I always order eggplant when it's on the menu, and their Szechuan Eggplant really hit the spot. I was also craving some beef but wasn't sure what to choose. I was leaning toward the brisket when my server, Chima, strongly suggested that I give the Tea Leaf Beef a try. I'm sooo glad that I took his advice! It was so flavorful and had a nice crisp to it! I ordered the Dragonfruit Collins cocktail, which was refreshing and created with the perfect ratios. The ambiance was nice - classy, clean - and a great view of the marina. Great place for a solo diner like myself but also for groups. Would definitely return and recommend!

Had a cocktail (strawberry daiquiri) was tasty, and started with the Aztec fries which were the bomb! I had the fajita, they were a bit stingy on the toppings. Ran out of lettuce by my third taco, and no pico de gallo which I find odd. I had the BBQ option and it tasted like the meat was cooked in plain BBQ sauce, which was sickly sweet and a bit overwhelming. Might try the other flavour next time, or I might try the tacos instead. My husband had the chicken burrito which he said was good. Staff were attentive, and they have several vegan options including dessert which is fantastic! I didn't get to try the vegan dessert as I was too full, but next time. Will go again but probably won't get the fajita again. Extensive menu, so lots of options. Parking was a bit of an issue but we drove around the carpark until we found one. I don't know why other Yelp reviewers were really unhappy here, it definitely wasn't bad, they could just improve a little.

It was the best thing at the time. The two waiters that served us even introduced themselves by name and made us feel extremely welcome. It was such incredible hospitality that you wouldn't expect normally. The Depot is situated on Beach Road which is slightly off the main drag of Surfers Paradise. Beach Road is a flurry of new up-and-coming 'hipster' looking eateries - which is usually always a good sign of quality. They've also obviously put a lot of thought into their interior and decor which is always a plus. The food was incredible. We got quite a bit of food - the burgers were good and meaty. The ribs fell straight off the bones. The chips were good and the chicken tenders were... tender! Everything was just absolutely tasty and delightful. The shakes were also outstanding. A must visit!

While I'm not a vegetarian, as you'll see if you keep reading this review, I enjoy vegetarian dishes and felt this was a breath of fresh air compared to most vegetarian burgers are either mushroom or veggie. My partner got the Depot Burger which had so much on it he couldn't even finish. The next time we went with another couple, and I had the Coney Island hot dog. For whatever reason cheese sauce is hard to come by in Australia, so having this chili and cheese dog was great. The Brooklyn Depot definitely lived up to its "American street food" motto. On a side note, I ordered my French fries with a side of ranch, and the American server asked me where I was from. When I replied that I'm from Michigan, she said only people from the States order ranch with their fries, and we commiserated about our shared love of ranch. Haha. She also didn't charge me for the ranch. Love this place. The only somewhat negative thing I'll say is they don't take reservations, and we had to wait almost a half an hour to get seated. But the food is worth the wait. Wish they had more beers on tap but considering they just opened, hopefully maybe in the future that will change.
