For an American in Lugo (also for Lucenses in Lugo!), this bar is amazing. The bartender is…read moreawesome, makes jokes, and remembers your drink preferences if you're a regular. The vibe inside the bar is casual and medieval: it's like diving into a time-machine cave where each table is a stone nook and you can order tea, beer, eat pizza for your tapa after 20:00, and spend hours playing trivia on Thursday nights. It's my friends' and my go-to spot for casual tapas, for beginning a night, and for simply just socializing. I love the pub-like feel of the place and how nice everyone is. And, you'll find, it's often open on the quieter evenings during the week when the other tapas places aren't.

THe brewery is large with a bar that runs the lengthy of the space like a Möbius strip. There are a number of booths to sit along the wall and middle. We sampled the reserve red and black 1906. There were about 8 beers to chose from tonight. We liked the black a bit more than the red. We also sampled the tapas. The mussles and bread were short of perfection. Though nobody spoke English, it was easy to order and they kept offering us extras because they enjoyed our North American friendly but not rowdy or presumptuous patronage. The female bartender owned the place. There was a lot of what we considered single older men who were rude AF and she handled each one like a champ. The show plus a good drink and perfect Galician seafood made for a great evening! See website for hours and location. There is street and public parking nearby.
