Without dipping sauce, it tasted delicious. Hot green tea came in a nice tea pot and cup having a nice jasmine flavor. Seafood noodle soup was delicious and perfect for the code weather. The seafood pieces were small with right taste of seafood. Noodle amount was just right for the soup. lots of slices of veggies I really liked. Overall a great price to eat with acceptable price.

The only okay thing I can say is that the service is decent. Garlic grilled chicken (2/5) this is borderline 1/5 but at least it's edible. Chicken was not cooked consistently. Hmm why? There were chicken pieces of a range of sizes so they didn't cook evenly. Also I could barely taste the garlic. The chicken also didn't have texture as it didn't seem to be grilled. If that chicken was served to me on a plain white dish, I wouldn't be able to tell if it were stir fried or boiled. Minus points on all 3 fronts: texture, flavor, and consistency. Saving grace is that it's edible Seafood pancake (2/5) Similar comments to garlic grilled chicken. Bland and no crunch/texture. It felt as if I were eating an enchilada but with even less texture. Barely any seafood in there. Bland. Same comments as chicken Price was also not justified by what you get

Poseidon was a wonderful and unexpected hole-in-the-wall find. At first, we didn't know what to…read moreexpect, as the restaurant appeared fairly empty, with the exception of a bored-looking couple seated outside, and the owners friends, seated at a table inside by the kitchen. The restaurant had a dark allure to it, only to be lit brightly by the warm hospitality of its owner. We sat at a humble, candlelit booth for two. The menu was fairly extensive but very reasonably priced. We proceeded to order a couple of (non-alcoholic) beers, and some tzatziki and grilled garlic bread as starters. Let's get into details about the food. [[Tzatziki]] - this was, hands down, the best I've ever had. It looks so simple, yet it was an explosion of flavors. It was perfectly cool and refreshing from the cucumbers, and flavorful with all of the garlic. The yogurt they use is superior to that of America, so it was creamier and thicker. It was so good, we ordered two! [[Garlic Bread]] - though simple, and nothing far-fetched from the ordinary, the grill imparted a wonderful smokey flavor onto the garlic bread, which was delectably crisped and buttered. We used it to dip in the tzatziki. [[Poseidon Platter]] - the restaurant namesake dish. It included calamari, sole fish, and scampi, served with rice. This was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. Each seafood was fried with care, and the batter was light and crisp, allowing the seafood's flavors to shine. [[Athens Plate]] - this dish came with gyro, lamb chop, steak, pork, and rice. The meat was seasoned and grilled to the tee. This was my friend's dish, but from what I tried, and he ate, it was more than just satisfying. It's been a couple of days since our dinner at Poseidon, and on my first trip to Europe ever. I am, to this moment, reminiscing this dinner experiencing, and longing for another chance to revisit Poseidon once more.

Better than I remember - tasty, fresh and authentic. Excellent service! My favorites: tzatziki,…read moregrilled pepperoni, fried zucchini, grilled sardines. Yam!

What a great find! Last thing I expected was really good Spanish food in Heidelberg, but we found…read moreit here after seeing other Yelp reviews. One note of warning: Google Maps driving directions from weststadt tried to send me down a stretch of Panoramastraße that had 2 poles in the middle of the road to make it pedestrian-only... Anyways. Finally got to Bodega to be greeted warmly, English menus provided once the waiter picked up that our German was less than ideal. I pondered switching over to speaking Spanish, but didn't want to confuse things any more. Had some nice German wine and a collection of tapas - everything was excellent. Didn't get to the main plates (I'm a sucker for tapas) so I can't comment on the offerings there. Dessert (I'm a sucker for that, too) was good - we got a flan and crema catalaña with a sweet sherry. Desserts were decent, but had room for improvement. Would happily go back and recommend this to anybody looking for a change from the great German food in town.

A rustic Spanish restaurant situated away from the center of Heidelberg, Bodega is a great gem. We…read morecame as a group of 10, so needless to say, reservation was needed (highly recommended even if you are in a group of 2). Service was great as we had at least 2 servers catering to our needs. We shared the tapas plate special for 2, and we like it a lot. A fair selection (consisting of artichokes, sardines, olives, seafood salad--love that!, etc), but be aware that it serves mostly as an appetizer as the portion per person was not so big. I had the "Sepia a la Plancha" (grilled squid), and to my surprise (usually I am skeptical about seafood quality in southern Germany), it was fresh and cooked nicely. My friend got the seafood special for 2 (consisting of several types of fish, shrimps, mussels, squid), and they also thought it was cooked nicely. Since our main dishes all come with salad, the servers just brought a huge bowl of salad for us to share. I'm a fan of family-styled dining, so that was a plus for me. Portions for the entree were big, so we had no room left for dessert (sigh...). The meal was on a pricier end, but for a special occasion, one cannot go wrong with Bodega. Tip: If you want to try their Paellas, you would need to make the order much earlier (either a day before or when they open for the day).
