I really like this grocer! It is within walking distance to my home otherwise I probably wouldn't pick it first. I mostly go because they have nice stuff to window shop and good / affordable snacks :) they kind of remind me of Whole Foods. My favourite things to get from here: - they have an artisan bread section so I like getting their sourdough/baguettes - they have a little bakery with really good macarons, cheesecake, Portuguese tarts, and cannoli (among other goodies!) - they have fresh sushi which is pretty good most of the time. - in terms of snacks in the isles, they sell really cheap instant ramen, plantain chips, and drinks which I love to try - they also have decently priced ($12-20) flower bouquets and their selection is always changing. They also carry cute plants - ive also gotten a few cute mugs and plates from here for very cheap! - there is a tim hortons inside with a large sitting area Produce and regular groceries are typically 1-5 dollars more expensive than competing grocers. Rocks found in Zehrs in-house made pasta. I feel that the public at large has the right to know about this rather serious food contamination issue and the total lack of care and action on the part of both Zehrs and Loblaw Companies Limited. I had purchased a tray of penne alfredo with chicken, made in-house at Zehrs #560 in the Laurentian Shopping Center 750 Ottawa St S. in Kitchener Ontario on June 6, only to find rocks and sand throughout the entire dish. After reporting it to Zehrs and getting no reply within 24 hours I called customer service and was told that someone would call me. They responded by e-mail saying that they will investigate and as "goodwill" deposited 15K PC Optimum points ($15 value) into my account. I should note that they never even asked if I had an account, and the account that they allegedly deposited to has had an error for years and simply doesn't work. Nobody ever followed up to investigate. E-mailing them back to inform them that the value of my money back plus less than $2 was not really goodwill and that the account doesn't even work, well, they didn't respond. The account still doesn't work. So I let the public relations department at Loblaw Companies know... after 4 full business days they didn't respond either. I might add that reporting the issue to Region of Waterloo Public Health effectively went nowhere as well. They filed a report with the CFIA, despite being informed that it had been already by myself. CFIA's recommendation was to report it to Region of Waterloo Public Health as it was outside of their jurisdiction, sending me in a circle. In short, if you get rocks and sand in your in-house made food from Zehrs, don't expect to get any meaningful response. Don't expect them to take the matter of contaminated food seriously. How did rocks get into the food in the first place? Don't even expect to get your money back, as a goodwill refund of money back plus less than $2 may actually just go into an abyss. They may not even care if anyone suffered any injuries nor take any action at all to remedy the situation. So I'm left with a frozen sample of the product for review, 3 weeks of frustration and hours lost to communications with nothing to show but a complete loss of trust in the brands and representatives of Zehrs and Loblaw Companies. All that I'm seeking out of this is to be recognized, acknowledged and made whole, to simply be heard. So much for their Core Values of Care, Ownership, Respect and Excellence. I was robbed on September 14 2022 at about 1.45 pm I reported it to the office and he told me he called the police. well the police told me on Saturday the 17TH that he the manger at that time never reported it at all ,that he had lied to me. The police told me the man that was following me in the ZEHRS on 750 Highland St in Kitchener is on camera in the lotto center they see him taking my wallet from my bag. That wallet had all my cards ,license,health,credit and debit card and over 55 dollars. After I went to my to cancel cards at my bank this man had taken over 600.00 dollars from my savings account, he was so close over my shoulder when I was using my debit card that he saw me press the numbers. so now I'm just wondering why would this manager that was there why didn't he call the police, doesn't he think that the clients aren't worth anything. .not acceptable at all. read more

As far as grocery stores go, this one is fine. You will find what you are looking for. This review is more specific to the hot meals section, it is very hit and miss. Each piece of their fried chicken I eat is like a nuclear bomb exploding in my stomach. The grilled chicken on a stick is better, but very dry and stringy. Every time I had one of the parmesan chicken breasts it was completely dry. The small potatoes are cooked well but flavorless. The mashed potatoes are good. They have a nice vinegary hint, smooth with a few chunks consistency, and some bits of skin left in. The scalloped potatoes are creamy, soft, and have a slightly rich flavor. I like them. The rotisserie chickens never get old to me. That brine is golden. read more

We went into Zehrs Laurentian hill to rent a shampooer. - the one we got was leaking so we returned it and of course they gave us another one no problem. The best day my daughter returned it and was spoken to very poorly by customer service rep Carolyn and told her she saw a dog hair and to take it back home to clean it or she wouldn't get her 10 dollars back . I cleaned this shampooer myself and there was nothing in it . We drove back across town to bring it back and this time I myself went in - she didn't even look at it - I asked for the manager Jesse and he basically said oh well I didn't see it . Absolutely the worst Zehrs for customer service . Stanley Park and Weber St are amazing and we will be using them only . read more

After shopping here for a few decades, we will not be doing so anymore. We've been using the Click'N Collect for a few years now, but today my wife came home shocked that she had been blacklisted at the Ottawa Street store. Last week it was raining when she went to pick the groceries and had them loaded into the van. The young lady loading them blacklisted us because we didn't know to bring the shopping baskets to this non-descript beige door on the side of the building to have them loaded there. How are we supposed to know this? Well, that's fine. We'll take the $2500/mo we spend on groceries for our family to another store. We did some sidebar comparisons, and found a local Sobey's that will do the same job. Turns out they will do unlimited deliveries straight to our house for $16 per month. Even in the rain. Unfortunately had a horrible experience here after years of fantastic service. We went to get a few groceries last night and bought several items on sale. The guy bagging orders was incredibly annoying and surly and clearly was having a bad day and taking it out on customers. Why is he even there anyway? His rude annoying ramblings and huffing distracted us and we did not see that the sale price was not honoured on several items for now we feel scammed. He also had HORRIBLE body odour. I'm so disappointed after being a loyal customer for years (as one can see from my years old positive review) that I might not come back. read more

I just wanted to post a review to say that I was there, and there was a guy (id say late 30's) who was in the self check out and sharted. NO ONE CARED! its running down your pant leg and not one worker was making no nevermind! REALLY!!!? I had to run as far away from that as possible! I checked out at the otherside of the store. This is the big Zehrs supermarket in the Laurentian Power Centre. Zehrs is a local chain that started in Kitchener in the 1950s, and is now part of the Loblaw Companies Limited (LCL) empire. Being part of the LCL group means that the store carries the President's Choice and "no name" products. This store is convenient for one-stop-shopping, with a pharmacy, wine store and eyewear store on-site. The prices are higher here than in the Food Basics or Freshco, but there tends to be a much better selection here than at the discount grocery stores. read more

I would give 5 stars but.. 1.) The berries are always off (rotten/mouldy). 2.) There's a large man with dark brown hair that bags the groceries and he is THE most irritating human being. I try to avoid him usually. The last time I was there, he made rude comments towards the cashier (older man) and wouldn't stop even though the cashier was visibly furious. He is immature and should not be working with people. He makes customers (and cashiers apparently) feel very uncomfortable. read more

My grandparents are in their mid to late 70s. They decided to take advantage of the early hours of operation specifically dedicated to seniors. During this very confusing and terrifying time my grandparents need to ensure they can safely practice social distancing whilst still being able to obtain their necessities. This morning they were completely shocked and disappointed with their experience. Many seniors with walkers and other disabilities were forced to wait in a line of 70+ other individuals that wrapped around multiple aisles. There was one cashier that was responsible for ensuring all of these seniors were able to get the things they need in the safest way possible. If this establishment wants to portray the perception that they are one who cares about those in their community that are at the greatest risk, more needs to be done. This is completely unacceptable, there is no reason why the most vulnerable people need to wait for an hour to get their goods, while risking infection! Do better, create a better system and keep our seniors and grandparents safe!!! read more
