I decided to try spray tanning for the first time and paid the extra $5 for their organic specialty spray. I was happy with my head and face, but the rest of my body was still completely pale. I went in today to discuss, and was told that it likely didn't take either because I had lotion on (which I don't use), didn't exfoliate prior (seriously?), or because of body hair. I lifted my shirt showing no body hair. You would have thought they would have jumped through hoops to hopefully gain a long-term customer, but not so. I have used zoom tan periodically for 12 years. For my 30th anniversary I wanted to get a few tans in for our trip to Vegas, paying for a month was the best option price wise. 2 days after I bought it we found out a hurricane was coming, I only got 3 sessions in because we had to prep our house for the hurricane, we survived that with minimal damage. We took our trip, gone for a week, get back to find out a category 5 hurricane is headed straight for our house. We spend the next three days prepping and praying. Hurricane hits, our yard is like a war zone, no power for 5 days. Every day since we have been hauling trees, fence, debris from our property. Through all that I failed to cancel the auto renewal so I called an hour after they took the money out of my account to see if they would reimburse it. They said no, send an email with a detailed message. I did...This is their reply Thank you for contacting us at Zoom Tan. We are so sorry to hear about all of this. When I went in they had red ball caps that said make America tan again obviously making a political statement in a tanning salon. That was very unprofessional. As far as the customer service went and the tan itself I was pleased. didn't like the fact that you could only use credit cards you cannot use cash in there at all what kind of business only accept credit. read more

Zoom Tan advertises online that any age can spray tan yet wouldn't let my 7 year old in the room with me. The man working had attitude with me and suggested she sit in the waiting room by herself... a 7 year old. Horrible customer service and creepy policy to suggest children can't be with their mothers in a dressing room type situation. I will be cancelling my membership. You should probably advertise this on your website (your FAQ already has a 100 questions so why not add another) considering someone showered, drove all the way there, waited ten minutes in the car to make sure the rain stopped, and THEN was told this. read more

Had a treatment the other day with the spray on tan I've been to a lot of other spray on tan places and this one was the worst first of all you feel like you're breathing in half of the spray on tan second of all you look orange when you come out third of all I watched as the machine that did the aftertreatment cleaning of the stall area cleaned about only half of the area so only a small portion of the area you're getting treated in your bare feet actually gets the disinfectant I thought this would be a reasonable way to get some color to my skin since we all know that the tanning beds cause skin cancer but the way they do their spray on tan is not as good as it is done other places read more

Went to this tanning salon expecting just a one month tan membership, which is the impression I was under. I later found out that they sign you up for a monthly auto debit out of your account which no one ever informed me of. Instead of signing something, they send you a link so click ok and apparently you agree to that even though it would not load on my phone and just tell you continue. When I called to explain the situation they told me I was out of luck and there was nothing they could do to get my money back. Therefore I'll be filing a dispute with my bank to get the money back. What a horrific company. I've been tanning for many, many years - and have lived all over - from Michigan to Toronto to Atlantic Canada to Honolulu, Hawaii... and I've never encountered a worse company. Unfriendly staff, old no-output bulbs and then a month after I sign up, they close the location with no notice. When I call to request a refund - I'm made to feel that the other location 4 miles away (and not along my way home) is more than enough and the company feels no need and refuses to refund me. I'm expected to be inconvenienced and have to drive out of my way --- and I have no right to feel that's unacceptable. This decision came from Upper Management - so that shows you just how important 'customers' are to this company. We've got your $$ - so screw you. Absolutely pathetic. read more
