Zumiez is my son's happy place. If it comes from Zumiez, it automatically passes the "cool enough for an 18-year old" test.
They carry a solid mix of skate and urban wear, graphic tees, hoodies, Vans, Nike sneakers, and yes... even those lewd/funny stickers that teens love (whether they're going on notebooks, bumpers, or somewhere else entirely is anyone's guess). The overall vibe is definitely geared toward a younger crowd, probably mid-teens to early twenties.
Walking into the store feels like a mashup of a Spencer's (shoutout to my fellow 80's babies ) and an underground hip-hop cypher. The music is always bumping...old school mixed with new hip-hop, and fair warning, the lyrics are not censored. It's loud, energetic, and unapologetically youth-driven.
What really stands out to me is the service. I've visited this location several times, and the associates are consistently friendly, engaged, and eager to help. Most of the time, my son already knows exactly what he wants, but it's nice knowing the staff is there if we need them.
Is this my first choice for buying my kid clothes? Not necessarily. Are the prices a little high in my opinion? Absolutely. But they do run sales from time to time, and honestly... the kid likes what he likes.
If you're shopping for trendy clothes for a teen or young adult, Zumiez is definitely worth a stop. read more
