The staff are friendly and helpful, and always have the best recommendations if you're overwhelmed with all the choices in the menu. The food is so flavorful and enriching that it makes me home-sick, and the dish is decorated beautifully to take an instagram-worthy pic. That said, the food itself was very good for being a Pan-Asian restaurant smack-dab in the middle of Germany. The larger main courses were more in the varietal Teishoku style, and their sushi rolls were as good as any you'd eat in the San Francisco Bay Area (which is to say ... pretty good!). The one thing that put a bit of a damper on the dinner for me was that I'd ordered a half-liter of beer, and asked once again if it was coming out as it had been a while. Well, two different servers returned with a half-liter each, so I had to gulp down a liter of beer in front of my friend's family which probably didn't look so good. :-P Other than that, Vinami was very good. I would come here again, only next time I'll be sure to ask ONE person for a beer and ask only them if it takes a while to come out.

The portion was fairly large which was nice, and the wait staff was very kind. I think for the most part, people will enjoy this place. It just leans much much closer to American-Chinese food. Even for American-Chinese food, though, it really did lack any sort of ethnic zing.

The preparations are all smothered in sweet sauce and mayo that isn't listed on the menu description for the dish. The rice was old and dry. It's - just not sushi. Worse - they have displays all over the restaurant with slide shows of nice fish, real wasabi root, elegant rolls - none of it is in the restaurant.
