An ambitious idea for such a young chef, starting a Bavarian fusion new cuisine restaurant in the…read moremiddle of the countryside... but after two visits I can honestly say he and the team at Michaels are pulling it off! Clearly he has good connections to either local hunters or a good meat supplier because we've sampled the beef filet, deer and goose and found them all to be top quality. His menu is inventive and quite large, offering regular favorites as well as a seasonal menu with 3, 4 or 5 courses - all reasonably priced. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed with lots of separate rooms and corners so families can feel free to enjoy without bothering the couples dining without children. Overall we were quite pleased and have no major criticism. We only hope they are able to get the word of mouth around fast enough to gain the customer base they will need to survive. We are doing our part because we'd like to enjoy their kitchen's offerings for years to come.
