The menu is standard biergarten food and drink. They had two alcohol free beers by the bottle in addition to regular. I got a Tucher Reifbräu alcohol free. It was okay - easy to drink but too light for my taste (I've had richer alcohol free beers so I know that's not it). Fun to try though. The dish I got was "Fried camembert with salads, cranberry, and bread". I think this would have been appropriate to share between two people if it were paired with an appetizer - the cheese was actually not as heavy as I expected, but it came with 6 slices of bread which was way too much for me. I was able to finish most of the cheese, half of the bread, and all of everything else. It was a really well-executed dish though! There were three different types of bread, all of which were great, the breading on the cheese was nice, and even the salad dressing was really good and went well with the cranberry. I think the prices on the menu are appropriate (lots of stuff in the €10-15 range) considering it's good quality food with hearty portions.

The patio overlooks the Tiergaertner Tor Platz and it was crowded like a beehive tonight. Great ambiance all together. The staff was very attentive and we didn't seem to have an assigned server as any of them passing by checked to see if we needed anything. The menu here changes often, but also has a few staples and some innovative takes on our Franconian dishes. So we discovered Pretzel pizza... I was suspicious at first, reading the list of ingredients, but threw caution in the wind and went for the Franconian version (my friend opted for the Vegetarian). It really did sound horrible... laugen dough (which is what pretzels are made of), Schmarrn (related to sourcream, or cream cheese, but not quite the same), local brats, kraut, cheese and tomatoes. I was prepared for a nightmare... but it ended up being delicious. The pizzas were served with a mini salad topping the middle of it. The dough was nice and thin and had that typical nice chewy crust all around. The ingredients worked surprisingly well together, but could have done without the tomatoes. Visually they were a nice pop of colors, but tastewise they had no business on the Franconian Pretzel pizza. I didn't try the vegetarian version, but my friend, who is a tiny person, ate the entire thing, whereas I could only finish half of mine. So I would say she enjoyed it. I had the pana cotta with blueberry compote and was delighted to see the compote made from the small blueberries I grew up with instead of these huge overbred tasteless blueberries so common nowadays. Each main dish comes with house salad on the side. You can tell that this restaurant is for local family gathering. They are famous for their pork shoulder dish. We ordered their homemade soups (Horseradish creamy soup and garlic & chive soup - very creative recipe only found at this place :) also ordered spaetzle (Germany egg noodles) with deep fried onions on the top is very interesting dish (one of food must try when visiting Germany. Overall the food and dinning experience was memorable!!!!

Got a Rotbier as well. Unfortunately, the spätzle arrived lukewarm, which disappointed me. Looking back, it would've been wiser to have ordered the Franconian dishes on the menu instead. Nevertheless, the beer was pretty good, the ambiance was pleasant, and prices were well-affordable. There's also a beautiful Biergarten right outside, which had a small Christmas market going on when I visited. Would like to return someday to try more of its selection. Let's hope!

I came across this hidden gem through reddit. This restaurant is nestled up on one of the side streets more in an alleyway. I ordered an aperol spritz as well as a full order of the Braised onion soup which had franconia onion sauce and delicious homemade potato balls *chefs kiss* my mother had the same but half the portion including the wine soup which she loved!
