Been to a lot of liquor stores with really brilliant selections and I can't with good faith say…read morethat this store is on par with any of those -- but, that being said, when I lived in Jeff City, this was the only shining star in a sea of darkness. Deerpark is in a great spot for those who thought they could make it to Columbia/Ashville on a few drops of gas. Had the opportunity to visit Shirks Country Market in Centertown, MO, and this is hands-down one of…read moremy favorite stops whenever I'm in the area! First and foremost, the deli here is nothing short of amazing. I always get the BLT, and it never disappoints. The bacon tastes incredibly fresh, and the produce on it is just as fresh. I also love to add their jalapeño cheddar cheese--so flavorful! A few jalapeños for an extra kick, and it's perfect. Another highlight for me is the bakery. The service is great and their banana bread is one of my absolute favorites--moist, tasty, and often fresh out of the oven. This market has so much to offer: * Fresh produce * Bagged candy, all packaged neatly with an Amish-style retail vibe * A variety of unique items to explore Next door, there's even a plant shop with a beautiful selection of plants, adding to the charm of this spot. The parking lot is huge, making it easy to stop by. It's handicap accessible, so there's nothing to worry about when it comes to accessibility. All in all, this place is a gem, and I truly love stopping by every chance I get!

If you're anywhere near the Missouri State Capitol and need a great place to stop, Red Wheel Steam…read moreHouse is an absolute win. It's an easy walk down the hill from the Capitol. Yes, the coffee is excellent -- well-crafted, smooth, and exactly what you want whether you're starting your day or taking a midday break (be sure to get a pastry or cookie, trust me on this!). But what really sets Red Wheel apart is that if you're not in the mood for coffee, you've got options. Their selection of alcoholic drinks makes this a perfect spot to transition from afternoon caffeine to early evening relaxation. Indoor seating is limited, but the ample outdoor seating more than makes up for it. Inside, the cozy space gives you a front-row seat to watch the barista work their magic, while also creating a great opportunity to chat with the owners and learn about the connected bike shop next door. Red Wheel Steam House strikes that perfect balance -- great coffee, flexible drink options, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local, a Capitol regular, or just passing through Jefferson City, this spot is worth the stop.

The Lavendar Haze was a little too sweet for me.but the stepdaughter loved it. It was definitely good and very refreshing. Our lunch location didn't have Guiness stout, but the Red Wheel did, which made the hubs happy. I got an espresso AND an Espresso Martini. Both were delicious. The actual building is very small and has limited seating and room. Therefore, the coffee comes in nice paper cups. There is a wonderful outside seating area and would be amazing in the warmer weather. The barista was so nice and very efficient making our drinks. There were several people and more who came in, and he handled the rush gracefully They also offer batista classes, which I think would be super cool for a couples or girls only outing. Stop by and try them out!
