Within a day or so of a serious reaction from too high a dosage of a prescription by Dr Milowe, & he was not avail to return my call. "Mrs Triage RN" Would Not or couldn't do 1-thing! Nothing to help me!! In trying to tell Dr Milowe at my next appt, what had happened and that I had to go to NSMC. That was when he told me that his wife (who I thought, was his Med Asst/wife), was actually his "Triage R.N. and she's completely involved with Patient Care, too! If I don't like that business, I don't have to continue." But, I reluctantly stayed. Knowing now that HE can/did share our confidential appts; like, more than mere meds to send off and/or Insurance to verify, etc.?! I didn't ever talk about deeper or personal feelings after that! I felt Humiliated, even! Hey, you know? It's not a big deal, her being his wife, BUT YES, I do have a huge problem not being Told about her busy-ness in my MHC together & tag-team with MY Dr. of Psychiatrist! I Pray for his Wellness, in faith and during his recovery!

What is unique and most effective about Dr. Milowe's practice is his truly wholistic approach. He treats mental illness from a physical, psychological, and spiritual perspectives. He listens and works with the strengths and resources his patients bring to the relationship, as well as offering a broad range of alternative treatments. Dr. Milowe's integration of western and eastern health practices and knowledge and use of natural/homeopathic is forward thinking and incredibly effective for a wide range of issues and clientele. He shows great respect for his patience and the complex nature of human behavior and mental illness. I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. Intake visit only; First impression only. Firstly, I want to say I completely understand intake…read moreprocesses and Seemed to be more focused on her own comfort than the comfort of others (made me move from one seat to another during intake paperwork, despite the latter being more difficult to write on [a couch arm vs. the chair next to her]). Secondly, she didn't seem to understand the medications I was on, nor their actual definitions; or at lest, she seemed like she did until I spoke with my actual RN. "You're not taking anti-depressants?" Yes. Yes, I am. I gave you the list, I'm on two; one major, one booster. Repeatedly informed me that she was not someone who gave out medication, which I repeatedly informed her I had someone I was comfortable and had worked with for over 5 years. We spent more time focused on my ten-year-long medication list than anything else. Another thing was when she asked me "What is it you want from me?" I don't like this question. I don't like how it's phrased, how it's projected or how it can be interpreted. There are many ways to say "How can I help you" or "What is it you're looking for" or "What kind of help are you seeking," that I feel the verbiage she chose was completely off-putting and literally stopped my thinking completely. I froze up, tensed up and literally stuttered for thirty seconds to get out the phrase "I... Don't... Know..." A lot of people suffering from mental illnesses don't understand or are unable to understand what they're going through and may just want someone to tell them what it IS they are going through, or what they can DO to HELP them with what they're going through. The phrasing of "What is it you want from me" signals that me, as an individual, has a 'want' or 'need' required of you, personally. Yes, this does make sense... but with many people with such a wide variety of mental-illnesses, how can you expect someone you meet on their first visit to have an answer for you? I do want to reiterate that the softer-formed questions I mentioned can reflect the same sort of flight-or-fight nail-biting response, but as I mentioned the word softer, the questions she asked made it seem ... very unsympathetic. It seemed like... a school teacher asking their student a question in class and the student requiring to make the right answer. I honestly don't know what I need; I don't know what kind of help I need, what I want or anything. That's why I was seeking out therapy, a psychologist, a psychiatrist; anyone that could help. In the end, that's what I said. I needed help. But then we quickly glossed over that and back onto my medications; yes, I've tried all the SSRI's, I can literally hand you my phone's screenshot... oh, get off my phone? You're asking me questions about my medication, I have them in a file on my phone. Most important; suicidal ideation speak. She has a form for you to sign if you ever make an attempt or are hospitalized for suicidal ideation that she will no longer see you. For someone who's been there, the last thing I'd want is to be abandoned. From what I've been told, patient-abandonment is a huge no-no in the industry and can be considered for a potential lawsuit, which is why I get why she told me, at the last five minutes of the session, about this. She asked if I was comfortable with signing it... I would have to read anything before even answering a question like that. I appreciate her attempt to help and I'm sure she is or can be a great fit for some people, but it seems like she's a very particular individual who's actually choosing her patients which I don't feel at all comfortable with. Although, as mentioned, this was only my first and only visit with her. As such, I'm unable to truly give a full report of an actual full-hearted therapeutic review; again, first impression/visit only.

That was when it ended, I was shooed off to the waiting room around 2:30 AM, and as of 5:00 AM I am STILL sitting here with a mini fluid vial in my arm with no sign of a doctor or nurse to see me. I'm angry, exhausted, hungry, and just want to go home. This place is awful and possibly the worst hospital in the world, they don't care about you, just want to get your money and leave you to rot in the waiting room.

I went in to have a very small wart removed from my knee and they ended up creating such a huge (and unnecessary) gash in my leg that I was on crutches for a few days. For a wart! The permanent scar that remains is so ugly and disappointing compared with the little wart that I had. Avoid these doctors like the plague!
