I found some gorgeous Italian made espresso spoons for about 3 Euros each. There are all sorts of espresso cups, coffee accessories, kitchen gadgets, soaps, linens and more. Lots of pretty Italian things. Definitely worth a look if you are a kitchen person. The employees were very friendly as well.

It still sells adorable appliances, jewlery, pasta, random knickknacks, and it has a beachy chill design theme to it so they also sell floaties (how effin cute is that?). The lady running it is super sweet and chill, and very unconcerned and unbothered with being a tourist trap, so I feel safe and genuinely respected here. AND her coffee latte is SO tasty! I also got a slice of some chocolate number that was displayed, and my god, the softness, creaminess, and richness had me salivating. I didnt even need to put any sugar in my cafe latte and I'm normally a straight up fiend. So yeah, come here for some coffee and a break. It's right around the corner from the Pantheon and Piazza Navona with the 4 River Fountain so it makes for a perfect rest stop. Lighting design is definitely a bonus.

Prior to this day, I had not known the story of La Befana, and as there were many decorations of her in the store, I asked my professor what they were. She explained to me that on January 6, the children in Italy receive little gifts from her (if you are unfamiliar with the story, do look it up). January 6 is my birthday, so I decided to purchase a Christmas stocking. While checking out, my professor came up to the man who was assisting me and she explained that I was born on the feast of the epiphany. Upon hearing this, he gave me a discount and then asked me to close my eyes. Within a few moments he returned and handed me a small item wrapped in tissue paper, and he told me not to open it the day of my birthday. I was very grateful on my birthday to open my little bundle to find a Befana ornament. This encounter as well as the gift reveal months later have reminded me of the kindness and beauty of Rome and it's people, and I miss it very much. Please stop into this shop if you are in Rome, for there are some lovely gifts that you can purchase, and they are all handmade. Grazie mille to the kind people of La Bottega di Mi & Chi.

We were walking back to our B&B after touring the Colosseum when we happened upon this cute little shop tucked away behind the Pantheon. This shop is filled with beautiful toys for children on one side, and gorgeous hand-painted and handmade Christmas ornaments and decorations on the other side. It was so hard to choose which ornament I wanted, but I settled on a ceramic one that had the nativity scene hand-painted on it. We went to the register to pay, and were very impressed with the care that the store owner took in wrapping up our ornament. He wrapped it in bubble wrap, placed it in a small box, and then wrapped the box in tissue paper and taped it shut. My main concern was how I was going to pack it on the plane ride home without it getting broken, and now I had no reason to worry. We thanked the store owner with a smile, a simple "Grazie mille" and were on our way. If you are looking to purchase beautiful handmade and hand-painted souvenirs from your trip to Rome, look no further than La Bottega di Mi & Chi!
