Came here for dinner while touring Germany and Switzerland with my son and girlfriend. It was pretty crowded and we were lucky to get a table outside in the beer garden right away. It was about as idyllic as you can get: beautiful summer night without a cloud in the sky, live music from an accordion player, excellent food and beer... Our waiter was incredibly friendly and fast. We only wanted one round of beers but when we finished, no less than three different waiters asked if we wanted another round. We all ordered Allgäuer Kässpatzen (German mac and cheese as I usually describe it to Americans) which was delicious. Highly recommend this place! read more

Nice place if you like a Beerhall setting (including waiting staff in Lederhosen/Dirndel). Enjoyed their Käsespätzle and Junger Schweinebraten. May go back to try their Schnitzel of the Day special for 8.80 Euro before 5pm. read more

Die Historie des Brauereiausschanks "zum Wilde Männle" Seit über 75 Jahren verbindet der Original Brauereiausschank "Zum Wilde Männle in Deutschlands südlichster Marktgemeinde auf angenehme Art die Allgäuer Tradition mit moderner Gastronomie. Die enge Verbindung zwischen dem Allgäuer Brauhaus und der Marktgemeinde Oberstdorf reicht über 80 Jahre zurück. 1926 übernahm Kommerzienrat Hans Schnitzer von seinem Kollegen Carl Richter die Brauerei zur Sonne. Den dazugehörigen Sonnenkeller an der Oststraße hatte 1909 Gastwirt Franz Xaver Berkmann gekauft. Bis Ende 1934 betrieben Adolf und Anna Zöpf (geborene Berkmann) das Gasthaus und übergeben es dann ebenfalls an das Allgäuer Brauhaus. Oberstdorf galt damals schon als "berühmter Hochgebirgskurort und Wintersportplatz von Ruf" mit einer vorzüglichen Verkehrsanbindung, sprich Bahnhof in der Ortsmitte. Als das Allgäuer Brauhaus 1936 eine Weizenbierstube im Sonnenkeller eröffnen wollte, schlugen die Marktgemeinderäte vor, den "gegenwärtige

19 h Empfang mit Aperitivwir haben uns auf einen schönen gemütlichen Abend und ein tolles Menü zum Ende des Jahres gefreutaber, es kam alles anders: Restaurant war voll, es war sehr viel Servicepersonal anwesend, aber in der Küche hatten anscheinend einige Köche Urlaub Wir wollten den Zwischengang (Lachsfilet) auslassen, da die Wartezeiten zwischen den einzelnen Gängen zwischen 30 und 60 Minuten dauerte, und dies bei einem 7-Gangmenü zum Preis von EUR 59.00 p.P. uns definitiv zu lange dauerte, da wir das Neue Jahr nicht im Restaurant beginnen wollten und uns ab 23 h verabredet hatten. Wir dachten, daß wir das Menü nach 4 Stunden gemütlich beendet hätten. Das Essen war qualitativ okayaber: Vielleicht sollte sich der 'Küchenchef' mal bei den 'Kochprofis' über ein besseres Zeitmanagment in der Küche kündig machen Die Musik entsprach nicht unserem Geschmack und dem Anlass für einen schönen Sylvesterabend, die Zeit wurde dadurch nicht verkürztleider!!! read more
