The store itself is small but has a good amount of charms to choose from and is super clean and organized. What I found disappointing was that there were only 2 charms that pertained to Switzerland. One was just a base flower shaped charm then other was a heart shaped charm with an outline map of Switzerland with a heart inside of it and the word Switzerland above it. The sales girl who helped us was very nice and knew her stuff. This location also had a nice selection of Disney charms.

As a fan of the publication, I was happy to learn they also serve up java and croissants at this location, a mere 4 min stroll from my hotel by the opera house and 1 block from the lake. The outdoor vibe was soothingly Swiss to this weary traveler and offered some post-caffeine browsing opportunities as well. If I'm ever back in Zürich, I'll be sure to add this to my morning rotation.

Berkeley, California vibes in the middle of Zürich. If I could pick one place in Zürich to call "my…read moreliving room," it would be Kasheme. Walking in felt like stumbling into a post-hippie apartment that just happens to have world-class bartenders and a killer sound system. Shelves of vinyl, plants everywhere, low lighting, and lots of little nooks and couches make it insanely cozy and easy to settle in for hours. The music is the real heartbeat here - deep, eclectic sets that move from jazz and soul to more underground sounds, never the usual generic club playlist. It's very much a listening bar: you feel like people actually come to hear what's being played, not just to have background noise. Cocktails are excellent and made with care - the kind of place where the bartenders are happy to riff on your preferences and mix something off-menu. Everyone behind the bar was friendly, relaxed, and clearly loves being there, which matches what a lot of other reviewers say about the staff and the warm, "home away from home" vibe.

Best guitar store in the ZH vicinity…read more We've been coming here for the last 10 years and the store has never let us diwn. They have a ton of guitars ranging from beginners to pros, gear for guitarists, bass players and drummers and they do repairs as well! And to put the cherry on top, they have a small stage on which they sometimes host local artists. Do come here if you want to support a great crew with lots of heart and knowledge as well as great prices.

I made the mistake of greeting him on my way in (the shop was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop) and my 'hallo' fell into the abyss. Whatever. What brought me in to the shop were the fun and funky furniture bits that I saw through the window as I made my way down the street en route to the Sport Bar. Beyond the furniture one can find a limited selection of vintage men's and women's clothing of good caliber, airline bags, shoes, wool sweaters, desk lamps, and, most importantly, records of various description (seemingly the more obscure the better) and a few turn-tables. Record enthusiasts are able to pop a record on a turn-table, put on a head-set and listen to the recording before deciding to buy. I only know this from direct observation as I didn't trust myself to talk to the shop owner. What I really dug were the record sleeves displayed up on the walls. 16 Tons is nothing if not very visually interesting. For those of you of a certain age and certain geographic locate, then I could have skipped the above description and merely said: this place reminds me exactly of the slew of shops on Haight Street in San Francisco that existed back in the 80s and early 90s. -should've told the owner of 16 Tons that, eh?

It's just a regular book store, but something about Orell Fussli is special. Maybe because the books are in German, and it's multiple stories and fun to ride the elevator. Maybe it's because there are nice couches around to sit and read the books, or maybe because there's a Starbucks too so you can have a coffee while you're enjoying your book. I don't know, but I love it. When things were a bit rough a month ago I'd just come here, and everything bad would go away.
