Being newly built, it's of course looking modern and clean right now, but not sure if it'll stay like that in the future. The amount of shops to choose from is good enough, but certainly not overwhelming for Berlin.

In the town I come from, we had two malls. One was the downtown mall, with all the new,…read moreinteresting, hip stores. The other was the older mall (the only one before the downtown one opened), and because of its dated architecture and relatively uninteresting selection, I always referred to it as the "old people mall," since only the "old people" I knew liked to shop there. Well, as far as the various shopping centers in Berlin are concerned, Park Center is what I would consider the "old people mall" of Berlin - or at least of the Treptow/Kreuzberg/Neukölln area. It is not anything terribly spectacular, but it serves its purpose. Some redeeming things about this place: Real and Saturn. There is also a Rossmann, which is a suitable-enough replacement for DM (although I love me some DM). But those things aside, this place is generally filled with uninteresting shops. It could be worse...

The Park Center is a shopping mall close to Treptower Park station. It boasts the usual shops, such…read moreas a Real supermarket, an electronics retailer, a post office and some fast food stalls, but not only the presence of a nail studio tells us that it isn't exactly upmarket. It does feel a bit lifeless, however I have noticed three traits that make me feel cozy in there. (Well, four actually as I used to work nearby at Vattenfall a few years ago.) You can actually spot youth hanging out at the mall here there's plenty of seating and you can relax and bathrooms are totally free to use! (Whereas other places don't officially charge, yet by the sheer presence of a bathroom attendant, you do feel kind of coerced to give some coins)
