To anyone looking for a new irrigation system... beware of David Joyner's business "In The Zone"…read more He took my deposit of $1,825 on April 8, 2025 and never even started the job. He is unprofessional, unreliable, and "ghosted me" on several occasions. He always had excuses as to why he didn't show up as promised. I took him to small claims court, and he didn't even bother to show up for court. I was awarded a judgement against him and still he hasn't paid. However, this judgement will go on record in SC. If you have also been taken by this person don't hesitate to pursue this in the court system. I am writing this to help prevent others being taken advantage of financially by this individual.

Please do a Horry County Public Index search on this company and owner David Lee Joyner before…read moreconsidering them for any work at your property. David was quick to get our deposit of $6300 then ghosted me. After finally making contact via a text to my wife's phone he failed to show up on scheduled day but waited 2 days to finally text with his excuses why. This was repeated behavior a couple of times. He does nothing but take your money then lie and make excuses. I am still waiting for the refund of deposit money after having taken David to court in Little River, SC. Be aware that they do NOT have a business license to operate in North Myrtle Beach, SC. You can do a business directory search on the NMB website to confirm. I will also be reporting the company and David to the SC Dept. of Consumer Affairs, so others might be spared going through a similar situation with David Joyner.

I just turned 75 and decided it was time to make my life a little easier. I figured it was time to…read moreclear all the flower gardens over run with weeds, the small trees, and out of control bushes that my front yard was a refuge for. Basically I just wanted grass to mow and be done with it. I also thought that it was time to replace the weed-laden garden that bordered my house with a nice rock border with a weed barrier underneath to keep it clear of invasive weeds. I called Robert Brown based on the great reviews he had on here and hoped for the best. I have had issues in the past with hiring handymen who either did shoddy work, or never finished the job after they convinced me to give them payment because of an urgent need. I decided this time I was going to hire a professional and not get fooled again. Rob showed up personally and listened carefully to what I had in mind and gave me a great price estimate which I only replied with "when can you start?" He showed up with his assistant Boo, and his mini Kubota tractor and digger and jumped right on re-configuring my front yard. They worked at an accelerated pace, and I could not believe how fast and professionally they accomplished their task at hand. Rob even made a few suggestions that made more work for himself, but refused to change the price, even though I offered to pay more. He said: "It's not about the money for me, I just want to make my customers happy." My neighbor came over to watch and was amazed at how fast they got the job done. Rob is a wizard with that tractor and even yanked out an impossible to get rid of crepe myrtle tree with ease! They finished the job by installing the rock border and replaced the border blocks I had from before to make a perfect job! The work was done quickly and professionally, everything was cleaned up and hauled away, and you could see the honest pride Rob took in his work as he showed my wife and me the finished project. I can't say enough about this man, Robert Brown. He is one thing that is extremely rare these days, a sincere man! What a pleasure, and an honor to have met him and his hard working assistant! Call him and you will be glad you did!

Review for Love Irrigation - Pawleys Island, SC…read more I specifically sought out a small, owner-operated irrigation company and chose Love Irrigation based on the recommendation that he responds quickly and can be on-site within 24 hours. To his credit, when I first reached out (over Easter weekend), he responded immediately and called me right away. He set the expectation that he would be at my home Monday afternoon. I appreciated that responsiveness and made the decision to stop looking for other providers because I prefer to support local small businesses. Unfortunately, that's where the experience broke down. Monday came and went with no communication. After multiple texts, I finally heard back that he would come the following afternoon. The next day came--again, no communication, no show, and no response to several calls and texts. I didn't hear back until around 9 PM, when he said he was very busy and that I should understand that. I absolutely understand being busy--that's a good thing for any small business. However, being busy does not excuse a lack of communication, especially after committing to specific days and times. A simple message would have gone a long way. What was most frustrating is that after several days of waiting--time I could have used to secure another provider--he ultimately suggested that I find someone else. As a business owner myself, I know how critical it is to honor commitments or, at the very least, communicate clearly when plans change. In this case, I had an urgent need and relied on the commitments made, which caused unnecessary delays. I'm sure he's a capable and hardworking individual, and I genuinely hope he succeeds. My only recommendation is that communication needs to improve significantly. When customers are counting on you, timely updates are just as important as the work itself. I might recommendation him simply because I love small privately owned businesses BUT i'd also share to be cautious of commitments.
