My kids love the school, great programs. Mr. Delgado has done a great job taking over the school.

My kids go to Franklin and i love this school. The school operates like a private school, although its 100% free, there are school activities and shows and dances to promote school community and raise funds that allows for improvements and staff and student betterment. Because it is not a huge school students know each other well through the years. The grounds are always impeccable and pest free, staff is great and my kids are very happy here. I do feel that we live in a bubble. read more

Great School. We start here years ago with my first daughter and she loves it. She did elementary and middle school. Now my smallest daughter is graduating from elementary and we will continue middle school here. We love the school, teachers and staff. First thing I have to say, DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD INTO THIS SCHOOL. I was a student at this school from 4th grade all the way to 8th grade. And my experience- horrible. There has been multiple teachers in this school that have gotten fired because they either didn't teach or mistreated their students. Yes, MISTREATED. This school has so many teachers that leave because of how disrespectful the environment is, to the point that they will hire absolutely anyone they can find. In 7th grade, my English teacher was so bad that she would bring her personal issues into the classroom, talking about how she's depressed and wanted to end her life. She would blame it on us, her students. She also would PHYSICALLY harm us by slapping school supplies out of our hands, and even throwing things across the room. She's even thrown a stack of papers in a students face before. And she was NEVER fired, she had just decided to quit. That was only one experience that the school did NOTHING about. We've had multiple teachers either not know how to teach, be mentally insane, or be weird towards their students. Staff is EXTREMELY rude. I don't want to drop names, but almost every staff there has an extremely bad attitude, as if they hate their job. They are all nice to the elementary kids/younger kids, but super rude towards the middle schoolers/older kids. You can get in trouble for almost anything at this school. Multiple students, including me, have gotten detentions for not have our shirts tucked in or having our IDs on. Even if it's with us... if it wasn't on 24/7, you'd get in trouble. The food is pretty bad as well. There were only some days where I thought the food was okay, but almost every day it is pretty much disgusting. I've had friends find plastic, and even MOLD in their school lunch. The students here, from my experience, are also very rude. There is so much bullying, and absolutely nothing is done about it. Unless something physical happened, you couldn't get in trouble for bullying. And for a school that hangs up a huge "no place for hate" poster right at the entrance.... It's a pretty hateful place. Everything is EXTREMELY expensive. Clubs are about $200 just for one day a week per QUARTER. So if you wanted your child to be enrolled in a club for the whole school year, that would be a total of $800. It's not worth it. Favoritism is a huge thing in this school. If your child isn't in the popular crowd, don't expect them to make the sports team. Many teachers here also favorite kids based off of skin color. Again, I will not drop names, but it is somewhat common to be discriminated at this school. Also, there's been many things that have happened here. Just about 3 months ago, a child (who goes to the school) had their parents SUE the school because one of the administrators saw the kid sniffing a lot and assumed he was doing drugs- then conducting a search through the kid's backpack, just to find nothing. That really shows how responsible this school is, no? I've tried to find good things to say about this school.. but nothing comes to mind. My recommendation: Do not enroll your child here. Please find a different school if possible. This school should not be the first option.. if anything, let it be the last. Save your child the trouble. Although this is not a "business" you would bookmark to visit in the next few weeks (tours available--seriously), it is one you might consider assessing, to recommend to parents in search of quality education in the South Florida tri-county area. I first became acquainted with Franklin Academy (FA) six years ago when my niece who was just promoted to the 6th grade, started school. Being exactly one year older than my youngest daughter, my little girl looks up to, and follows her; modeling me and my respect for my sister I suppose. They are quite the trendsetters and at the time [she] started kindergarten, FA was new and carried the burden of proof. Being more cautious-- I closely observed them and prior to making an informed decision, I placed my daughter on the waiting list. Five years transpired, four other campuses opened, and they remain A+ rated. This year after their "lottery," my daughter was invited into the 5th grade at their Sunrise campus. Having worked in the school system both in Texas and Florida, I can see beyond the façade often supporting the crumbling structure within. Hence, without going into detail, this is an education system that we are fortunate to finally be a part of. Franklin administrators, educators, staff, parents and students work together as a family unit where collaboration, character, caring, and curriculum excellence, is at the tippy top of their achievement list every day, and it transcends the campus level. For instance, prior to start date, other parents who heard through social media that we got in, shared their surplus of supplies, along with a couple of new uniforms. Wow! Lastly, I commend Principal Delgado that in selecting his team for this campus, he placed Ms. Noriega and Ms. Horta as the first points of contact. The smooth e-registration with Ms. Vazquez was also much appreciated, as I didn't have to take off work to take care of all the paperwork. Most impressive to me though, was having met with the school nurse, Ms. JJ. The thorough follow up in managed healthcare gives me peace of mind and hope that we have reached a much awaited pivotal point that will not hinder nor dissuade, but promote and encourage integral education. In our education journey, I aspire, that at Franklin Academy the coming year(s) will provide exceptional experiences! read more

Do not go to this school this school is very overrated. Every parent says this school is good but the students don't like it and take it from me, i was a student there. This school was good at first but then it got bad because of all the rules they were adding and thats why people would rebel. And the administration is very rude especially Ms. Amoedo, the Vp.The bullying is so bad the Vp doesn't care even a bit and when you tell them they get you in trouble too.For example i almost got pushed off the second story just for liking a boy and they dis nothing about it. If you are not Hispanic don't go there. they only cater to them. I sat on this review for a whole year and Franklin has failed over miserably. Beyond basic fairness, I believe they should create a positive environment where the teachers are respectful of different background. The staffs are not diverse and based on my encounter with their lack of diversity, I decided my child was not a good fit in that kind of environment. read more

My son came here from an A school in Broward County for Middle School. It takes some getting used to at first, and there were some things that I didn't really like, but after they changed principals two years ago it improved. There were some things that were annoying throughout our three years there, like how they make you stand outside at every evening parent gathering (like open house or something like that at night.) County schools will have parents go right in to the cafeteria and find their child's name on a list and then go to where you need to go. And how strict they are with the kids about uniforms and sweaters on cold days and having their cell phones out is a little much. The teachers are pretty good. Some better than others just like a county school. Overall, it was a good experience there. They have a nice 8th grade graduation and the kids become close at a smaller school so it's definitely better than other schools around. read more
