equally good. Why 5 stars? because for the price it was simply perfect, neither cheap nor expensive. We will definitely return there on our next visit to Binz.

During our visit to Rugen, we stopped here to get some coffee, cake and pasta for our little one…read more We ordered a hot chocolate, latte, apple strudel, the sanddorf desert, and a kids pasta. The food took forever to come out. The apple strudel was very good, tasted homemade. The sanddorf desert was also pretty good and its something unique to the area. The pasta however was horrible. Tasted straight out of a can. If the service was faster and the pasta better it would have earned more stars.

I had the 3 fish fillets with Saffron rice and it was great. The service was very good too despite the place being full. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table but that was all. My son managed to spill his drink 3 minutes after it was brought to the table and the server brought over a stack of napkins for us within a few second. Total price for 2 Entrees, a kids plate of noodles, 1/2 litre beer, 2 small waters & the spilled Apfelsaftschorle, ended up being EUR35.50 so it was the cheapest we have had so far.
