This is my first time utilizing an all automated/online property manager, but thus far, it's been an incredible experience. I initially toured the property with the current tenants, who were able to give me a good idea and feel of the neighborhood, property management and their overall experience. It seems like an odd idea, current tenants touring prospective tenants, but it's actually invigorating and you get a good sense of what you're getting yourself into. From the moment of leaving the property and being immediately contacted by the leasing manager via text, to the application process being processed expeditiously, to the lease signing....it has been seamless! The customer service is unmatched. Paying the deposit and rent online is quick and easy. This has been a great experience and I would definitely recommend this company to others. read more

Emailed ZipRent to tour a rental property. I was told I had to schedule a visit online and upload a photo of my ID. I emailed back saying I was not comfortable uploading my ID onto a random website and I'd be happy to come into the office and show it in person to verify my identity. I was then ghosted. Edit: after posting my 1 star review (which was 3 days after the original emails), I was called immediately and told there is no office and no way to show my ID other than to upload a picture of it online. While the person I spoke with was nice, there was no solution. If you want to view one of their listings you have to put your private info online, unfortunately. I recently had my identity compromised and am extra careful now about what I put online. While I completely understand that management companies need to vet the people viewing their properties, not being able to have an in-person option makes me uncomfortable, personally. read more

At 57 years old, I have dealt with a lot of landlords and their property managers. Ziprent is without a doubt the most sophisticated, friendly and easy to access team with which I have ever had the pleasure to work. We are now into our 3rd year of renting the same home through ZipRent, so we have had plenty of experience with them. I really appreciate that they have online processes for dealing with leasing documents, inspections, repairs and payments. They respond very quickly with repair requests...even though the contractors themselves aren't always as quick to respond. They always follow up to be sure the work gets done and welcome feedback. Despite never having met anyone from ZipRent in person, they make me feel like they know who I am and want me and my family to have a good experience as tenants. read more

Zip rent is the worst property management company. they are completely insensitive and they have no sense of people living in the house where they are the property management company. We are tenants in house in Pleasanton and we have been complaining of AC not working and after a month where the temperatures in Pleasanton has been soaring at 100+ F and they made us live without AC. Despite complaining multiple times they came back asked me to keep the doors open between the rooms and live with it. I feel these guys should just get out business if you are not able to manage property and not care about the situation. Tenants and owners kindly think twice before engaging with Ziprent. read more

As a tenant, we were unsure of our experience with Ziprent as a management company. Communication is done primarily through email, text, and the occasional phone call, which was not what our previous interactions have been with our landloard/management company relationships nor considered traditional with our years as tenants. I can say that, surprisingly, it has been a pleasant, efficient, and, at times, personal and considerate experience. The service repair department that has always been spot on. I am a landlord and have had Ziprent for the last year for two of my units. This company is completely hands off. They only send emails. I have had numerous issues. The latest issue is that they did not meet a new tenant to let them into the property and give them a set of keys so the tenant had to re-key the property. That was a long time ago, over 6 months and I have not received a set of keys from the tenants since. This was an error created by Ziprent. It's been numerous emails numerous promises that they will obtain a key from the tenant which has never been done. It's excuse after excuse, and it's quite unbelievable that they can manage properties this way. I feel that I am often dealing with young adults with no real estate experience. It's scary they can run a property management company and not ever step foot on the property other than taking photos when listing it. At times I feel like I'm having to manage them versus them managing the property. I would not recommend this company. read more

At first I was alittle hesitant because it just seemed they make it to convenient for me to look at the place basically around my schedule. Once I saw the place , it was just some basic requirements to provide . The usual renting procedures. I reached out to there customer service for some questions I had and I was extremely shocked when I called them on a Sunday approx 6:30 pm thinking I was gonna get an answer machine, an actual person answered the phone. I have been in the new place approximately 20 days and had to reach out to Ziprent for some service and my issues were completed that day I just paid my rent and when I went through their online, it took approximately 15 seconds I think this is a great concept in renting I would absolutely recommend and use Ziprent for my future needs, but I don't plan on leaving this gorgeous place From Danine to Sandra and all the people at customer service thank you for always being there. I highly recommend This is my first time rent out my home, consulted many traditional property management companies, there charge are so, much 6% to 8% and half of rent initially. Which would be alot. I was exploring better options and found zip rent as couple of my neighbor properties were listed on zillow with ziprent images. The process with ziprent was easy than what I expected it took hardly 2 - 4 day to list out my property the time I contact them. And there rates are also reasonable, and found ziprent is more technology based service with better marketing skills and finding right tenants. I enjoyed the renting experience with Ziprent. It was effortless to schedule a tour with clear instructions. Also, the application process was very smooth as I was new to the USA. Even the communication related to any questions regarding the application was quick. Once I expressed interest in viewing the unit, they reached out within an hour to share available tour times and a way for me to book it. They helped coordinate the tour with the current tenant, and they were quick to follow up afterward. When I applied to rent the unit, a Ziprent representative confirmed receipt of the application within 24 hours and gave me clear expectations of when I would hear back. After my application was approved, they have been extremely helpful in providing all of the move-in information necessary and coordinating directly with the landlord. When looking for an apartment to rent, we came across a great property that was listed by Ziprent.  Initially, we were slightly skeptical about viewing a property without meeting the property manager.  However, being able to schedule a viewing almost immediately at a time that worked for our schedules was great.  Once we saw the property, we reached out by email with some follow-up questions, and the team was incredibly responsive.  It was definitely the best communication we had with any leasing team during our property search.  Signing the lease and moving in was also very simple.  From application to move in, it took a week.
