Going to a zoo on vacation has been a thing for me lately. This was a pretty nice zoo and the sky zoo lets you see 75% of the zoo on a ride! If you buy the most expensive ticket it comes with extra things to do. Such as the gondola ride, a train ride, a safari ride and etc. If you are early, you can get a separate ticket to feed the capybara and there are limited amount of tickets allowed! The zoo is decent sized and has your typical basic animals. You are able to feed the fishes, deers and etc. Pretty great experience here! Overall 8/10 read more

My almost 4 year old is a fan of animals, and hence, zoos. We recently traveled to Guadalajara with her and heard rave reviews of this zoo to visit. This was her 6th zoo visit within the past few years. This was, by far, the best zoo I have visited. I love how much there was to do here; from the deer feedings to train ride and safari, it's a great experience. The zoo is well-maintained, spacious, and beautiful. Considered one of the largest and most important zoos in Latin America, I actually was less impressed than by a few other zoos I've been to in Mexico - but it is still a very nice place to spend a few hours (even apart from animals you might see). Located across from a Macrobus stop and also at the edge of a large scenic canyon, it it easy to get to even without driving, and provides a view comparable to the one from the popular mirador/lookout a few miles away. Packages are offered but you can also just pay the lowest, very affordable, entry fee and then add on later inside if/when you want to access anything not already included. For two or fewer add ons, it's cheaper to pay a la cart. If you are interested in three or more (like maybe the small aquarium, safari, train, and gondola ride) it would make sense to pay for a package (and then go/do as much as you possibly can). Best zoo I've been to in the 75+ countries I've visited and the countless zoos I've visited with my five-year-old daughter. Here's why: 1) Exhibits: Easily marked, pathways lead you to an aquarium with polar bears, manatee, penguins, sharks, etc. There's a bird area where you can feed birds as they sit on your arm. There's a monkey area where you're in the cage with them! The safari includes a bus where you get up close to zebras, hippos, rhinos, lions, etc. Every exhibit is well done and interactive! 2) Space: Set near the hills, the views are breathtaking, especially at the end near the bird section. There are picnic tables for visitors to enjoy food with views of roving hills and waterfalls. 3) Amenities: For a little extra, you can take a ski lift throughout the zoo if you're a certain height or a train around the zoo. Free and clean restrooms are around every turn. 4) Price: Tickets start at $110 pesos for adults and $70 pesos for kids ages 3-11. For $305 for adults and $210 for kids you can get the premier pass, which includes the train ride, safari, aquarium, and a few other activities. The highest priced tickets are $355 for adults and $270 for kids 3-11 and it includes the ski lift. read more

Absolutely gorgeous and majestic. One of the largest zoos I have ever been. Won't be disappointed.

I've been to the Brookfield Zoo, Dallas Zoo, Oklahoma City Zoo and this has to be one of the most enjoyable. Hands down, you have to pay them a visit. We were there for 5 hours and it wasn't enough time! I can't wait to come back!! read more

I had the time of my life here and it's super cheap! I got the ticket where I could go on the safari and the aquarium. Walking around the zoo+the safari+aquarium took about 3-4 hours. The highlight was definitely feeding the giraffe on the safari and GOING INSIDE THE SHARK TANK AT THE AQUARIUM! That was the highlight of my life!!! I convinced my dad to go with me and it was about 100 pesos each for 10 minutes in the shark tank. We were inside a glass box thing so it was totally safe. Definitely will go back again! read more

The Zoo of Guadalajara generally speaking seems to a safe space to spend the day with the family. Unfortunately, I don't think that the park is very well kept as the restoration works must have taken place years ago. One thing I really dislike about the park though, is that they offer different types of tickets based on what kind of parts you'd like to see. So, there is a basic ticket for $99 MXN which let's you see about half of the the park; otherwise you will have to pay approximately $50 MXN to get into each section. You can get close to the animals and yet feel safe. You need an entire day to see everything. We had a amazing time. Best zoo I've been to.

Very nice clean zoo. Little bit of everything here. I recommend buying the all inclusive package except the sky view ( premiere). If you don't you end up paying for each attraction separately. The zoo is pretty spread out be prepared to walk. Most of the animals were out on a very nice 80 degree day. I would also recommend going during the week when schools are in session. Entrance fee was $235 pesos for the diamond package (about $12 American). I think so was worth it. The food ? Eh. Like in all theme parks. I don't know if bringing your own is allowed. Tram ride is bumpy. Safari ride was short but very good. Skyzoo is a 30 air tram ride. 15 min each way and allows you to see the zoo from above. 15 min to go about .5 miles. Overall I liked the experience. All the employees we ran into we're friendly and helpful. All signage on the exhibits is in Spanish. MacroBus is was a mile walk from the entrance we used but there is an entrance that is closer. The taxi we used traveled 5 miles in 30 min for 80 pesos going and 90 pesos for return. read more
