I think my fave was The fruit of life and The contemporary art exhibit, using stones from Zimbabwe (I can't remember the name). They have an outdoor area where you can sit under trees and they also have sculptures out there as well. They also have a great little gift shop! Definitely check it out and support Fresno's Art museum. Afterwards you can go to lunch at Sam's Italian deli across the street or Thai Phucket near by!

We came with our kids, including my 10-year-old daughter, who is an artist and was genuinely excited to be there. Instead of feeling welcomed, we were treated like our presence was a nuisance. The staff was extremely strict and repeatedly barked orders at us, with very little customer service or warmth. In one area that had children's blocks, our kids were playing and got a little loud. Wanting to be considerate, my husband closed the door so they wouldn't disturb others. There were no signs anywhere saying the door couldn't be closed. A staff member then came in, visibly upset, and yelled at us--again, with no clear explanation or signage to justify the reaction. Later in the gift shop, another staff member sharply reprimanded my kids for leaning on the glass. Once again, no signs were posted, and the tone was unnecessarily harsh. None of this felt kid-friendly or welcoming. It's unfortunate, because the art and the artists deserve better representation. The staff's behavior made it hard to enjoy the exhibits at all, and it completely turned us off from what could have been a great family experience. We had even considered a membership, but after being treated this way, we will not be returning. The art is wonderful. The customer service is not. ### In response to the owner's reply: your response reinforces exactly why we will not be returning. Your tone comes across as condescending and punitive, with the majority of your response focused on what we supposedly did wrong rather than how your staff handled the situation. Saying you will "talk to your staff" reads like an afterthought when roughly 90% of your response places blame on us. We are fully aware that this is not a children's museum or an interactive museum. The fact that you felt the need to explain this only adds to the condescension. Our children were respectful, quiet, and well-behaved. They were not running, not acting out, and not treating the space inappropriately. In the designated children's area, their voices briefly rose while playing together. Out of courtesy to other guests, my husband closed the door--unaware it was not meant to be closed or that it locks automatically, as there was no signage indicating this. The staff's response was unnecessarily aggressive. You offer a family pass, which implies families are welcome. A family-friendly environment should not make parents and children feel like a nuisance. Because of both the original experience and the tone of your response, I am updating my review from two stars to one star.

Man, what wonderful service I received here. Juliet just about held my hand walking me through all the double checking I wanted to do. Patient, kind and professional, she really brought the human touch (without actually touching a human) to this department. Mary Ann, likewise was awesome and helpful. And it's a good thing, as I had them laughing at my corny jokes, Rob, their supervisor, came up to the front counter as well. As it would turn out, Rob and I go the same church, Riverpark Bible Church. Go Riverpark! Anyway, as a result of this trip and the fantastic service, I learned that I need to take advantage of a 'Homeowner's Exemption Form' that essentially with reduce the value from which the property is taxed about 7K. I drove past Brix Mansion probably a hundred times before I actually stopped to look at it properly…read moreand I'm annoyed it took me that long. this building is stunning. built in 1889 and it still commands the whole block on Fresno Street. the architecture is the kind you just don't see anymore, ornate, detailed, genuinely grand. standing in front of it you get this weird feeling like you accidentally walked into a different century. it's on the National Register of Historic Places which it absolutely deserves. Fresno has more history than people give it credit for and Brix Mansion is one of the best physical reminders of that. if you're into architecture, local history, or just beautiful old buildings it's worth a deliberate visit not just a drive by. bring your camera because the photos basically take themselves. it's the kind of thing that makes you proud your city has preserved it and also a little sad most locals probably don't know its there. now you do. go look at it.

Plus if you do visit this building, it wont be the only thing on your list to visit because 1 block away is the St John Cathedral and also the Meux mansion. There is no parking around its since its really close to the community hospital, I would suggest parking on R street near the church and take the opportunity to appreciate and take pictures of this architecture marvel. It looks like something that should be in Hollywood to be honest. most people in Fresno can pass it without even knowing that they have this beautiful building. If you must know the building was constructed for Herman H. and Helena S. Brix in 1910-1911. Herman H. Brix made a pioneering contribution to the development of Coalinga and was influential in the commercial expansion of Fresno. In addition to its historical associations, the Brix Mansion possesses considerable architectural significance. Designed by architect Edward T. Foulkes, it represents a brilliant example of a period-inspired Italian Villa, the only residence in Fresno built in this lavishly-embellished style. So take the opportunity to visit this unique mansion and bring your friends to impress them about the landmarks and historical building of Fresno.

The tower itself is awesome. I got some great photos of it at night from the outside. I wanted to take a few more pics once inside but got camera shy because there was a handful of people lingering around in there. It was free to enjoy, so next time you are in downtown, check it out! This building is a must visit or drive through at least once if you are in Fresno. This building is one of a kind and apparently is a National Landmark originally built in 1916, was the first permanent structure of the Fresno State College campus and is now the iconic center of the Fresno City College campus. Its hard to believe if tourist do not tour this amazing building and take the opportunity to walk around it, because it's so beautiful and unique. During weekdays the building is free to roam inside since its open for classes ( this is a functional college classroom), the building interior is just massive and really feels like something you see in the movies when they portray the schools and hallways. During weekends you can expect to at walk around the building and courtyard and take photo of this iconic Fresno landmark because the interior might be closed. There are plenty of parking around the area, and its free, try to avoid parking on campus since you have to pay for it, instead park near the housing are, its free and easy to get, and its only a walk away. There is a gorgeous courtyard that must be seen, its like walking in hogwarts from harry potter, or at least thats how I felt. Really worth a visit, and walks away is the amazing library, with the same exact architecture but will also amaze you with the grand interior. The building I learned was built of solid brick with tapestry face brick. The roof covering is mission clay tile. Among its decorative features are handmade hard-burned bricks, classic ornamentation at the main and secondary entrances, classic brick arches and stone balconies overlooking central courtyards, and lavish Moorish geometric details in brick on the east and west walls of the auditorium and above the arches of the covered walks around the perimeter of the courts. Its a shame if you dont visit this place.
