Three months later, CSA hadn't even contacted my landlord. My landlord refused to accept my offer for partial rent and has proceeded with eviction. One of the women there, Jocelyn (or Jacklyn?), is always neurotic and hostile to me. I have no idea why.

The accelerator had a wonderful sense of camaraderie and was a supportive environment in which to learn business essentials, and to learn from each other. Outside the accelerator program, the Dojo is a really friendly, grass-roots environment in which people can hang out, do work, and share ideas, and the people in charge of it are very passionate about it. (As an example of it being a friendly place, one of the regulars there impromptu-shared delicious bacon sandwiches that he had just barbequed.) I've grown very fond of it.

Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing meals for children all over…read morethe world. Meals are packed during major disasters such as the Haiti earthquake and more recently, Hurricane Dorian which hit the Bahamas. Our Company had about 20 volunteers come here to help package dried food. It was great to help out a worthy cause and the event was also great for team building. We worked in close quarters in their warehouse, with 6-8 people per station. Two baggers, four food scoopers (soy protein, dehydrated veggies, vitamin powder, and rice), and two more for sealing the bags and weighing. Each bag had to be within 1% of a total mass target. They actually gave us some sample of the cooked product and its pretty good! Like a rice pilaf they might serve on airplanes, only vegan and high in proteins, fiber, and vitamins. A single bag feeds 6 kids. After 90 minutes, a total of 30 volunteers managed to pack 5616 bags, enough for 33,000 meals. You can also purchase some of these meal bags for $2 each. They may great emergency food for earthquakes, camping, or other emergencies. All you need is access to boiling water. Definitely recommend coming here as a team-building event or as individual volunteers. Kudos to General Mills for supplying all the food!

They came when they said they would (a couple of friendly young men with a very large truck), and took many items out of the garage, though not all. They even took a kayak, wasn't expecting that! I was about to stick it out on the curb with a FREE sign. This was a big help to me, since we are very quickly getting the house ready to sell. Hats off to Hope Services!

All staff members were very helpful and kind. They have a loading dock straight to the back of the kitchen for easy decor and catering loading. Ceiling projector worked perfectly, and AV was easy to hook up. The ceiling speakers had a weird echo and were difficult to hear, so I recommend bringing your own speakers if you're hosting a large event. We were able to set out round dining tables for nearly 170 guests for lunch, and there was plenty of space for everyone, plus a buffet line, bar, beverage station, and some activity stations. They had plenty of furniture for us to use - all of it was kept in great shape, and easy to set up. The automatic roller shades were easy to use, and the AC worked great once we had the correct temperature and settings dialed in. Our event was on a very hot day in August, but the room was very comfortable. The facility coordinator John was amazing and super helpful for our day-of setup and teardown needs and questions.

A few steps away is a locally owned hardware store and a grocery store. While it is private land, there is a single public bench where visitors can sit and admire the near perfect asymmetric architecture that reveals as much as it hides in publicly visible seclusion. I truly appreciate the time I got to spend here. I didn't stay a night but I did stay for a couple hours with my 6 month old to feed and to nap. It was for sure needed before the drive back home. I also stayed for dinner which was delightful. They also offer snacks, and if you have family members at bedside, you are more than welcome to pack them food to-go. They also have a huge backyard with a play area and a BBQ grill. I highly suggest going on their website to learn more about this amazing home away from home.
