The chef behind the counter is very friendly and always happily greets you. The wait staff is friendly and the girl there has such a pretty smile and will help you with the menu if you only read and speak English. This also goes for the gentleman that waited on me as well. The way this place works is they have a changing menu everyday with an appetizer, 3-4 main dishes usually and one that's fish and the rest either a stuffed pasta or noodle based with a very gourmet feel and taste. This place is definitely a fine Italian restaurant with a semi-casual feel. The noodles in all the dishes I've had were superbly cooked never overcooked and just flawless. They even had a dish with truffle that I don't recall it's name but it was just phenomenal. I seriously cannot over-stress the quality of this place enough. One great thing about this place is it's across the street from Siemens MRI factory and training center. I recommend this place to anyone.

I would recommend ordering more unusual dishes as they are better prepared. Seems the chef doesn't put much effort into a regular salad, for example, while dishes with special sauces are out of this world! Put this restaurant on your list!

In the brochure, they mention three menus, but as it was already quite late, only the choices on the slate remained as an option. The cuisine was very good - my calf liver exactly right with a very light rösti on the side. My companion has grilled tuna on rucola which was also perfectly done. The only drawback was that the waiter was clearly not very well aware of what was on the wine list, and we had almost finished our dinner before we finally got the one I had selected. He did remain friendly though..

To rate La Tapa is not easy! So, I have to write down two ratings, "Meal" and "Service"…read more The easy one first. Meal 5 stars Wow, hands down, good as it gets does not come close. You get complimentary bread with garlic butter (however it seams they do it with mayonnaise, which is not as good as I think) and that tastes really good. So you must watch out not to eat too much of that. And by the way, if you finished your basket full of bread you get another one. I ordered five starters / tapas as a main dish and the portion of each is large. Either the meat or the various fish / seafood I had or the roasted spicy sausage: it is just delicious. And even if you are full, it tastes so good you can not stop eating. In addition to the garlic butter I would like to express that there are better Catalan Creams as in La Tapa. Service 2 stars (if not just one) Well, it takes quite a while until you receive your order. We spent a total of three hours there. But I would like to say: hase makes waste. So maybe all of the orders are done just after you ordered them and nothing is pre-arranged. Another point is the waiter wanted to serve us two not ordered meals. On the contrary two persons of our group had to ask twice to get their ordered drinks. And the last negative aspect we faced nearby our table were a group of regular guests. And they were treated way to obvious like kings. Well, it is ok to treat such guest like that. But then have them seated not in the center of the restaurant where everyone can see the two-class society. If you can life with the not perfect service than it is a must-go.
