My wife and I went and got our WEDDING nails done at Zen. My nails are fine , hers however have large bubbles in them. Staff seemed rushed and for damn near $100... we expected so much better. Now we need to pay to have them removed and redone. read more

Be very, very careful here. I'm from out of town and took my granddaughters for a mani-pedi day. The salon only accepts cash, so that caused us to scramble a bit to figure out where to find an ATM. The prices seemed reasonable, until the add-ons started. Extra for a flower, extra for a different color....... By the time we left, we had paid almost $200 for 2 girls' mani-pedis. Pretty outrageous. read more

The people where nice but just overall not great service. The work was so sloppy and they didn't really listen to what I asked for . Now I'm walking away with sub par nails and toes that frankly look pretty bad. I wish they would just take there time. So I giving 2 stars for nice atmosphere but nothing more. I'm very disappointed. read more

I took myself, my best friend and my 4 year old goddaughter to get our nails done today and it was honestly the best experience I've ever had it in nail salon. The gentleman that we're working today were absolutely amazing I had a nail fungus all the other nail salons that I have gone to and not told me about or corrected and I've been getting my nails done for over 2 years but this just mean kindly told me about it and fixed my issue. And on top of it they stayed 2 hours past their closing time in order just to get it then thank you guys I hope you get all the business Burlington has to offer because you certainly deserve it great job read more

This was my first time here for a senior pedicure. The worker did a great job with prepping, callous removal & massage then I was passed to another guy (I believe the manager). He trimmed my nails in a hurry, clipping a big chunk of skin from my big toe. It bled profusely & he offered NO apology. He hurried my polish only one coat & dabbed the blood once with a cotton ball taking the polish with it. Apparently I was done. My toe bled for a half hour so bad it dripped to my sandal. My toe is very sore and inflamed. It was the most disgusting pedicure I've ever had. I'll never go back there. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I went in and wanted ombré on my regular nails and I was told they can't do that I would have to have the dip or acrylic on my nails and I didn't want that so they did a white tip. I don't see why they can't do ombré on my own nail. Also I thought it was very expensive to do just polish on my nail with a white tip. read more

I was there today and it was the worse customer service. I went there 4hr before closing and at the time 5 customer were been serviced. I have always gotten my nails done there and never have any issue before. today i went and told them I need pedicure and gel finger, they agreed and seat me to start the pedicure. The technician that was preparing the items didn't speak English, it appear he was talking to me but I didn't reply and look towards the other technician who took over the set up. During the pedicure he try to have conversations and ask if I work at a hospital? I said yes and if it was in town and I said no. Those were the only word exchange I had with them after telling them what services I need. By his attitude seems he had issue with someone who those answers matched. Because the visit got weird he finished my toes and a poor job at it. But I didn't say anything either. He rushed me out the chair to pay him. I told him I was getting my fingers done and he decline to finish my service. There new customers waiting at that time and he processed to work with them and asked me to leave. It was weird and rude, very poor customer service for This establishment. I work too hard to pay for crappy service and a business that don't respect customers. read more

They do structured gel nails! One of the only places in the area. The facilities are lovely and clean. my stylist was very friendly and did a wonderful job. read more

My nails always look great when done. My biggest frustration is pricing. I get the exact same thing done every time. Every time it's a completely different price. Seems to go by the mood of the worker that day. The workers have always been kind to me but I've definitely witnessed pure rudeness to other customers. I'm kind of on the fence about this place. Overall work is great. Attitude and treatment to the customers needs alot of improvement. Consistency in pricing would be nice also. read more

If i could give a half star i would!!! this place sucks never go here, I got cut three times and my nails are uneven lengths. I paid $112 for a basic design and a pedicure, customer service but took forever. My friend paid $128 for a pedicure and a basic design. Her original design the guy told her it would be $95 just for the nails read more

If I could put minus ratings I would. These people are rude, hates, and just plain mean. If you go there after getting your nails done somewhere else they where refuse to take care of you. And they will tell you outright!! I guess they don't need the business!! read more

Very pushy. They tell u what they want for u. No thanks I know what I want and expect it not what u want for. Plan on spending 45 for gel and manicure but got dip instead which I didn't want but got anyways and not even the color I wanted either read more

They have over 3000 colirs to choose from which is way better than most nail salons in the city. I find they provide great service. Although they are a little pricey compared to ther places; that comes with the territory. They know how to shape nails and provide great service. I will come back here!!! read more

We went in. Waited 45 mins to be seated. Another 45 for service. Basic service for both of us, overcharged $200 for literally $75 worth of service! After 3 hours, we were absolutely unimpressed! read more

I went in today with a friend and it was the worst experience I've ever had. They lady I had was extremely rough with my nails and cut me several times and when she was filing with the drill. She took it so far down and left it on my fingers, I became able to feel the heat of the file drill and it was burning my fingers. I repeatedly was saying "ouch" and pulling my hand away and then she'd grab it and yank it back and roll her eyes. This lady was absolutely horrible. MY NAILS STILL ARE BURNING. I have never left a nail salon and had that. Also on top of that this lady wasn't even making conversation with me or anything. Just yank and pull on my arms. And also messed up on my nails on how I wanted them and she told me ya ya I know as she continues to do it. Very disappointed and won't be going back, and will be telling friends about my experience!! read more

Never step foot in this place again. I'm so upset that I don't even know where to start with my review. I paid a ridiculous price for a set of acrylics that two nails broke off after two days. Came back in to ask for a fix and was told to be very careful with my nails?! Where is the quality of their works? I don't know how they got so many 5 stars reviews on google but I've told by a friend who owns a business that people can buy 5 stars reviews. What a JOKE!!! read more

My daughter called to make an appointment for Oct. 15 the day before her wedding for the two of us to get pedicures. She was told no she couldn't make an appointment and the staff assured her they would not be busy if we got there when they opened at 9:30. My daughter asked again for an appointment because we were on a tight schedule that day. Again, she was told she couldn't make an appointment and that we wouldn't have to wait if we were there at opening. So we drive from Fort Madison and get there at 9:30 and walk in. They tell us to sign in on an Ipad and it asks right off if we have an appointment..seriously.. nope we don't... And there are three people in the pedi chairs with a staff member doing their pedis and another lady sitting before us waiting. There are 4 people at the nail bar with 2 staff there. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we walked out. Very disappointing as this was a mom-daughter day before her wedding pedi-date. About 2 hours later I get a text message thanking me for my business and wanting to know about my experience...really? Can I give them negative stars! read more

You need to have patience if you choose this salon, they have a lot of clientele. Excellent work. I recommend to everyone.

I got my nails and eyebrows waxed the other day. They did a great job! The one guy who took care of me was very kind! I will be going back.

The web site states that appointments can be made but when I called, I was told walk ins only. I arrived at 10 a.m. checked in and waited for an hour. I would have waited longer but I had an appointment at noon that I couldn't cancel. More employees are needed and appointments would be very beneficial. Everyone's time is important. I am very disappointed. read more

I recently had my nails done at ZEN Nails at the recommendation of a girl friend, I am new to the area and was looking for a good place to have my nails done.  This is actually the second time I have come in for my nails.  The first time I asked for the powder dipped nails (SNS) Danny the manager tried to talk me into acrylic and I told him that I didn't like acrylic and wanted the powder dipped and so Julie did my nails and they were beautiful.  She did an amazing job.  So naturally I went back when I needed them redone. This time Danny was doing my nails.  I told told him that I had the powder dipped nails previously that Julie had done and that is what I wanted re-done but this time in the Ombre.  He told me "trust me, I know what you need".  So when he started the application on my first nail and he was doing acrylic, I stopped him and said again that I wanted the powder dipped nails.  He again said he knew what I needed.  I explained that I don't like the feel or the look of acrylic and if the Ombre couldn't be done in the powder dipped I would choose something else. Danny tried to tell me that what he was doing was the powder dipped. (I have been getting my nails done for about 30 years so I know the difference between acrylic nails and powder dipped.) So he just continued to apply my nails with the acrylic because HE decided that is what I needed, not what I wanted.  When he was finished I again asked if the Ombre nail process was not available in the powder dipped?  I again explained that I really like the powder dipped process better because they look more natural, they are thinner and they feel better.  Danny immediately took offence and started agrueing that his nails were not thick and they looked really natural!  And then he continued to try and tell me that he had done the powder dipped because he used the same type of powder they use with the powder dipped nails.  I don't care what type of powder he used!  He did an acrylic process with acrylic liquid and had to form it manually to my nails and not just dip my nails in the powder.  He was making me feel very uncomfortable.  The salon was full and you could tell he was upset and getting loud.  So I paid and went home.  The more I thought about it and looked at the nails they were VERY THICK and looked fake. I called and asked to speak to Danny, I again told him how unhappy I was that he did not do what I had asked for, he told me to come back and he would re-do the nails. At this point I was very releived that he was finally listening to me.  So I went back to the salon. The entire time he kept trying to "SELL" me on the fact that he did the dipped nails because he used the same powder. He also said that because I make him unhappy and didn't trust his process the next time I want my nails done I should go somewhere else.  I asked him if he would rather have had me post a bad review or would he rather I call and talk to him and let him know how unhappy I was?  I had just spent $200 in this salon (both me and my husband had pedicures before I had my nails done) and your he is telling me to go somewhere else because HE DIDN'T LISTEN TO WHAT I WANTED! Unbelievable. Needless to say, I will spend my $200 at ANY other salon in the Burlington area! I would never go back and certainly would never recommend! read more

Walked in to a huge line and right off the bat a woman was yelling and arguing after her nails that she wasn't going to pay for them. Cops were almost called, we were a little uncomfortable but went ahead with the appointment. We waited an hour in the chair to start the pedicure. In the middle of that another woman is yelling and running around the store saying she was next in line and it was because they were discriminating against her ethnicity (I have absolutely no side or no what true my was going down). Everyone was uncomfortable yet again. The workers then proceeded to gossip openly with us in the situation making us even more uncomfortable. Finally after 2 situations, and 2 hours we were now onto our pedicure. This part didn't take long, but it was down so sloppy and you could tell he just wanted to rush us along (mind you we had now been here 3 1/2 hours). Overall, nice looking atmosphere but TERRIBLE time management, communication, and design skills along with outrageous prices. Will never go back. (Not to mention my end total was $120. I've NEVER spent that much on basic gel mani/pedi and for the worst nails I've ever had done). It was a huge disappointment as someone who was looking for a relaxing day, and only gets their nails maybe 2 times a year. read more
