Junior Achievement of South Florida - Very cool day volunteering for BizTown. Love this concept for the kids to learn about different career options.

Such a great experience! I had the pleasure and opportunity to volunteer for my child's filth grade…read morefield trip to @jasouthflorida. It was so fun to see the kids experience real life work from working to getting paid and going to the bank and budgeting to have enough money for snacks and treats to take back home. This program is run by volunteers and donations. I really enjoyed it and recommend to participate and volunteer if you can. Definitely provide a quality of service to the community. Huge learning value for everyone involved.

JA Company Program was the first program offered after school to high school students. In 1975 Project Business was introduced in class to middle school students. Today Junior Achievement has over 100 local JA Areas across the country. They are the largest organization dedicated to giving young people the skills for financial success through in school and after school programs or with visits to their centers like this one on the Broward College Campus. I have a long history with Junior Achievement. While in college I taught one of their courses to elementary school students. When my daughter was in elementary school I chaperoned on her fifth grade field trip to JA Biz Town. Now I accompany a new generation of fifth grade school children on their field trips. Local businesses like Truist Bank and Rick Case Automotive sponsor the store fronts that are set up like a mini city in the building. Students learn skills like how to purchase items, bank, budget, and write a check. Best of all they have a great time learning financial skills. If you have free time to spare they always need volunteers and it is very rewarding. Follow them on Facebook to see the latest happenings. Junior Achievement is such a great resource for the community. We are truly lucky to have them in our backyard.
