I needed to update my payment method. The manager at the Oteen NC location, Brian, stopped what he was doing to give me the best service. He quickly changed my account, gave me 1/2 price service for the next 2 months. No upsell pressure. I get the Basic service, take my car about once a week. Yeah, sometimes there are equipment issues, but Zips is convenient and close by. The staff is always helpful if needed (usually not necessary) vacs work well, plenty of towels. I like having a clean car on my schedule. I have other choices for washing my car, but I think my Zips membership is worth it. (No, I don't work for Zips, and don't know anyone who does.) read more

I guess I'm not really adding much beyond what everyone else's reviews say -- that this place is not good. They no longer provide any interior cleaning sprays besides glass cleaner. I felt bad for all the people who'd purchased wash packages, and are now stuck with it. Please do not use this car wash! I live in the community behind it and have been trying to get them to fix or replace their old failing equipment that is so loud that I literally hear it INSIDE MY HOME! At first they were responsive and replaced the loud squealing vacuum holders but there is still a loud constant machine sound that runs non-stop from open to close. It's unbearable to even go outside and enjoy my yard. We have left several messages in the last week and crickets! No reply or acknowledgment anymore. I have been trying to sell my home and this noise is chasing every potential buyer away! They don't care. My life is literally impacted by their lack of maintenance or willingness to spend money to replace the equipmen making the noise. Please go to the new Sud Stop. 2/17/25 update Since I didn't recognize the fraud within 60 days Zips refused Truist's claim for the first $45 of their $105 theft. Just to note, I missed the first 3 $15 charges because I was paying for legitimate washes the entire time. I only noticed after the $30 per month charges kicked in. Can't wait for the new SUD STOP across Hwy 17 next to Mellow Mushroom to open! I guess Truist and Zips needs to make a $ where they can. 1/16/25 Zips N Myrtle Beach opened an unauthorized account September 9th, '24. Charged a total of $105 to my card before I realized the individual Zip charges were not the car washes I was still buying but they were also membership fees. I contacted my bank but no refund so far and no acknowledgement that the North Myrtle location stiffed me for $105! Contacted some guy at headquarters named Harvey that sent me a signed agreement that wasn't my signature or my license plate number but it did have the employee name R Hall as the Zip employee. Harvey said because I had contacted my bank and also "signed" an agreement his decision was final!!! All I wanted was some assurance the thief would be reckoned with since I'm looking to Truist for my money. Since Harvey wasn't interested I went to the local Zips over a week ago to see if the manager there cared before I started posting negative reviews. Crickets!!! This car wash sold me a $100 wash book good for 5 washes. I used 1 and now they tell me that they are expired. I contacted Customer service and the did nothing to help me. This company is nothing but a SCAM in the car wash business. they have equiptment is not working and they do nothing about it. I wish that Detrichs would buy this place back. Its been down hill since Zips bought them out. All that they care about is selling you a membership so they can rip you off every month buy paying for services you don't get when its broken. This is by far a terrible car wash. often closed because of malfunctions. Car always needs to be wiped off, plus often find soap in frames and hatch frame. My last visit my car was damaged in the tunnel. They refused to pay for the damaged which totally their fault. My advice never go to a Zips car wash... read more

Been through a number of these self service car washes and really know what to expect. To begin with the pay machine was out of paper so I couldn't get a receipt. Went through the car wash had only half of the vacuums working outside. Began cleaning my car And found that it was not as clean as it should be. Had a number of small net like insects on the windshield in front bumper did a miserable job of getting those off. Had some bird excrement on a side window didn't get that off at all. The passenger side of the car was not dry. Must say I'm less than happy with the quality of the car wash and won't be returning. read more

Been a member for several years now. Detrick's is the best car wash in town so i was cautiously optimistic when it was bought by zips. Ever sinse, it has been a steady decline in quality. The pre-wash is gone, the guide who is supposed to guide you in is never out and yoh have to wait for them to come outside. The vaccuums barely work, and are clogged 90% of the time. The trash cans are overflowing, and the towl returns are too. I stopped in as soon as they opened the other day, and the cans were STILL overflowing at 8am! I am canceling my membership and driving to 501 where they just built a brand new Detrick's. Is it out of my way? Sure! But at least i will get my money's worth! read more

I feel sorry for the employees. It seems like the company does not care. A few things that went wrong: 1. I signed up for a monthly membership and had been a member for almost two years, they raised the monthly membership price and didn't notify anyone. Strike one 2. Went to clean my car and they told me there weren't any towels to use and they wouldn't have any available for the next couple of days. Strike two 3. This is when I cancelled my membership- the car wash damaged my car and now I have in this long drawn out process to get Zips to pay for the repairs. The piece of my car was INSIDE the car wash! Strike three! Avoid this place! It was so convenient but now it's just become a the worst headache. Unless you have extra time on your hands to fight with them go somewhere else that treats their customers better read more

The equipment does not wash the back of your vehicle! When asked to go back through the car wash the attendants including the on-site manager that corporate does not allow them to give free car wash! New equipment is needed at this location! This site was so great when it was owned by Derrick's! Prices have gone up and quality way down! read more

I would give a zero if possible. They have gone up in price. They do not offer any pre-treatment sprays before, just a guy who pushes a button and sends you through. You were not much cleaner coming out than you were going in. And you don't even get a coupon for your next visit. We will not return for sure. Dietricks was so much better. And knew how to treat their customers. read more

What a joke, I used to live the place when it was Detricks car wash. They do not pre wash anymore, there is no one to guide you into the wash lane. The washing does not clean at all. Damn what a waste of $30! Never again. read more

Stay away. since they reopened it sucks. Yesterday there were no towels, most of the vacs were not working, wash was not great, tire shine was spotty at best and so on. For $18 I expect better. Go somewhere else. read more

I have had this service for almost 2 years now and since it changed to zip car wash, things are just not what they were before last time I went in they had cleaning clothes there and no cleaning fluid to spray on anything. This time I went in and the guy just comes out guys man didn't spray the tires off or the undercarriage of the car and let the car wash do it thing oh now I don't even know what to expect should I bring my own cleaning supplies to clean the car? No more pre wash spray. The help is never looking at where my tires actually are before waving me forward. Then gets an attitude cause I won't move till I know my tire is lined up. Try to call you might as well give up because they don't answer and make it impossible to get in touch with them. I see on here, they keep saying how sorry they are about people being unhappy. If you're sorry, actually address the issues of full garbage cans, scrappy, clogged vacuums, and give the pre wash spray back to your customers. Will probably cancel my membership.​ read more

The car wash itself is awesome. What is going to keep us from going back is the guy "helping" us purchase the car wash. He doesn't take no for an answer to the level of feeling harassed to buy the package. Management needs to get involved and call off the dogs. Extremely frustrating No means NO. read more

unfortunately this place has gone severely downhill. I ran my car through the wash only to have the blower not work so I had to hand dry my car. Then I pulled my floor mats to put them through the washer only to see a sign that looked like it has been up for week say "out of order". So I went to grab a towel and some cleaner. All the towels were wet and the cleaners were not labeled so you did't know what you were getting. I started to vacuum my car and the hose on the driver's side had very little suction. When I got to the passenger side that vacuum hose was laying on the ground because it did't have enough suction to stay in it's holder. What a waste of money read more
