I was a bit desperate because I was lethargic, congested, miserable, unable to breath normal, and I had that feeling of "infection." Certified nurse practitioner Juditt Cruz to the rescue! She agreed I most likely had an infection. Most likely a sinus infection because that's been a thing in my past. After being tested with the * lovely * long Q-tips up both of my nostrils and one to the back of my throat, everything else tested negative. After a steroid to basically my buttocks (not the hip like she said!), Z-Pak (azithromycin), and the recommendation to take Cetirizine (Zyrtec) for the next two weeks, I felt amazingly better. Ms. Cruz had wonderful bedside manner. From now on I would not hesitate to see her if my usual doctor cannot. Her very young nursing assistant sent me for a good laugh soon after administering the aforementioned steroid shot into my 44-year-old soft tissue... I exaggerate a bit, but this assistant delivered the following semi back door compliment, "I hope I look as good as you when I'm that old." Baaaaahahahaha...

The reason given for lack of attentiveness, untimely routines, and staffing errors was repeatedly "short staffed or I just started." Please do an extensive on site visit before placing your loved ones here. My mother regretted her decision from the moment she arrived to the last hour on site. The fact that the administrator never personally addressed our concerns is interpreted as her drawing a paycheck in a position she does not deserve. We only witnessed her once assisting her under staffed day shift and never witnessed her on site during the start of evening shift. I do not kniw if the person making medical decisions was ever present. My mom has no recollection of anyone introducing themselves as the person making decisions about her care. We heard many care staff referencing texting the person for assistance with medication and other treatment questions. Look elsewhere!

Dr. Driskill, MD (OBGYN) has some of the nicest staff in Hobbs!…read more He was equally friendly, welcoming & professional during my first visit to his clinic, called Women's Care Clinic, on 12/15/2022. While waiting, I was offered a small bottle of water. They use an online portal for reviewing the doctor's & his nurse's notes from your visit. His nurse was awesome! She's one of the best communicators I've ever met in the health care industry. She reminded me that Pap smears for women 40 & older are now recommended every 5 years, but that my insurance would pay for yearly exams. Unbeknownst to me prior to my visit, they had me pee in a cup for a pregnancy test. Even if you know you aren't. Lol. Thus... arrive hydrated & don't use the restroom before you head there. Overall, I was impressed with their clinic's cleanliness. Getting an appointment & finding the facility were the only pitfalls. If you don't already know the area, Dr. Driskill's office is behind the old Lea Regional Hospital (as it was referred to as when I was born there) - even closer to the emergency helipad. Earlier this year, the Covenant Health Hospital in Hobbs, NM, took good care of my dad after some issues I'd rather not get into because it's his business. I was actually impressed with the communication all of his health care team had been providing him with. They even allowed my mom (who is also technically elderly) to stay the night in his room and visit him whenever she could. I met a couple of the nurses that had been taking care of him and they were all courteous and professional. THANK YOU! Today, Friday, December 13, 2024, I had a somewhat last-minute mammogram yet again at this facility. Once again I was seen by the fabulous radiologic technologist, Sarah. Check-in with the security guard went smooth. As did with two other employees. (The second employee I saw re-registered me with the hospital and the third communicated to my tech that I had arrived.) The facility is still clean and well-maintained. I enjoy going here for my mammograms because it's simple, quick, clean, and painless - but I should note I have an overall high pain threshold. If you do not tolerate pain, just say that - they will take measures to be as gentle as possible. The time that I entered the mammography room to exiting out of the hospital was probably not even 15 minutes. Glad my doctor referred me here again because now we have comparisons from last year... plus Sarah was great! TIP Don't be hesitant or fearful about getting your boobs squished. Just go here if you get the recommendation!
